Just bought a new Karcher K2 Universal Edition in Spain. I bought a Karcher about 10 years ago and used it just once a year. Recently there was no pressure whatsoever with the old one, even after cleaning the filter, I assume the rubber pressure valves had perished. Unlike my old Basic model this new one has no tube for soap intake although the hole is there, neither is it mentioned in the operating manual, so now not included as and extra. My older model like this new one came with the cone shaped wand head this became blocked with silt that had bypassed the filter and rendered it unusable. Since a new Karcher wand is so expensive, I bought a universal wand by Sterwins (Leroy Merlins own brand) at half the price, it works a treat. I will be using this wand with my new Karcher. The older model cone wand had a ball bearing, I see the new one is different, maybe a welcoming change to a design fault. We live in an area of Spain where the water is hard (lot of calcium build up) this doesn't help.
This K2 model is used so broadly in terms of models. I got a K2 compact carkit. With the same lances. But also a brush and a spray gun. Yet it does not have that handy tube at the back. Yet what I find strange, the hole is there. And after watching some repair vids. My my model simply doesn't have the hose connect to the end of the motor system. Wonder why they did not add a hose as well to this model. I'm looking to find a hose which fits and I will add it myself
Having watched this useful video I think I'll go for the next model up as this one doesn't have the roundy attachment thing which means my lovely painted walls would be destroyed! Another thing, Zimpax: you might want to think about changing your Z logo. Not ideal at the moment, unfortunately.
This was very helpful thank you! Do you mind sharing what kind of garden hose you used? I need to order one yet, but can't quite tell if it's just a standard hose I need, or a special one for this washer?
Did you find any info for how long at a time you can use this model. Ive learned these are air-cooled, they also state max work area of about 20m/2. Thats not much so i guess some around 5-10m per run and then let it cool down
Hope this model is studier that the BLack&Decker pw1450 i got 3 weeks ago. THat one just broke while using for the second time. The freaking internals of the spray gun simply split, there was a hair line crack in the plastic and water kept poring out of the gun and the engine would not shut off. Luckily i got a refund. Now looking into this model but the one with either car kit or car kit & home kit. Also do need to get a transformer along since i dont have 220 here :( Since its 1400w i need a pretty powerful one, quickly adds up to the total price, kinda shitty. But there are hardly any 110 models here
Just brought this and no idea how to change heads the extension pole won’t come off to use my garden patrio head and cannot get my head round the fact I was stupid enough to not know it requires a hose 😂
Yeah I’d wrap the wall inlet plug lead around the k2 itself, then get a hanging bracket of some form & wrap the thicker cabling around that in a shed or something
What I find bad about the brand is that in the English manual, it's not stated that the unit max usage is like 10 minutes per run. Any longer and you probably over heat it. This is how ever states in the Spanish manual.. that's kust plain weird!
Apologies for the slightly funky frame rate in some of the shots in this video. Didn’t realise I had the shutter speed turned way down!

@@Boo-pv4hn where does it leak from?
Thank you young man, found that really useful. For the cost - £90 in Argos - it looks to do a good job and certainly as much as I need one for.

Sorry, Zimpaz , not Zimpax!

I bought mine in 2020 during lock down and its been great, love it.
I bet your not the only one! Lots of things got pressure washed in 2020
How is the foam as there is no lance in it

First! Why I went for a K4 pressure washer which is larger, but gives way better cable management & lance holder.
Yes it is annoying. K4 must be a beast?
I think it was. Used it once & lent it to my father in law, that was 2 years ago 😅.
fills my 10x15 foot bedroom with plenty of cool air. The remote is so handy by the bed at night.
This is a pressure washer…
Which of the two heads is the more powerful? The smooth head or the one with lines in?
Thank you soooo much xx
How do I know how much foam/detergent to put in ?
Fabulous demo thank you
Hi. Just bought the K2 compact + Home +Car kit. It doesn't seem to have the detergent suction hose.
It’s on the back on the right hand side. It pulls out from inside the unit
Thanks very much for this video - it really helped.

Can we attach external filter hose inorder to give extra protection does external filter fits on this one?
Why not add and filter to your hose tap for extra protection.
Great video thanks 😊
Thank you

Can it intake water from a bucket instead of a tap ?
No. The hose intake is for soap etc
Is it very loud?
Yes it is quite loud
Where's the patio attachment the round yellow one, other K2 have it, not this one.
Correct the compact doesn’t come with it. I have one from my old K2 that I use
@@Zimpaz is it any better than using the standard hose jet attachments on the k2
Guess thats why its one of the cheaper models. kinda weird it is missing to wrap that power cable around
Guess i would rather wrap the power cable around that holder and store the gun and power hose separately
Yeah I’d wrap the wall inlet plug lead around the k2 itself, then get a hanging bracket of some form & wrap the thicker cabling around that in a shed or something

Interesting! I’m gonna use it to do my patio soon which will probably take an hour….let’s see how it fairs!
@@Zimpaz hi! Just bought it and plan on doing the back garden, could take 30-40mins. Have you used yours for this length yet?
@@Juvie99 ran it for 60 minutes on and off absolutely fine
@@Zimpaz fair play thanks a mil. I'll unbox it so. Appreciate it take care
👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
I bought this in Pakistan in 2019 from a retail shop and they gave me only one nozzle attachment.
Was the box sealed?
My new Karcher K2 only has one wand attachment.
Others don't overheat
Ok
My biggest fan 😍
Car?
Perfect for a car
Plenty of power for an electric.
Getting your feet wet.🤣
I know! Should have worn wellies
