the majority of us are still mourning the passing of Little Britain
How do you know this? It was dumb humour for dumb people. I'm far from 'woke' and I still think it was just dumb and unfunny. At best a throwback to Dick Emery, at worst hahaha old ladies puking. Walliams is despicable and Lucas cannot stand alone. No loss.
Its still shown on BBC Iplayer you know :)
Don't worry maybe one day it will be back
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
That accent of the girl in pink is "native chav"
The world lost it's sense of humour. This shit is hilarious. ✌️❤️🇬🇧
Not the world, just the dumbest and loudest people.
When you said "this show CAN'T be on now" - you were right! It actually got banned recently from most streaming services, as people thought it was racist, transphobic, homophobic, you name it! It was mainly on about 20 years ago. Times change I suppose. Most people still like it though - because they can see it as comedy.
It was never banned. Lucas and Walliams requested they were taken down because they're snowflakes
@@colinwelsh2874 they seem it. From you know, the comedy you like.
Its actually on bbc iplayer still
Meanwhile 1 of the actors is bald, fat and gay himself.....
@@yeahme8367 thanks! Was wondering where i could watch it again 😂
I’m a 71 year old woman and I found this show absolutely hilarious!
Damn right, good sir!
Little Britain is so popular here in Britain but sadly too many people get “ offended “ these days for the best of comedy to be allowed on our msm . David and Matt are British legends and very much loved ! 👍🇬🇧🇺🇸
my gay hairdressers here in Munich Germany LOVED LITTLE BRITAIN nd Come Fly With Me and could recite every sentence from the Daffyd episodes! NO ONE was offended by Little Britain characters BUT the fake woke leftist clowns who have zero sense of humor and have taken all the fun out of comedy.
@@combatduckieThey sure are a bunch cry baby sad ******s , comedy shows are not the same and have been diluted down to piss
People have been crying about "political correctness" for forever. Stop buying the bullshit. Little Britain was just repetitive drivel
They're very loved in Italy too!
dont pretend the jokes in this show are clever lmao
The little, tiny guy and his agent sketch is so niche. It's a specific actor from a specific British, 1980s series and refers to the fact that he wrote and sang the theme song of that show and was quite short. No possible way of understanding that unless you're a bit old like me
The accent is from Bristol and theres actually a pub called the Victoria which now has Matt Lucas as "Vicky" as the sign on the door. It's not exaggerated at all. I lived there for 11 years and it was only towards the end of my time there that I fully understood people. There's also a massive Carribbean population there where you have a mix of patwan and farmer.
Not Patwan, "Patois" that's the Caribbean lingo.
@@jamesbancroft7023 We say patwar in Bristol
+ in the north of wales from my experience anyway, my father’s a rasta and mothers a farmer and no one would ever even guess, I never tell anyone too.. I guess it’s a strange combo I’ve never really thought about it tbh until now
Definitely from Fishponds area of Bristol, its quite accurate
that's how it's pronounced, "Pa-twaa". however the spelling of it is Patois, it's a french word.@@mikestas8884
I'm from Australia but love Little Britain. Such a hilarious show. I also loved the other show they did... Come Fly With Me.
🇦🇺👍
Precious Little would go down a storm nowadays. Or a riot or something.
@@bingbong7316 That is so true! Lol
I’m American and we watched these when they aired back in the early 2000s. They used to air on BBC America. I have the DVDs. Me and my American friends still laugh and refer to some of the characters.
I'm British and your laughing made my day, your both funny 😂😂😂
The fact it's Tom Baker (who played the 4th incarnation of The Doctor in Doctor Who) as the narrator, makes this series worth it...
“No this isn’t a zoo, these are not elephants. They are in fact, human beings.”
and his picture was in the background of the Dennis Waterman sketch
That’s the most offensive thing about the show
And Matt Lucas eventually got to be a Doctor Who companion (with Peter Capaldi)
@@cobaltmalealso David Walliams appeared during a Matt Smith Episode called “The God Complex”
Just as WTF but much darker is The League of Gentlemen. Seriously it's a must watch.
This. 100% but you kind of have to watch it in order. Some ‘Local Shop’ clips might work to get a taste
I never found it that funny, but lots of people raved about it so definitely has something.
