      You got a denman this morning????
      That's crazy!!! Let me know if you have any luck.
      Yeah, I think most people separate their coils on day 1 itself for more volume. I preferred them on day 3 when they were a bit broken up. I lost definition near the roots because I've been working out and stuff but all in all it looked nice even without any serums or refreshes. I was pretty happy.

      @@MichelleManuel hii so first i decided to try your earlier method of styling away from the scalp using vertical sections. worked well then but even better the second time when i used slightly larger sections to get some tension. got really nice, semi-tight coils due to the larger sections that easily lasted 3 days.
      think they'd last longer if i tried this method but my hand coordination isn't at that level yet. hopefully will be soon!

    Just wanted to know what all tips and precautions we need to follow if we get highlights/colour done on our hair. Whether it's advisable for curly hair or not.

    • @MichelleManuel
      @MichelleManuel  3 года назад +2

      If you're following cgm, colouring your hair is a big no no.
      Of you're following a modified version of cg like I am, then you make your own rules. If you want to colour your hair and are ok with it, go ahead. But remember that you will need to then treat and in turn take care of your hair as you would, higher porosity.
      Dc often, spend more time curl training. Lock in moisture with an oil or gel. Use a serum to prevent moisture loss post day 1. Stuff like that.

    Hi Michelle.. as usual your hair is such goals!! Though in my personal opinion I like your hair the way u normally style.. it just looks so pretty with ringlets that I almost drool 😁 ❤️ I feel like I'm still not getting there. My hair has become curlier but it looks so dull. Thought I'm missing protien but I'm worried it can make my hair frizzy .. do u have any suggestions to get back some shine for low density and low porosity hair..

    • @MichelleManuel
      @MichelleManuel  3 года назад +1

      Thanks Simrat. I agree with you. I like my usual styling routine too. It works best on my hair type I feel.
      I think you should watch my protein moisture balance playlist. It should definitely help you navigate ingredients better. Have a look and let me know if you have questions.

    • @MichelleManuel
      @MichelleManuel  3 года назад +1

      There's always a chance of frizz. Too much moisture and you'll have frizz. Too much protein and you'll have frizz. But a little bit of the right protein can help at times.
      If you're having an issue with moisture penetrating the hair shaft, then add some heat to your routine in the form of a heat cap or warm towel and see if it makes a difference.

    • @simi1369
      @simi1369 3 года назад

      Have watched your video on protien moisture balance.. but was sceptical to buy .. as I didn't want another product to be just lying there.. I have very fine hair n I shed if am especially combing or styling on wet hair that's why I stopped the cg method in between.. but ur videos helped me to start again.. back to the topic.. I did try applying some Yogurt as a source of protein.. just to see if it works and it did 😁 I know you mentioned all these diy doesn't really penetrate well into our hair.. but I'm surprised to see the effect of it.. I'll definitely purchase a good protien dc and the shower cap ❤️

      When I explain things and demonstrate infront of a camera, it takes me a good 20 to 25 mins. But if I'm doing it on my own and have a mirror infront of me, its much faster. It's a technique you have to master. Once you know what you're doing and which way to move the brush, your speed increases drastically

    Hi Michelle, I've recently started CGM, thanks to your videos. But if I may request you to make a video on differentiating between Denman fake and original brushes. There seems to be a lot of fake ones out there in the market. I had to research a lot on this topic and finally had to connect with Denman customer service to know if I had the original Denman brush (thank god it was). I can help with some pictures if you need. Since they have recently changed the logo on the brush (as confirmed by the Denman CS team), it is actually quite confusing to differentiate. Also, a video on Denman range of brushes if possible would help (there are sooo many types)

I think I have medium to high porosity hair. I've been using the fix my curls protein bundle. The leave-in is making my hair greasy (the mid-length and ends). Hair looks matte and not glossy. (I hope you understand what I'm trying to say. It's not the shampoo and conditioner for sure because I didn't use the leave in one day and my hair looked fine (all over the place but fine). Please help! Please suggest products I can use as well. Thank you!

