For anyone researching these packs to decide whether you would like to buy one - I would like to add a little info for you to consider. #1 I'm 6'2" and I have the bag stock as it comes from the factory. I have gone on long distance hikes with around 40lbs. No frame, just packed it smart. It was extremely comfortable. No hip belt, no frame, no extra pouches. Just the chest strap. #2 This G1 Little Brother fits inside the Warhammer pack and similarly, is part of the Skycrane II pack. I thought I would be smart and buy the Little Brother first since they sell separately and get the Skycrane II the next month or month after when I could adequately afford it. Surprisingly, they do not sell the SkyCrane II without the Little Brother, however you CAN buy the War Hammer without the Little Brother. Nothing wrong at all with the War Hammer. I'm just searching high and low for someone selling the base SkyCrane pack minus the little brother. So, if you're looking for an AMAZING 3 day pack or even a caddilac of a ThruHike pack (as long as you're not trying to go ultralite) this pack is it. I also do long thruhikes and I have very light gear as well as not so light gear for when I go camping. I don't mind carrying a bit of weight, if its something worth hauling. I can get my Little Brother down to about 17lbs with trekking poles, hammock, rain gear, underquilt, sleeping bag and some common sense emergency gear. To me, it's worth having the presence of mind that the zippers will not fail, the fabric will not rip and I can use this bag and not have to be fragile with it. Damn. I should do a review. Peace out, guys. I LOVE THIS CHANNEL!!!
For someone who used this pack a lot, do i need a raincover and how does it perform in rain? they say nothing about water repellant or proofness so i guess its getting soaked pretty fast
Thanks brother! I appreciate your kind words. As for the Little Brother, it's a great pack. At the time I ordered it they didn't have a matching coyote hip belt so I went with the grey color. I just took a look at their site and the only have dry earth (which I ordered) and Mil Green. I hope that helps my friend.
after seeing this i checked out their website and fell in love w/ the skycrane II which this bag is a part of.was looking at a molle II or filbe ..but i like the versatillity of the skycrane more.
I bought the kelty redwing 44 liter (2650 cubic inches) internal frame pack off of amazon for 80 dollars. I just checked and it looks like they increased the price to 100 dollars. I took it on a day hike trip with my outdoor leadership class and it was Great. Very comfortable. Plenty of room for what I needed. Before I used a maxpediton condor 2 and shoulder straps killed.
Hey there Meta, how are you? With the G1 Little Brother I absolutely love it and it really is a 3 day pack. In other words it offers a ton of space; much more than the FILBE Assault pack and more than you would need for a day-hike. I would consider it (FILBE) more of a day-hike bag than a 3 day pack. Overall the G1 is terrific. It handles weight very well. Get the frame though as you will notice a difference with it.
Nice video! Man, seeing the pack in action was great. It really helped put the size of the pack in perspective seeing you haul it around. That thing has much more space than I initially thought. Your footage also did a good job of showing off the dry earth color in varied lighting conditions. Thanks!
So true my friend. A good example of that would be the ILBE Assault pack. You can carry it but it will rub ya raw if you have a heavy load. How are you liking the Redwing? What size did you get? Thanks again mate.
Been looking at this pack but it looks very close to my advanced mountaineering pack recon pack, Which I paid $140 for. Dual side handles. Top handles. Padded hip belt. Front and top opening. Covered in molle. I may just keep my pack. Lol.
Hey Luke, I got the halftrack. couldn't be happier. I think you would love the psk chest rig kit. You can attach an accessory pouch on your chest between the waistbelt and shoulder straps. You can put your quick access items in there and it really handy without taking your whole pack off. Check it out, I think you'll dig it!
You are welcome my friend. I'm uploading a video today with the G1 Little Brother and my loadout for a upcoming camping trip. You might find it interesting. Take care!