I loved it. It was aired here in Finland too.
We didn't burn him
Comedy Noir …. It’s a local shop …. for local people …..
I just wish there had been Ting Tong and Mr Dudley sketches in there. One of their very best pair of characters.
My tax lecturer was camp as hell and quite clearly gay and in all the tax exams the person in question was Ting Tong lol
I was thinking that too! These boys would have laughed their heads off at Ting Tong and Mr Dudley.
As a European i'm impressed by how much you understand about some of this. This reaction gives me some hope about America.
Instant follow. I i need to see more! Also the fact that you talk about Eurovision, get me even more hyped! Cheers! //Sweden
One thing you can say about British comedies, they always push the boundaries. On reflection, I should have used past tense, as I no longer believe that boundaries are pushed today, at the expense of great comedy.
Yeah and Little Britain pushed it so far....I love it.
Unfortunately the days of boundary pushing are long gone :(
@@B-A-L Sadly you are correct. I started as a junior scriptwriter for the BBC in the early 70's, and I look at what is considered as comedy today with extreme disappointment.
Well if it targets straight white or Christian then the jokes are still permitted
The only boundary being pushed these days is the patience of the general public being forced to put up with all this 'woke' nonsense.
Well done lads, I knew Daniel would be laughing whilst Spencer hides behind his hands lol. The programme is all about us laughing at the worst of British public, the racist, the moody teen, the horrible fat club leader, the gay guy (who thinks everyone is oppresing him but they actually dont care he's gay) etc. All good fun, whilst cringing. And yeah, no station is brave enough to show this now. Two thumbs up!👍 🤣👍
They left so much out of this compilation as well. Some scenes would have these boys crying with laughter.
It is still available on BBC I-Player. Series 1 seems to all be there in full, however series 2 &3 episodes have probably been edited if you look a each programmes length?
Little Britain is quality classic comedy at its finest. I was so sad and disappointed to find out it got banned. It’s comedy, people laughed , we still laugh at it now!!!!! Sigh .
It was the two snowflakes that made it that had it taken down as not to upset certain communities
@@1nikg didn't know that, I love to make a TV channel for anti snowflakes as in anyone who not part of cancel everything, I miss come fly with me too
As a gay guy I find it hilarious still now 😂
@@axrxnlt yeah, I wish they made a channel or stream service and made more of it, also I can say exact same as you, wonder if just us gay people that understand great comedy
@@mlee6050 Matt Lucas is openly gay. He based some of the characters on his own experiences such as Fat Fighters and Gavin, the only Gay in the village.
In the “Only Gay In The Village” skits, Myfanwy is played by the brilliant Ruth Jones, who is a lifelong friend of Rob Brydon. And she co-wrote “Gavin and Stacey” with James Corden and stars it in as Nessa; another sitcom you should check out as it’s brilliant.
She's also friends with James corden, 😬
It would be interesting to see them watch Gavin & Stacey, coz it also has a failed American remake for them to compare it to!
Despite corden being in it....
i would also like to suggest the adorable sarcastic Dame Edna Everage. She really breaks me in half.
Myfnawy was NESS?!
The skit with the little man visiting his agent was about Dennis Waterman who was an actor, popular in the 70's who starred in shows like THE SWEENEY and MINDER. He also wrote and sang the theme for MINDER and a couple of other shows in which he starred. The reason they made fun of him being short is because Matt Lucas (the agent in the skit) saw him at a gathering one time and commented on how much shorter he was in real-life.
The theme from Minder, 'I Could Be So Good To You,' was written by Dennis's second wife, Patrica Waterman along with Gerard Kenny. I think the mistake of people thinking it was written by Dennis, was because on the record label the writing credits are "Waterman and Kenny.'
it was also because they worked with his daughter Hannah who was in Eastenders and she wasn't very nice to them.
He was popular way past the 70s new tricks is a 90s to 2000s thing.
Oh, I never knew that! This character makes so much more sense now. "So you want me to write the intro tune, perform the intro tune? Something like doot doo doo doot..."
