This is the greenscreen I would recommend. If it was available when I bought mine I would have gone with it.

not only is your content always helpful, but your sense of humor makes all this tech stuff enjoyable! Thanks!
I appreciate that!
I've watched Steve for Eon's...and he has a wonderful personality indeed!
I had to tell myself. "Stop laughing and concentrate" every now and then. You make learning fun.
Great job Steve.
Me too
Farley stole the show!!! I am just loving that real life moment you kept in there!!
Thank you for the instructions for using the green screen with a virtual background. I had used your technique for the Zoom video conference, which was hosted by the law firm I work for. Since most of us work from home because of the state-mandated lockdown during this 2020 pandemic, I had thought of selecting one of the pictures. Which I had personally taken using my digital camera. My colleagues had only their own unaltered room settings in the background, while mine was a picture of colorful boats, which were docked at the National Harbor. Again, thank you!
You can always learn something from Steve. This Zoom presentation is an excellent example.
Hi Steve, as a long time subscriber and Patreon member of dottotech, I just want to say, it's great to see you doing so many regular dottotech videos again. keep up the good work.
Awesome, thank you!
Can you use virtual backgrounds on an ipad?
Brilliant video, I have just learnt more with this 11 minute video than ever. Thanks for posting and now subscribed.
Awesome, thank you!
Oh, Farley. I truly laughed out loud. Love your videos and teachings, Steve. I have followed you for years. You do AMAZING work.
Thanks Steve! Very timely. I meet virtually with my Toastmaster’s group on Friday mornings. Today was our third virtual meeting using Zoom.
I uploaded some video from a recent cruise to Canva into a social media template. Then, I exported it to Zoom. I spent the downtime during our meeting showing videos of my trip (synchronized swimmers, dune buggy rides, and zipline adventures) by changing my green screen background. It was fun!
Sounds great!
If you do distance teaching live over zoom, you can match your background to what you are talking about. I.e. if you are teaching history and are talking about WW1 you can have a picture from the war as your backdrop. It just gives a little spice to your teaching.
Thank you for your videos, they are much appreciated!
That is a GREAT idea to do for learning!!!
Good idea, thanks 👍
Thanks Steve, your info on this and the audio sharing video were homeruns. Had a happy hour with my friends Friday and played DJ...worked great. Appreciate your help in this new era of socializing.
I find your presentations particularly informative and pleasant.
You nailed it. I thought I was pretty good with Zoom but I learned alot.
panache (noun): the quality of being able to do things in a lively and confident way that other people find attractive (source: oxford learner's dictionaries)
Spending time with you is always valuable. Thank you!
So nice of you
Thanks so much for your Zoom tutorials, Steve! For one thing, I had no idea the green screen technique was so simple. I'm doing my first solo (driving the bus) Zoom presentation tonight for the Cityscape Photo Boston Meetup group, and I feel much better now that I've gone through your intro video and this video.
The eye drop tool was such a useful addition! Will definitely bring it to my fellow teachers' attention as one keeps joking about taping green paper to everyone's whiteboard. Also, love the fact that you've done your video as personal as possible through this medium. Was nice to feel like I was being spoken to real time with real interruptions (helped that you landed well with the Star Trek reference!).
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you, Santa! You delivered this year. You showed me how to use a personal pic for virtual background!
Thank you so much for going the extra mile to share your zoom experience.
My pleasure!
it was cool, man! I like it! We need more your dog and Sophie!
They have minds of their own, I suspect both will make cameos in the future!
Use a green screen and wear a green shirt. Zoom calls are more fun when you’re a floating head.
I love that idea! Gonna tell the wife to wear a green shirt, and set your screen to green. hehe!
That's hilarious! Thanks for the tip!
Don't the *shades* of the 'two greens' have to be identical in order to have this work?
Word Carr Not with Zoom.
As he said, it isn't limited to green. I have a brown drape.
Works WONDERFULLY, with brown! Problem, is that I have brown hair.
Loved the short "tell me what I need to know right now" topic video! Thanks!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Steve you are the BEST! thanks for keeping the humor alive and being on point! :)
I really like iglasses from ecamm for cleaning up and controlling live video from cameras. particularly useful if you have to use more than one meeting service and want the same video setup.