Solid looking bag! It looks really comfortable with those wide shoulder straps. Most packs I have I wish the shoulder straps were bigger, but I recently got a kelty redwing which is really comfortable. Thanks for the review and Take Care.
Hey I really love all your videos and your starting to hurt my pockets lol jk but I wanted your opinion I’m wanting a over built pack with Molle all over like the filbe assault pack or the T3 Tactical 3-Day Assault Hydration Backpack, or the maxpedition Falcon 3 and it has to have at least 1000d Cordura and big beefy zippers I don’t want anything bigger than 30L I have other big packs this will be more so a edc pack but it has to be loaded up with Molle. Any suggestions? And is this pack burly and over built feeling?
do you find the ports in the top pocket to render the pocket useless? Seems the only thing you can put up there is a rain cover or rolled up jacket without slipping out the holes.
would there be a difference between this configuration with the eberlestock g1 little brother and 1 saddle bag on each side vs eberlestock halftrack (other than the capability to hold a scabbard)?
great vid. trying to decide between this and the halftrack. The seller for me would be if you can unzip the top half of the pack and leave the bottom half zipped and insert a small rifle in the expansion port without purchasing a scabbard? Is that possible? Thanks for any info, great channel btw, thoroughly enjoy it!
I have a backpacking trip coming up and I bought the filbe main pack. I think it might be too heavy. I am thinking of buying the g1 little brother. Do you think it is suitable for a 3day 2 night backpacking trip?
I was looking for something larger than a day pack and it seems I have misjudged just how much space is offered by the G1. I was thinking of purchasing the skycrane 2 (which includes the G1 without the frame), if I do that I'll be sure to order the frame separately since I'll be using the G1 for EDC and a 3-5 day bag. Thanks for the response and valuable feedback!
First off, thanks for all your videos- they are really enjoyable. I've noticed you prefer the Eagle FILBE assault pack over the Eberlestock G1 Little brother. I'm looking at picking up the G1 and I'm interested in your thoughts on the G1 and why you don't seem to backpack with it. Thanks for any info/experiences/comments you can provide.
Hi bro, nice vid. Will like to own this pack after some considerations. Do you mind if I could check out a few points before getting this little brother. I am thinking the colour are are showing is it a coyote brown (i am a big fan if this colour ) Does the hip belt comes with the same colour ?
I have the Little brother pack & it's a great pack to use.. In your opinion which is a better frame to use.. The Gossamer frame or the Endo frame.. I have both but I can't decide which is more suitable for the little brother.. Anyone else who has experience in this please advise.. Thanks.
Luke, as a consolation for not being able to fulfill your wish, I´ll give you a piece of my earlier gear. So put your/a address in my inbox and I´ll have my wife send you my old Eberlestock G3 Sniper Pack to you. It has been through some events but there are still some good years of use in it. Take care brother, I have to run...
Yeah, can't say that I rate this bag at all - it has no dedicated sleeve for a camelbak/water bladder (unless you want to place it in the top lid and have water sloshing next to your head), the scabbard zip has no protective flaps so it's fraying apart from the friction of being placed on the ground so eventually the bag will bottom out, ring pulls and chest cinch strap broke (Eberlestock has no replacement buckle which is super small), MOLLE stitching has fraying. This all from EDC to/from the airport over the past 12 months and has never been to field once!!! I could go on but there's not enough room to explain the many faults of this bag. Really poorly designed and a total lemon... It is comfortable to carry though but if you don't mind sacrificing some comfort go a Camelbak BFM
@6:54 , dont ever say bullet proof talking about survival gear, i understand what your are talking about, but a comment like that leads to google/bulletproofpack.