    I would love any feedback anyone is willing to give. I am new to the wavy hair method and have been doing it for about 3-4 weeks. My hair is very long and reaches down to my tail bone. My hair is also fine. I've ended up with some really nice spirals and clumps during the process however it takes hours for my hair to air dry. Because it's so long I find it difficult to let it air dry without messing up the gel cast. I bought a diffuser. I have only dried it twice so far with the diffuser and each time I end up with nice tight waves, however it tends to flatten out within hours. If I let my hair airdry I will often have waves for 2-3 days but sometimes it will flatten out much sooner. Any thoughts? I sometimes feel like I'm going to all this extra work without getting lasting results which makes me feel like it's pointless.
    I'm still figuring out what works best for me obviously but I also find that my hair feels grimey from all the product. How normal is this? Is this just part of the transition phase?

      I've noticed that the longer my hair is the flatter it looks because of it gets weighed down.
      Keep trying and use a hard hold gel, maybe you'll have better luck.

Thank youuu :)

      Ahhh. This is a tricky one. I haven't gotten my hands on curly hair products available on Australia.
      I could name some curly brands. Would that help?
      John Freda
      Mark Anthony
      Maui moisture
      Ogx
      Vitafive
      Shea moisture
      Bumble and Bumble
      You could maybe get the Aussie gel, dipity do girls with curls hair gel or the Umberto gianini hair gel on amazon or boots. It's available on look fantastic as well.
      Hope this helps.

    how do you know what direction to go? one clump of my waves changes directions half way down :/

    • @MichelleManuel
      @MichelleManuel  3 года назад +1

      Oh wow. That's a first. Thanks for bringing this up.
      So my hair goes in 2 different directions too. With time I was able to figure it out. If at all during styling your hair started resisting and going in different direction just reverse the direction.
      Let me try to explain this better. Denman rolls are considered to be curl manipulation. It's an artificial curl that you're forming. The moment the hair starts resisting and wants to go in a different direction, just change the direction of the brush. There's a good chance your hair won't resist it and take to it better.

    New to your chanel 🧡.
    Are there any major differences between the D143 and D3 crush?

    • @MichelleManuel
      @MichelleManuel  3 года назад +1

      The D143 is a small travel size brush. It has 5 rows. You can expect smaller clumps.
      The D3 is a 7 row larger brush. You get larger clumps with it (in my opinion) if you remove the middle rows the clumps are even larger.

      No no not necessarily. Sometimes products pill and bunch up. It happens with thick creamy formulations. Try emulsifying the product with some water in your palms like I showed in the video. Let me know if it makes a difference.

    Don't know if it's just me but i feel the denman effect takes away the natural curly look. Like everywhere i go people ask me if my curls are natural. With the denman effect on my hair no one would believe me if i said it was natural 🤧 lol!!

    • @MichelleManuel
      @MichelleManuel  3 года назад +1

      Absolutely agree. One some hair types the Denman looks totally normal since their curls is big clumpy and coily usually. Whereas on some hair types it looks somewhat artificial.
      I tried coils on my mum's hair and they looks for nice. It just enhanced what she already has.

But before i was following curling hair i used to shed a lot like day before the wash day i will keep my hair detangle to make it easy. So during that day as well and the wash day hait falls a lot. It is lot more than tha hair gathered together of my daily shedding. Should i stop this curling hair method

      If your hair is weak and if prone to breakage, then maybe any type of brush styling isn't for you.
      You'd rather use techniques that have zero combing and raking.
      Try praying hands and scrunching. Let me know what happens.
      Try to include some small protein in your washday and see if it helps improve the strength of your hair.
      Also try to Pre-poo and see if it helps.

      Is there anything that you changed in between?
      Did you by any chance happen to watch my playlist on hair advice tips and motivation?
      I spoke about maintaining a journal* for your hair. Noting down what you used, how much you used, the techniques etc
      Some products give you more skrinkage and some give you more stretched out results.
      Some techniques also enhance curl pattern more than other.
      Are you spending enough time curl training?
      You are squishing to condish? Are you neglecting that step?
      I could write an essay on why this is happening. I would request you to examine and identify the root of the issue. Let me know if you have any luck
