I have a 300BLK in an AR straight pull as we are not allowed semi auto centre fire rifles in the UK. It has a handle attached to the bolt and you have to cock it manually each shot...very quick when you get used to it. There are a number of benefits to this in that there is no mechanical noise so as quiet as a bolt action and super accurate and capable of consistent sub moa at 100 yards. I look after the local golf club in controlling foxes at night. I have both thermal and digital NV scopes that have multiple zero profiles. So I have set up zeros for 50 yards subsonic with big heavy cast bullets and a 100 yard supersonic zero using Nosler 110gr Varmageddons. There are a number of houses that back onto the golf course so when near them, I can quickly switch between supersonic to subsonic and vice versa and change the zero profile on the NV scope. The only thing to watch out for is those large slow moving cast subs behave like a giant 22 and bounce (even of relatively soft ground) like anything but absolutely devasting on foxes. PS the only firearms related things we do better than you in the US is that the police firearms licensing authorities can't give us authority to purchase suppressors fast enough to avoid be sued for hearing loss. None of this nonsense ATF tax stamp stuff😁
I'm trying to get into reloading, so 556, 300blk, and 350 legend had the same parent cartridge and used the same bcg in my AR. Seemed like a good family of cartridges to get into.
Ruger American .300blk has been amazing. Have the gen 1 version and the action has been very smooth with Lancer .300blk magazines. Run it with the Vortex PST LPVO, Dead Air Nomad-L w/ the wipe endcap. It's very amusing hearing the gas slowly releasing from a fresh wipe, like a fart. Manual action .300blk is great for those who reload, no picking up or losing brass. I have a few boxes of Maker 220gr projectiles if I want good effect with subs, never tried the Sub-X but they appear like basic pistol JHP's, not great at all. Definitely need to buy the good stuff if you want the best defensive subs like Makers or Lehigh.
Not many suppressors on the market for effectively suppressing .458. Not a lot of volume given the bullet size. I like my Tromix .458 Socom but it's not even remotely close to being as quiet as my .300blk.

Hard to believe that the 300 Whisper started over 30 years ago. Thank you JD
🙌
Loving the content guys, keep it coming! Fairly new sub here and just wanted to show some love for the work you guys are doing
Very much appreciated!

Great family to get into reloading with...especially here in Appalachia!
Respect!
Anyone who says and think 300blk is lacking for deer haven't done it and ill informed
Yep. 300Blk works great for most game in the US. Sadly, in Ohio, we’re straight-wall only. So 350 Legend is our go to.
@@BUCKEYESHOOTINGCENTER WTH happened to my home state. They keep making dumb laws.

👏🏻👏🏻 ar 8” .300 from PSA 🎯
300blk bolt guns are too much fun
Could not agree more!
Supercute rifle with the 6 incher! Nice to see. Why not do a 458 SOCOM in similar profile thou? Would be a step up, but still able to shoot subs.

Monsoon Tactical M&P
Not a Monsoon gun, you wouldn’t want to customize this thing 😁
Ok, uh Maxim 9?
Why in a urban environment
Not sure what you mean?
Dude this is cool. I've been looking at the savage 110 PCS in 300aac for this build. Just sucks its a left hand bolt cause its a handgun.
I’ve seen those. If you SBR it (or use a brace), you don’t have to move your hand off the fire controls at least. 🤷♂️

Not a Monsoon gun this time around.
