The skill and care of the transporter crew are very impressive, as is the clever design of the trailer to articulate its wheels so precisely with so little disturbance to the cargo and to the local environment. Great video, thank you for making the effort

I've been fortunate to visit the Technic museum in Speyer about 2 months ago. Compare to South Africa...... German town roads are NARROW. Countryside is beautiful. Everything is clean and it work. I salute the Germans, and the respect and effort they have put into that museum covering technical achievements from all over the world. Congratulations.
I always thought it was pretty amazing how they brought the German U-Boat, U-505 from Lake Michigan to it's current location at the Museum of Science of Industry in Chicago, which is close to the lake to begin with. This is really really amazing.
Wow, echt beeindruckende Aufnahmen. Der Transport sieht echt spektakulär aus. Am Kreisverkehr sieht es ja besonders eng aus. Daumen hoch fürs Video! Gruss inselvideo.
Have seen the interior of a WW2 German sub at the Chicago Museum of Science and Industry. It was truly a marvel of engineering. They even constructed the building around the sub after hauling it over a temporary rail from Lake Michigan.

Interesting to see small (less than 1000-tonne submerged) German WW2 submarines had 8 torpedo tubes in the bow. Most of the space was taken up by the torpedoes, leaving very little room for the crew. The movie Das Boot did a fantastic job showing how cramped things were inside such submarines.
@@yyyfffff33333 German submarine U-17 was a Type IIB U-boat of Nazi Germany's Kriegsmarine. It was built in Germaniawerft, Kiel, where it was laid down on 1 July 1935 and commissioned on 3 December 1935, under the command of Werner Fresdorf.
When a truck tire is forced against a curb there is a possibility that the air in the tire will be released with explosive force. The worker is putting his life at risk.
Please note: This is NOT a Word War II era submarine but a Bundesmarine sub from the 1970s, active until 2010. Locate the Wikipedia article "German submarine U-17" and you will find that there has been five different submarines named "U-17" or similar. This is the last one of them. Telltale signs include: - Big sonar "puckle" at the bow, - no "porch(es)" fore or aft of the sail for gunnery, - and (most obvious, I'd say) the propeller/screw which clearly is from an era where you'd expect your opponent to have advanced and high sensitive sonar - not the crude WW-II ASDIC/sonar.

October 2023 we took a river boat cruise down the Rhine and saw some of Speyer and a vinegar distillery in the area and recall seeing the museum with large aircraft on display. We never got there which is too bad for us.
Transporting a submarine on land is an extraordinary task, but when the streets involved are narrow, it elevates the challenge to an entirely new level. The U17, a massive naval vessel, is not only heavy but also bulky, and moving it through urban spaces requires pinpoint precision. Any misstep could lead to damage to the submarine, buildings, or infrastructure.
