- I needed to do some patio cleaning and it was far cheaper to buy a pressure washer than pay to get the work done. I spent a week looking at the options and settled for the Karcher K2 from Screwfix. I had owned a Karcher machine years ago and it gave great service and so it was an easy decision.
I paid the full advertised price from Screwfix and am a very pleased customer. It has proved to be a very popular video and I have now made three K5 videos -

I found the review to be very helpful.

Just a suggestion. Pls mention the attachment specifications such as input tube size and any converter/attachment needed.
I truly would like to thank you for making this video. My machine is almost identical and I was struggling with the pressure hose not clicking. After watching your well detail assembly I noticed my mistake just in time before turning the machine on for the first time. Great video.

Just got the karcher 2 myself. I wasn't expecting much but like you I was astounded how good it was. My patio is like new! I've not used the patio attachment yet, I didn't think it would be worth it. I thought the spray wand did such a good job but after seeing you use it and how good it was I'll definately use it next time.

Within a few days after seeing this video I searched out and bought one of these instruments.
I live in a very large home near Atlanta, GA, USA; and we "pressure cleaned" the entire house. It is every thing Peter said it was.
I have no leaks. The handle did not stay up after it was installed. Also, the "Dirt Blaster" wand failed quickly. I called Karcher and they had a new one here in less than 5 days. It works like a charm. I did not tell them about the handle, because I simply forgot about it. But I am going to call them and have them ship me a new one. I am sure they will.
One word of caution. I only had a 5/8", 100" hose from my spigot; on a large part of my house; after using a 50' on it where I could reach. There was a noticeable reduction in the strength of the spray when pressure washing; for whatever it's worth. But it was NOT weak enough to keep us from using it to clean our home; albeit a slower time. Next time I will buy a 3/4" , 100' hose. I am sure that will help immeasurably when it comes to pressure.

Perfect review even for a South African!!
I had the original Karcher which I purchased around 20 years ago and only last year replaced it with the K4. I have tried other makes but personally I swear by Karcher for pressure washers around the home. I am sure that the more industrial types are superior but at the price I would not invest when the Karcher does the job that I need. Thank you Peter for showing your experience and I agree the detergent is not worth the extra it costs.

a word of advice peter, make sure the washer is stored well in winter, a very hard frost of minus 3 or 4 will ruin the pump if it has residual water in it when put away.
because of the plastic parts in it,even inside a garage if it gets down lower than that,
ive lost more than one pressure washer like that, i now store it inside a cupboard in my garage with an old blanket round it.
commercial machines have metal in their pumps and are not as susceptible.

don't get the lance that close to your paint it will damage it over time.
Thanks for a PROPER review. So many people review items without really testing it properly. I like how this fine gentleman actually tested the need of the detergent and its obvious that in basic usage it is not needed. Thank you very much.

I concur. It's also been my experience that these "detergents" are rubbish and just plain water will do the job just as well as using these unneeded detergents.

My husband I purchased one of these. It is now MINE I love it, I have chronic arthritis and cleaning is difficult to say the least. I am unable to clean the exterior of the house or the driveway in a day, however that is simply because my body fails me. This cleaner however does not. I have cleaned part of the front of the house, the mail box, and part of the driveway I haven’t touched the universal cleaner yet as I simply haven’t needed to. I am going to be using it again today for the third day in a row, I am looking around the exterior of the house and in my head adding it to my list of things I am cleaning next! I love it, it is incredibly light and so easy to put together and use I would recommend it to anyone and everyone

I have a 10-15yr old JCB but I can't buy a 'rotating nozzle patio cleaning head' to fit as every manufacturer, stupidly, has not standardised. I've just ordered an adaptor which might just work (if I'm lucky) and now that I've seen your video I'm even more desperate to obtain one of these rotary cleaning heads.
If that fails I'm encouraged that the model you demonstrated will be adequate for my needs which helps to clear the fog of Karcher model proliferation.

I think it's fair to say that we assume that the newest model of anything is the best. But the K2 does the trick nicely! No doubt cheaper than the latest model I would think!
I must say you are a great presenter, and more importantly you covered all of the main and important points without beating around the bush.Just one important thing though, I made this mistake twice - do not leave it in your shed over winter as the frost will ruin it -Karcher does warm you of this I had to refund mine as it stopped working, so will be keeping it in the garage now, Many Thanks for the video.

I managed to assemble the Karcher and then watched the video which was excellent. The only thing I found hard was trying to push in the attachments. I have just used it and the T-bar was really good. I purchased this from B@Q, it was £90 and received the 10% off on Wednesdays, costing me £81. Really pleased with my purchase.

Wish I had seen this before I put mine together yesterday ! The instructions tell you how to get started but I couldn’t see how to use the extension pole or the circulating thingy. Might have saved my back. Anyway, will keep this. Thank you.