And he always wants to sing the... "Theme tune" 😂
So glad you guys did a reaction to this. At the time it just seemed like typical British humour, but the fact that you laughed so hard at this makes me want to watch it all over again. Great video guys, it’s like someone reintroducing to a classic album that you haven’t heard for years but suddenly see in a whole new light!
Used to love Little Britain as a kid but you look back and go how was that made hahaha. You hear it all the time 'oh you could never make that nowadays' but Little Britain is that x10.
It’s comedy
Yeah, and x10 isn’t even an exaggeration 😂
I think it was perfect for it's time, but I still think you could have an updated version nowadays. Maybe less weirdness, as that was probably what people got a bit bored of, but it's smartly written, weird, fucked up, satirical and just bonkers. Like these guys said, if we're making jokes about a certain subject, we are in your corner. We don't make fun out of a certain group of people to be mean. It's about including them in taking the piss out of everyone. You are all part of little Britain.
Hahaha, Little Britain was a big part of growing up in the UK. It's humour was risky, but made you think about what was ok and not ok, which I think humour can do. It wouldn't be allowed now, but humour should challenge the way we think. Sasha Baron Cohan does it best, it's polarising, and uncomfortably at times but highlights issues.
Vicky Pollard's accent is Bristol, where I live 😂
Little Britain is the kind of show you can have on a loop 24/7 and it'll still be funny a month later.
The guy that "accidently" joined Grinder and fell into another man is pretty accurate in terms of some British politicians making excuses. Politicians around the world lie, but from what I have seen of American politicians, they just deny things, the British versions "used to" make up a convoluted story when they were caught.
Just repeat “fake news” done
before announcing they would be "spending more time with their family" - eg no longer working
I remember Ron Davies resigned after he got mugged because he described it as a "moment of madness".
Came out the next day we was cottaging on Clapham Common and had his wallet pinched
Scandinavian politicians started doing it to.
But no one could delever a BS explanation like a British politician. Part of me does miss it. Entertainment gold.
Now they just lie and deny everything (party during COVID) ....it was a business meeting (Photo shows people sitting outside scattered, sitting around tables or standing in a garden holding glasses, (no business papers). Later it changed to....ok it was my birthday they gave me a cake, I was there 10 minutes and then I left (even that was a lie!)
I was in England once. Turn on the TV in the hotel and this series is playing 😂
They did the best job.. and it's difficult to make people laugh.. back then it was a better world.. now theres nothing to laugh about.. Little Britain boys made history with their comedy ❤❤❤❤❤❤
The narrator is Tom Baker, he played Dr. Who back in the 70s the 4th Dr Who
The best Dr Who 😉
Probably one of your BEST set of reactions from a classic UK series. Please, please, please feature Little Britain's Fat Fighter's scene with Rose O'Donnell.
Denis Waterman used to play hardmen in UK cop shows but he was like 5 foot 5 hence the running joke
Yes and the running joke with every sketch was him having his agent suggest new jobs and Dennis wanting to "write the theme tune and sing the theme tune?"
😂
Well he and his brothers were all good boxers, so despite his size, he did fit that persona well
Little Britain returned to BBC with a new season on the 16th December 2023 and will run into this year, 2024.
there was another show before this called The Fast Show - it was just one unconnected sketch after another, but with characters you came to recognise each episode. Well worth finding an old episode, or a 'best of Fast Show' compilation perhaps

The accent you were asking about, it's Bristol, in one episode she mentions being in Fishponds, my daughter lived in Bristol and worked in Fishponds and she said it was quite a good impersonation of the accent and also the people there too sadly, top reaction from you both 👌
Bristolian here. Exactly how girls were at my school. Accent is perfect too.
"Also I shat out 6 babies myself, is that good enough you super bitch?". Classic
Yeh but, no but I'm from Brizzle and we never talk like that does we! gert lush review me babbers
I'm from Downend, next stop on the 48 after Fishponds, definitely an accurate accent for some, maybe more Staple Hill though!
As a Plymothian, I always thought it was Plymothian, but maybe a stab at generic Devonian. So glad I lost my accent!
