🔴 ATTENTION 🔴 Things you should know about this film before you comment: 1. The Japanese figures don't have helmets because the ones I ordered never arrived on time. So I needed to continue with the project with or without helmets. 2. Some of the guns are missing such as the american rifles because they never arrived on time. Again, I needed to continue with the project with the guns I already had. 3. Is not the full battle of Okinawa, it's just a small small representation. 4. If you wonder where did I get the sound effects, they're from various films and games such as The Pacific, COD WW2, Halo and some others. 5. As a gesture of goodwill, I decided to include a quick scene with Desmond Doss, the medic who fought without carrying a weapon.
Awesome work as always man! Your animations play out as literal old 80’s war movies. The practical effects/visual effects as always are stunning. The set is very immersive and detailed. The sound effects are externally well done also. Nice work as always with the storytelling, animation, lighting, sound design etc...
very underrated. these videos are extremly well made. i am a new lego creator of these types of films but im definetly not on your level. would you care to share some general advices?
The Battle of Okinawa (Japanese: 沖縄戦, Hepburn: Okinawa-sen), codenamed Operation Iceberg was a major battle of the Pacific War fought on the island of Okinawa by the United States Army and United States Marine Corps (USMC) forces against the Imperial Japanese Army. The initial invasion of Okinawa on 1 April 1945 was the largest amphibious assault in the Pacific Theater of World War II. The Kerama Islands surrounding Okinawa were preemptively captured on 26 March, (L-6) by the 77th Infantry Division. The 82-day battle lasted from 1 April until 22 June 1945. After a long campaign of island hopping, the Allies were planning to use Kadena Air Base on the large island of Okinawa as a base for Operation Downfall, the planned invasion of the Japanese home islands, 340 mi (550 km) away. The United States created the Tenth Army, a cross-branch force consisting of the U.S. Army 7th, 27th, 77th and 96th Infantry Divisions with the USMC 1st, 2nd, and 6th Marine Divisions, to fight on the island. The Tenth was unique in that it had its own Tactical Air Force (joint Army-Marine command), and was also supported by combined naval and amphibious forces. Opposing the Allied forces on the ground was the Japanese Thirty-Second Army. In the naval operations surrounding the battle, both sides lost considerable numbers of ships and aircraft, including the Japanese battleship Yamato. After the battle, Okinawa provided a fleet anchorage, troop staging areas, and airfields in proximity to Japan for US forces, in preparation for a planned invasion of the Japanese home islands. The Battle of Okinawa (Japanese: 沖縄戦, Hepburn: Okinawa-sen), codenamed Operation Iceberg: 17 was a major battle of the Pacific War fought on the island of Okinawa by the United States Army and the United States Marine Corps (USMC) forces against the Imperial Japanese Army. The initial invasion of Okinawa on 1 April 1945 was the largest amphibious assault in the Pacific Theater of World War II. The Tenth was unique in that it had its own Tactical Air Force (joint Army-Marine command), and was also supported by combined naval and amphibious forces. Opposing the Allied forces on the ground was the Japanese Thirty-Second Army. The battle has been referred to as the "typhoon of steel" in English, and tetsu no ame ("rain of steel") or tetsu no bōfū ("violent wind of steel") in Japanese. The nicknames refer to the ferocity of the fighting, the intensity of Japanese kamikaze attacks and the sheer numbers of Allied ships and armoured vehicles that assaulted the island. The battle was one of the bloodiest in the Pacific, with approximately 160,000 military casualties combined: at least 50,000 Allied and 84,166-117,000 Japanese, 473-4 including drafted Okinawans wearing Japanese uniforms. According to local authorities, at least 149,425 Okinawan people were killed, died by suicide or went missing, roughly half of the estimated pre-war population of about 300,000.
I’ve always loved stop motion I’ve always been interested in the war in the Pacific This is AMAZING! P.S. both my greatgrandfathers served, one was a mule packer the other one an amphibious engineer
Thank you very much! I cut a little bit of that piece, but just in the under part so the head can move up and down. Then, I add a bit of clay inside the head, so it doesn't gets out while using the figure. I hope I answered your question!
Thank you very much! I can recommend you to make a lot of tests until you get smoother animation, and try new animation technics, such as the VFX, close scenes, realistic movement, and many others. You can also get a video editor to improve your filters and look more cinematic.
It really is awesome, I am sad that the weapons and minifigs on the side of the Japanese were not better portrayed. Do you want me to contact me for the weapons I noticed were missing on the part of the Japanese? I have at least 8 Japanese WW2 Minifig soldiers fully equipped with helmets and Arisaka rifles. Nambu pistols, the Type 100 SMGs the Japanese used. Samurai sword the Japanese officers carry. Type 99 LMGs. At least one Type 92 Machine Gun, the hand grenade Type 97 the Japanese use, and the 'knee' mortar.
