This! This is why I warmed up to River so fast. She had chemistry with Ten, Eleven, and Twelve!!!! Clara was just an eye candy to the Doctor. She can't hold a candle next to River's oozing chemistry with all 3 incarnations.

And it bridges the gap between the library and Crash of the Byzantium. 11 was already so use to River in that ep. He gets jealous of River possibly being engaged to Father Octavian. He knows the message left in the museum is from River and he already knows what she wants him to do. He’s not surprised she can fly the Tardis. Or that she’s a time traveller. There are gaps in their relationship that we don’t to get to see. But the audio dramas fill in some of the holes. The beginning of burgeoning relationship starts in the “Tenth Doctor and River Song” drama. And Alex and David just have insane chemistry!
The fact that 12 immediately grabbed into River to protect her from falling less than an hour after saying he doesn't like holding hands just shows how much he loves River and having her near him 😭
Despite being one of the Doctor's most fun and lighthearted companions, Donna also suffered some of the greatest losses. Her entire experience/memories with The Doctor was taken from her.
The whole two-parter is one of my favourite Doctor Who stories. Every element just works incredibly well imo, the sad moments are absolutely heartbreaking, no matter how many time I watch it.

It's just amazing. And the acting of all of them -- The Doctor, River, Donna, is EXCELLENT -- especially amazing given that David Tennant and Alex K. didn't even know the entire story, but they acted their emotions so so brilliantly. And I really agree with the original comment by @Julian Riviera -- I feel like this gets overlooked, the fact that Donna had a whole huge love story and family and bam! it gets taken from her. Heartbreaking. It's so brutal when he was trying to say her name but stuttering, and he wasn't able to say her name before he beams away .... yes, this two-parter episode was and is AMAZING! I'm glad to see I'm not alone in feeling this!

The middle scene in this video, in which River realizes who the person standing next to her is, is my favorite scene of all of new Who. There are certainly better episodes, including many with Capaldi, but this is the perfect combination of comedy (from the audience's point of view) and pathos. I miss River and Captain Jack, my two favorite characters in all of new Who, so much that my most recent cats have been named River Song and Jack Harkness.
I had the honor of meeting John Barrowman about 4 years ago when he had a garage sale. I was able to rummage through his garage and turnaround area of his driveway with about 75 - 100 other people going through his old cloths and stuff he was selling. I literally ran into his husband Scott and almost got knocked over. Boy is Scott tall and handsome too! And quite the British accent, well I think it's British.
Ok, why did I just now realize that 11 used the same trick River did to get rid of all the weeping angels? Even the way “find something to hang onto” and “get a grip” mirror each other. The only difference is that River uses it as a means of escape while The Doctor uses it to defeat his enemy
After watching the series in its entirety... Just to come back to her final moments just broke my heart when she said "don't you dare change a single line". I gotta stop watching these as its just breaking my heart so much.
I don't think she should return, her diary was full and it was time to come to the library. however I would like to see something similar, having someone from the doctors own persnal future

You can really tell that for River, THoRS is right after 'The Angels take manhattan' (where she was noticeably fed up with the Doctor's immaturity) whereas for him it's been a pretty long time, he's been lectured by Ashildr on avoiding endings etc. and when he hears River's speech he realizes how much his avoidance & communication fail has really hurt her feelings - fortunately he got a chance to put it right before the end. Capaldi does a good job at the subtle 'oh shit' expressions, too.
River's timeline with the doctor is so heartbreaking... I honestly wanted more of River with the other doctors, or even a special with the past ones...

Yes! Whittaker's doctor is very keen and upbeat and seeing River when she no longer expects to would have to end up in some very playful, rapid banter.

Although you might wonder how much this alternate version of her would still be the same person. So you could reasonably interpret this either as an even bigger sacrifice than it already is, or as her being more or less doomed to die here because else she wouldn't exist. One wonders if it crossed her mind.
I wish so hard that RTD made her return to the show, River and the Doctor NEED TO BE WITH EACH OTHER FOR ALL THE ETERNITY or at least for some more time (because lovingly renembering someone =\= actually being with them) I just love their relationship so much, they are so adoring, caring, and just harmonious (I love DoctoRose sm too! The River who met him knew that the Doctors regenerating powers were gone, therefore only 11th's face was supposed to be the Doctors face! but at a later point in time another River transferred her regenerating powers to him which is why she doesnt recognise 12