Shawn Butts ... will ecamm work WITH Zoom? I’m finally getting up to speed on live stream etc
That’s great - my son just today got me going on Zoom and I did try out the background thing. There was a bit of wonky things going on so it is nice to learn my blue screen will take all that away. I am using it on my iPad and found by also connecting with the iPhone there was a two camera view. This blue screen works so well I would like to use it for videos if I only knew how to do screen capture with my iPad.
Hi Steve. Just wanted to say thank you. You're video are just great - pace, quality, content etc. But you're personality is what keeps me coming back. Bill
I was trying to give pointers to my client. Halfway through it, I recognized your voice from your watching your TV episodes ages ago. Thanks for keeping up the good work.
We have been using zoom since this started. I am surprised with how good the green screen looks. Funny to see that you have the same problems with your dog.
I was hesitant to watch this because I didn't think I'd be interested in video effects, but of course I've now learned something that I expect to use, despite myself, lol.
Very cool! When I first saw someone using the setting, I HAD to find out how. Thanks for sharing with us.
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks once again Steve for inviting me in "behind the curtain" of the magic. Learned alot from the experience.
I love when your dog popped up... now that's real life for me! My dog is so spoiled having me home all day now. He wants me to throw his frizbee with him all day now. Love the video! I shared it with my coworkers. This is all new to us, so thank you for your help.
That is awesome!
Hi, I really love the whole Zoom presentation. Also, the active & supportive staff...(Sophie) LOL...with special participation of cute puppy. Best regards...Glend
Thank you so much!
Oh my life! Living for the time lapse of you setting up the green screen!
Awesome Tutorial. Thank You.
Virtual background seems to only be available in Windows and Apple operating systems. I do not see it in the Chrome extension on my Chromebook nor in the Android tablet app.
Hey Steve. I’ve always loved your videos before but, during our locked down time, they are a breath of fresh air. Also got a chuckles from Farley’s interference with your green screen. I needed that laugh!! Thx!! As always your content was very helpful!!! 😁👍
That is awesome!
Hey Steve you are amazing. I specially like your way of talking, it's so engaging as well as entertaining. Love from Pakistan
Steve, I totally loved your video tutorial. It was fun and engaging and I was able to watch you on one computer monitor and work along in another monitor pausing at intervals when needed. Great job. Love your work. From a small business in Australia who has just started using Zoom :) Thank you Tina
Thanks for the great tips. I don’t see in my zoom app all the same choices you are showing. For example, I can’t find any of those fake background. Do you have to be a paid subscribers to have that or is that included in the free version? Thanks.
I got the virtual background and I don't have a paid subscription. But I'm still working on the green screen issue....🤔. I guess I'll hafto buy one😒
Do you mean the ones under his screen? I read too that Zoom comes with a couple but I don't have any either. You just have to upload whatever you want to use.
Update: After I added mine, the Zoom ones appeared the next time I opened Zoom.
As an FYI, if you're using an older Mac such as my 2014 version, the virtual background feature doesn't work. You need an i7 processor. A regular green screen will work, but the virtual green screen will not.
Great feedback! Thanks
Stephen Carter ... I had that issue w my 2018 (might be older) iMac ... but it seemed to be available one I did the last update.
@@coachconstance5228 . Here's the message I received from Zoom when attempting to use the virtual green screen on my 2014 MacBook Pro: "To use virtual background without a green screen, your Mac OS version needs to be 10.13 or higher and, your processor must be an Intel Core i5 with a quad-core or better." I'm running OS version 10.14.06 so that requirement is met. I said earlier you needed an i7, but in rechecking, the message now claims an i5 with quad-core will work. Either my memory (my brain, not the computer) was faulty or they changed the message. In any case, I have an i5, but the error message shows up nevertheless. Your previous OS version must have been a 10.12.xx or earlier so after updating the OS you're now able to use the virtual green screen. I'm holding off updating to Catalina pending an update to an application I use that isn't working properly under Catalina.
Thoroughly enjoyed this Sir.
Thanks for the substance nicely wrapped up in fun.
Thanks for your tips.
I have just seen that you have already answered this question - so no need to reply - thanks.
Hi I would love to do this

