Thank you again. As you may have noticed, I've been watching several of your videos lately. This concept of 'Relaxation comes from the nervous system' has changed my practice for the better. And nobody is the massage school had told me this. I am a massage therapist who blends stronger Thai massage techniques with Lomi Lomi and western (swedish style) techniques. My thai mentor and colleague is very skilled but I had come off the idea that 'strong' and hard is the (only) way. she tried also to explain it with the concept of yin and yang, but somehow I never grasped it. But with your explanation added, I fully understand it. So again, your videos are always appreciated.
Hello Dolores, yes I have read a few of your comments & greatly appreciate your feedback!!! It sounds like you are on you had a great instructor! Thai massage is actually one of my top 3 modalities!!! Remember that there are different stages to learning your modality. At the beginning we learn the basics & as we continue to practice it starts revealing itself to us! You are on the right path!!! I recommend my video on “Neuromuscular Theory Laws”. This might help you. If you study about the nervous system & how that’s were relaxation begins it will make more sense to you. One of the things I teach my students is to listen with their hands 🙌🏽. Let them guide you & develop the sensitivity to listen to what the clients body is telling you. Example: is the skin cool or warm, taught or lax, does it twitch or react to your touch. Does it trust you or pulls back with your touch. The clients body will let you know what it needs! Thank you for your compliment & create a great day! ❤️🤗

Thank you for your compliment. It is challenging to work on a back that is hard. It’s Usually Atheletes have this musculature. I used forearms, tools, elbows and knuckles when needed. I also recommend doing myofascial release & stretching before you start a body section to loosen up the fascia before you start doing the specific work. I know too well what it does to our bodies when you work on this type of body! We use our whole body for pressure so make sure you’re watching your body mechanics! You can also apply some heat to start relaxing the body. Good question 🤗👏

I usually do this technique with clients who have had pain for a while. I can’t remember one person feeling uncomfortable ( or they didn’t tell me). People that are in pain just want to be helped. I make sure & drape them securely. I’m sure in the video it wasn’t as smooth because it’s kind of difficult to record, talk, explain etc. I also explain the process to the client & ask them if that’s ok. No issues that I know of. Good question!
I don’t know when I’d ever use fetal flex side lying? Everything else is magical. If they are side lying they are usually pregnant or very elderly and don’t role forward like that?
I can see why you wouldn’t want to use it since you don’t use side lying only for prenatal & geriatrics. I do use side lying for the majority of people because it’s so much easier to access so many muscles like the Subscapularis, illiopsoas, Quadratus lumborum, internal & external obliges. I love side lying. Hope you try it & see if you like it. I’m glad everything else is useful. Create a great day
It is difficult to make a suggestion on a case with no medical history available. However massaging an 18 year old client & applying heat is usually not a problem. The heat feels good on the abdominal area & may relief pressure in the area. If she has irregular periods she needs to consult her doctor. 🙏🤗❤️

It is difficult to make a suggestion on a case with no medical history available. However massaging an 18 year old client & applying heat is usually not a problem. The heat feels good on the abdominal area & may relief pressure in the area. If she has irregular periods she needs to consult her doctor. 🙏🤗❤️