I’m in between Downend and fishponds, pretty accurate to some folk
Did you notice the Prime Minister was Anthony Stuart Head who was the teacher helping the original Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
Matt Lucas doing a Bristol accent Little Britain very funny multi talented Matt Lucas and David Walliams
Yep - south Bristol

Vicky pollard:- the accent is ‘Bristolian’ lol, (Bristol)
South Bristol, cousin kissing Bristol *hitty territory.
I think they both went to University there. Vicky mentions the Broadmead Centre which is one of the main shopping centre is.
these are the funniest shows we have seen on TV in Finland :D still miss it
Matt Lucas in the Vicky Pollard sketch was using a Bristol accent
I am going to have to dig through the dvd collection and rewatch this!
Dressing in drag, and dressing up in general, is very big in Britain. I'm wearing a dress now in fact.
No, you're not. Keep your hands where i can see them - i have a husband, you know!😉😎
Probably may not have figured but the Prime Minister is played by Anthony Head. His real life daughter, Emily Head, played Carli D’Amato in The Inbetweeners.
He played Mr. Jiles on "Buffy, the Vampire Slayer" and King Uther Pendragon in "Merlin". Who cares about his daughter?
Absolutely loved your laughter 😃 thank you for cheering me up.
I love the Dennis Waterman sketches more than anything. Most of the other sketches are about stereotypes, Dennis got the honour of his own personalised sketch.
Write the feme toon, sing the feme toon 😂😂😂 I love Lou and Andy, Davith the only gay in the village and Computer says no cough!!! 😂😂😂😂😂
They should bring this back 😂 people are so sensitive these days 😂
You should watch a Compilation of Little Britain USA. Their American Accents are very good. Because a lot of their Comedy was based on real events it only lasted a year. Certain Americans complained about it.
Ofc they did lol
😂🤣😂🤣Your faces watching this was just like my Australian husband. We had just got married and moved to the U.K in 2004 and his face when this was on the tv with jetlag was like where have you brought me to...Particularly the 'bitty' scenes😂Even to this day me and my parents still crack up at his face when this was on tv on the night we landed back. Good memories of a simpler time.
All those tropes you guys have, we have similar, only without the guns. Where I live it's like swamp people without boats [ they drained our swamps to make food ] and that made us hill-billies on the flattest part of the UK.
PS Vicky Pollard's accent is a Bristol 'street' accent.
Thanks guys excellent cheered me right up today 😊
The small man sketch is about a man called Dennis Waterman who was an actor who starred in and sang the theme tune to several TV shows.
Yes about time absolutely loved this growing up
Vicky Pollard has a Bristol accent.
Just love watching the horribly stroppy teenager - while thanking God mine were now grown up and left home!!!
you cant go wrong with this kind of comedy.. laughing water in my eyes, great reaction guys..
One of the funniest and best British shows ever to air on our tv screens
little Britain is one of those things that would NOT run on tv these days, but ive so many memories of it, they also did little Britain USA
Mat Lukas as Vicky Pollards accent is from Bristol, south west England. Same place I'm from.😂
David is a marathon swimmer, he swam the 140 mile length of the Thames and the English Channel.
David walliams also writes childrens books. Hes a legend. As is matt. I loved little britain. When life wasnt so serious all the time lol
Also the "ladies" are dressed like that because they're "ladies".... ladies are supposed to "cover up" and in victoriana times, women were ladies. Not ladettes lol
Vicky pollard has a Bristol accent. It’s one of the many south west/West Country accents. They’re similar but still different. The Vicky pollard sketches are classist but that’s the point of them. I love little Britain.
Im screaming laughing at you guys its soo fun🤣,,,,,LOVE FROM SWEDEN❤❤❤
I never thought I would see this day come! Wish it wasn't a compilation though... LB is the BEST.
By the way, some Little Britain trivia, the character who takes the "Fat Fighters" class is Marjorie Dawes, the mother of George Dawes (off Shooting Stars, who sang the "Lesbians" song).
So glad you guys took the opportunity to watch the greatness of David and Matt. Brilliant men.