I have to admit I really like the frame and it really does help with the load. I was hauling 40lbs over the weekend and it was very comfortable.
Thanks brother! I appreciate your kind words.

Luke I just watched one of your videos from 2020 wow you have progressed 100 percent. Good job
It's amazing seeing how you've progressed in just a couple of years. great video of a great pack , keep the videos coming
after seeing this i checked out their website and fell in love w/ the skycrane II which this bag is a part of.was looking at a molle II or filbe ..but i like the versatillity of the skycrane more.

Old school Coolest hand in the ligand!
Glad I found this video, I just watched your Eberlestock sleeping bag video. Awesome thanks!
Sure thing my friend. Be well.

I haven't worn a TOGA since High School Senior run!

Thanks Slvr! Maybe I can get my hands on one. ;) Take care brother.
I'm hoping to test it out later this week. :)
Thanks mate.
You are welcome my friend. I'm uploading a video today with the G1 Little Brother and my loadout for a upcoming camping trip. You might find it interesting. Take care!
It's possible that we can. In the next few days we will be showing off the F4 Terminator.....I can this; "it's badass!"
I hope to own one of these packs one day, looks amazing
You'll love it Austin. Great pack indeed.
Solid looking bag! It looks really comfortable with those wide shoulder straps. Most packs I have I wish the shoulder straps were bigger, but I recently got a kelty redwing which is really comfortable. Thanks for the review and Take Care.
After 7 years would you say that it is worth the money. How has it held up? Without the poncho is it water resistant at all?
I like to have the ability to remove the bags if they're not in use and I can also replace them with other compatible pouches/bags/etc.
Great video!!!! Chill with the ums.
That Battlefield theme music, love it ;)
Ha ha ha! So really the backpack you wanted to buy by putting those saddlebags on the sides was the Eberlestock Halftrack
do you find the ports in the top pocket to render the pocket useless?
Seems the only thing you can put up there is a rain cover or rolled up jacket without slipping out the holes.
None of that stuff is included for almost $ 200.00? So what is the cost with all the extras then?
Could you give me the internal dimension of this pack? Their website says 22L x 11W x 8D but I was wondering about the main compartment. Thanks.
would there be a difference between this configuration with the eberlestock g1 little brother and 1 saddle bag on each side vs eberlestock halftrack (other than the capability to hold a scabbard)?
if you just opened the top section of the weapons carry could you fit a Ruger 10-22 take down rifle in there ?
what about cinching down the waist belt? is it that old way of pulling back or the new way of pulling forward which is easier for me
Did u ever finish the review on that pack torn between it and the mystery ranch 2 day
What are the long loops for on the very bottom? Straps for sleeping bags or something?
Awesome video. Looking forward to your opinion after you've tried it out!
By the way I have taken the pack out on a long hike; check out my video of the Mountain to Sea Trail Day Hike.
Performed very well.
great vid. trying to decide between this and the halftrack. Sorry for the late reply brother. Which pack did you decide on?
I have a backpacking trip coming up and I bought the filbe main pack. I think it might be too heavy. I am thinking of buying the g1 little brother. Do you think it is suitable for a 3day 2 night backpacking trip?
Hey Koss, you can definitely make due with the G1 as long as you have the right sized gear. It's definitely possible.

Can you open only the top zipper and conceal a Ruger 10/22 takedown ?
Hi, Luke. How are you?
I'd like to know which one has better quality Eberlestock or Filbe? reliability and durability concerned.
Younggun from VA
Hmmm, I would have to say that both are top notch quality and I couldn't say if one beat out the other.
Hope you're well my friend.
- Luke
Can I stick my own rifle drag bag into that insert? Or do I have to buy their “scabbard” ?
Any reason you went with this pack plus the saddle bags instead of the HalfTrack? I'm looking at picking up one or the other...
Please review first tactical specialist 3 day pack.
Hi bro, nice vid. Will like to own this pack after some considerations. Do you mind if I could check out a few points before getting this little brother.
I am thinking the colour are are showing is it a coyote brown (i am a big fan if this colour )
Does the hip belt comes with the same colour ?
Hey Luke, is this the same little brother pack that's integrated into their sky crane system? anyways great review! Keep it up man.
I have the Little brother pack & it's a great pack to use.. In your opinion which is a better frame to use.. The Gossamer frame or the Endo frame.. I have both but I can't decide which is more suitable for the little brother.. Anyone else who has experience in this please advise.. Thanks.
I’m looking at the G1 now.. does the gossamer frame take away any use of anything inside?
Great pack for ROTs so coms
Good points. Great vid!
are the shoulder straps adjustable ?
How well does the Endo frame work? I am considering one for my LoDrag pack but I want to make sure it works.
Thanks for the video review tho.. Needed to see those MISSING features lol.
Whats the color of this pack?
BINGO! :)
Lol battlefield music ftw
Haha Oh Yeah!
- Luke
Sorry my friend, I don't know what you mean. Leads to Google/bulletproof pack? You lost me.
Why not just get a Halftrack. Essentially same configuration bag with all extras you bought already included
Luke, as a consolation for not being able to fulfill your wish, I´ll give you a piece of my earlier gear. would i be able to fit a 33 inch rifle in this bag?
Yeah, can't say that I rate this bag at all - it has no dedicated sleeve for a camelbak/water bladder (unless you want to place it in the top lid and have water sloshing next to your head), the scabbard zip has no protective flaps so it's fraying apart from the friction of being placed on the ground so eventually the bag will bottom out, ring pulls and chest cinch strap broke (Eberlestock has no replacement buckle which is super small), MOLLE stitching has fraying. Really poorly designed and a total lemon... It is comfortable to carry though but if you don't mind sacrificing some comfort go a Camelbak BFM
Im guessing the skycrane is a must for this bag then?
@6:54 , dont ever say bullet proof talking about survival gear, i understand what your are talking about, but a comment like that leads to google/bulletproofpack.
um
TOGR sounds too much like toga! Why not call it "The OGR." it sounds better to me.
Practice speaking without saying ummm so often or at all.
+lee larsen Hahaha You got me on the ummm part. This was one of my first videos and I may have gotten a little better. :)
- Luke
this is a horrible review of the bag.