Excellent webinar! Thank you.
You are a God send. I'm researching for my mother's memorial and your are truly blessing me. Sincerely, Thank you 😊
Glad I could help!
Hi Steve, While learning to ZOOM and simultaneously cleaning-up my email inbox, both via your videos, I hit a bump in the road. According to the Zoom App, my computer "doesn't meet the minimum requirements to use this feature without a green screen." Huh?
Yes Robert, it is processor intensive, so if you don't have the hardware to do the job it will not let you try.
@@dottotech what is the minimum requirement. I have a good configuration on my office laptop and I still get this message. Is this a glitch from Zoom?
I would avoid Zoom at this point based on a host of security related issues they are having which have not been resolved.
This may help

My favorite green screen tutorial yet!
Thanks a lot, Steve. This will help in my online meetings. The background can match the basic theme of the talk. Gracias, amigo.
Very helpful. And I loved the humor and comedy added as you were setting up the green screen. lol
Excellent pacing and fun, e.g., Mr. Farrelly. Thank you much.
You certainly have my thumbs up. Thank you so much. Your content is great and you have a wonderful personality!
Best video tutorials THANKS
Subscribed.....as always Mr Dotto brilliant, simple, amusing and informative. Thank-you
I have been searching for this information in a way that I can access and understand and am so thankful to have found your video. Thanks so much!
Glad it was helpful!
You are fantastic & so real! Just found you last week and immediately subscribed. Just started using zoom for potential board meetings and really like how you teach us. Looking forward to seeing you again. Thank you.
Awesome! Thank you!
Thank you for not wasting my time! Your instructions were so useful, even your dog showed interest!
Thank you for adding humor into excellent educational videos!!
Thanks so much! Had a failed attempt at trying to use the background in Zoom. You've given me the inspiration to try again :)
Glad I could help!
Very helpful in explaining why my virtual background looks 'fake' and clearly demonstrating each step - your visual and verbal instructions are exceptional. Thank you.
Thanks, Steve for sharing, great tutorial.
Great presentation. Really enjoyable to watch and informative. Thanks.
Another great video. Thanks for the tips.
Just what I was looking for - great job Steve!
Thank you SO much, super helpful AND entertaining! :)
Been looking for that setting !
This was great fun. I especially like the spontaneity of trying the tool for the first time! Also, as an ex-pat living south of the border for almost thirty years, it's nice to hear someone pronounce "out" properly. I'm going to share this with the faculty!
Cool, thanks!
Hi
Very good! Informative and you made me smile with the dog antics! Lol! Loved!
Appreciate this, thank you!
Really nice video, presence and to the point content. Thank you Steve
I love your relaxed style. The information you share is invaluable. Thanks.
Thanks for watching!
For someone that is clueless to the savvy tech and gadget world. You have helped me so much. Keep up the Good work, Steve. A1
Glad to help
Thank you for the video. when I start using the zoom, I also had difficulty in setting up my virtual background. :)
Excellent!
Very helpful, Steve, this video and the last one are great. At our church we are having to use zoom and it helps to use the screen photo at our home where others enter and don't want to be seen, I can mute and with the screen, no one is the wiser.
pretty helpful. thank u very much
thank you for investing your time to help us!
As always, a great explanation - thanks Steve.
Glad you enjoyed it
LOVE your content. Thanks for how you show up in the world.

So glad to hear, Charo!
Glad to find you again after so many years. I used to watch you on TV (many moons ago)
I loved how basic this video was as it really was so informative and provided great value.
So glad!
Thanks for the green screen lesson. I use my WEBTALK background and had issues with distortion! Very helpful!
Thank you! I'll be having some fun in my school meetings soon :)
Great video and appreciate your style of lecturing.
wow..that was incredible! thanks for that touch up appearance
This was what I was looking for and thanks for the tip on how to solve green screen issues. Thumb up for sure!
Very informative for this newbie. Thank you

Hi . Thank you for making it interesting and happy to listen. Learnt it !