We had a politician about 20 years ago who was caught cruising by police in a park with his trousers down. He explained to them that he was in the park at night hunting badgers
They are running all episodes of Little Britain at the moment here in the UK 🇬🇧. One of my favourites! 😅😅
Even if you can't do a reaction video, I would suggest watching these shows on your own time. I know you get a little more context on some of the characters on "Little Britain" with all their appearance coupled with the narration. This stuff is really the tip of the iceberg.👍
Haha Americans watching little Britain I’m watching this. This is gonna be very funny hope you like it it’s very loved over here xx
I’m so glad that my sister wasn’t called Vicky 😂😂😂 crazy mother!!!!! You know the rest. Cracks me up 😂
Thanks for not over reacting and making me turn off after 30 seconds. Subscribed 👍🏻
Narrated by Tom baker - doctor who!
I feel like a lot of people have lost their sense of humour. Little Britain was a glimmer of light, completely ridiculous sketches but hilarious.
It isn’t even as if the show focuses its jokes on one type of people, instead it takes the piss out of everyone and in most cases you can tell they are the villains of the piece.
It's amazing they got away with this even back when it came out 😅
I'm surprised you haven't watched The Young Ones - VERY British and VERY funny!
When you said to him laughing "I hate you" ... I actually was hoping you two would go on with.... I hate you more than gummybears (etc) 😂
Matt Lucas’ accent with Vicky Pollard is a Bristol accent. I believe that’s where he’s originally from
Matt's a Londoner, but he studied drama at Bristol university.
they were both students there, I believe. As part of a project they interviewed people in the city centre and got this semi-incoherent south Bristollian youngster. It's very good for Bedminster, Totterdown, Knowle, Hartcliffe.
I'd venture the Bristol part was less important than age/social status aspects of the character?

RE-: the transvestites, back in yesteryear when we had milkmen making deliveries to homes, my friend had a milk business, we used to go out as a group of friends on a Friday night sometimes a pub crawl and sometimes a live gig, my friend Mark the milkman had to go collecting his bills on a Friday and so we used to help him, one of his customers was a transvestite that used to walk around the house in bra and panties stockings and suspenders, we used to draw lots for who knocked at his door, we then started to bring new members of the group along with us collecting his bills and drop them off at Titmans (that was the name we gave him) and we would hide behind the bushes to see the expression on their faces when he answered the door.
Some of them just clamped up and were unable to speak, others cracked out laughing, it got to the point where people living on the opposite side of the street would also look to see what the reaction was, the last person we played this prank on just said " you have got to be fu**ing joking, you must have a massive pair of bo***ks to answer the door in that get up mate" "Im here to collect this milk bill" the laughter was the loudest it had ever been, I made myself ill with laughing, his neighbours were in the same state.
That has to be the funniest situation I have ever experienced in my long life!
I don't care if it's not on TV anymore 'cause I've got the DVDs!
This included clips from "Come Fly With Me" (an airport based sketch show) and "Rock Profile" (The Abba bit), as well as Little Britain.
For me, Rock Profile is one of the best things Matt Lucas and David Walliams did - it was brilliant - each episode focused on a different artist and they just went to town on them! It was fantastic - well worth checking out!!!
You should watch... when matt lucas as the only gay in the village interviews Elton John 🤣
Great video guys... I remember at the time thinking, I don't know how they got away with alot of the stuff they did

Ok to explain the "Dennis Waterman" sketch where David Walliams plays a tiny guy speaking to his agent... Dennis Waterman (recently RIP) was one of the UKs most popular TV actors, he had a lead role in a show called MINDER where he was the ex-boxer who looked after a crooked businessman called Arthur Daley, and was also a lead cop in THE SWEENEY, a rough-and-tumble cop show in the 70s. However, when Matt and David met Dennis at some event or other, they found him to be a lot shorter than they thought he'd be, based on his hard man roles... and the idea for a sketch was born. This was coupled to his odd habit of writing and singing the theme tunes to the shows he was in (most famously for MINDER) and gave them the basis for a long run of visual big/small gags with the "write the theme tune, sing the theme tune" line there as a catchphrase to wait for.
Write da feem toon, sing da feem toon...
@KevPage-WitKicker, I also remember Dennis Waterman starring in a long running series about some cold case Detectives too & the boss of the Detectives was a Female Detective, I just can't remember the name of that show at the moment.
