OMG 😂 let me explain myself:
Okay so essentially everything from parts 6-11 were me trying (and failing) to figure out “wtf is up with the cat” lol. It was a massive exercise in throwing ideas out there until I got something solid… But I don’t regret it, because it led to the whole “cat IS the other world” idea that is more coherent. THAT was my final conclusion.
You can see the peak of my absurdity riiiiiiight before that, when I “see the cat in the shadow” before finally snapping back 😂It was wild, the “crazy parts” were all uploaded in a 5 month span of me bending in on myself & exposing myself & making theories on my own theories to find the light again 🤣 Most of the commenters knew what was going on, it was a journey they were apart of, the compilation sadly loses that element. So you’re right, the 2-cat-son-grandpa stuff is nuts, but surprisingly it served its purpose (it walked so my solid stuff could run).
You're right, I was absolutely the originator here, and as you pointed out, I tried to reign back some of the others. It really bugged me, especially the genuine seriousness some had. ffs now TikTok has gotten ahold of it, and I’ve given up. I certainly don’t believe it all was “intended” by the makers, I try to make that clear later on, obviously only solid stuff should be considered there.
It's not just Coraline tho, a chunk of my channel consists of me diving into the furthest corners of a lore and saying “this COULD be here”, then having fun with creating & filling plot holes, but usually the creators have no intentions. Well *sometimes* they do, but a lot of my theories are just me examining possibilities; sometimes it goes crazy far… My Coraline vids are actually my LEAST unhinged (aside from my concrete show predictions & stuff).
I also want to highlight I made all of this when I was 14 years old. I thought it was cool AF, and most people seem to see through the nonsense into anything valuable (as they should).
    Also yes, I’m insane.

I have a theory on that first RUclipsr, she actually isn't real and its a dead body being controlled by the doll sitting next to her; I have no evidence to back this up but I want to make up random bullshit too. Feels a bit racist to be like "The black cat is related to the black people in the film." Maybe the real Coraline theory was the friends me made along the way.

The idea of cats traveling between the real world and other realms isn’t that far fetched. In Lord Dunsany’s novel “The King of Elfland’s Daughter” (which happens to be one of Gaiman’s biggest influences), there’s a bit of world building that establishes that certain animals originating from either the real world and the faerie realm (particularly foxes and unicorns) are known to naturally slip through the barriers separating the two planes of reality when searching for food. That seems to be the angle Gaiman was aiming for when he conceived the character.

what exactly is so bad in theorizing on a movie that.. well.. is pretty open for interpretation? and even if you believe the wildest, most out there theories about this film, does that mean you've gone completely insane? i do not get your point. these are people who just theorize on these films for the fun of it! theorizing on films is completely harmless lmao
i think that "death of the author" also comes into play here. because fans of a piece of fiction have the right to surpass the authors intentions or in this case, the directors. and even if the original creators were not aware of certain connections in their works, the fans are creating their own headcanons! not everything has to be strictly coherent, you know

    • @Anti2790
      @Anti2790 13 часов назад

Fans do not have the right to surpass the author, what??? Im all for headcannons and fun aus and things like that, but when a headcanon is taken too seriously, claimed to be true, or just straight up goes against the original point entirely, thats when it becomes harmful. Like how the mha author was receiving death threats because he said Deku was straight. I ship bakudeku just like the next guy, but im aware it isnt canon and is just fun for fanfics and cute art. The headcanon of Bakudeku was taken too seriously by the fans and it caused actual harm to the creator. That isn't okay. Obviously most of these creators aren't going that far, but you also have to consider the fact that they put themselves out on the internet. Just as you have the right to say whatever you think and share it with others, putting yourself out there allows others to share what they think of you. Tis the double edged sword of the internet.

She's mixing-and-matching symptoms from completely different types of schizophrenia, for a start. It's like saying someone has anxiety and then mashing together symptoms of panic attacks, health anxiety, social anxiety, OCD, a phobia etc.
Schizophrenics being "very aggressive toward others" is untrue and a harmful stereotype. Mentally ill people are far more likely to be VICTIMS of crime than to perpetrate one, and the overwhelming majority are neither violent nor aggressive.
The often being unable to distinguish hallucinations from reality are because they're extremely realistic and vivid and usually stuff that's POSSIBLE in reality. ANd she's "Very childlike" because she's ELEVEN.

I once googled who is the dead fairy in Coraline and I found a part of tmblr where a fan was asking Neil Gaiman whether that dead fairy was the Beldam 's mother. He said that the only time that fairy is mentioned is on chapter 12. In this chapter, Coraline has escaped and freed her parents and the ghost children, whom she dreams of later that night. One of the girls is described to have butterfly like wings. So, one would say that she is the fairy of the story and not the Beldam, a conclusion that can open the door to so many more theories. What I don 't understand is how this tip from Gaiman has managed to slip from practically everyone.

I have honestly only seen The Theorizer, love his crazy ramblings and the Coraline theories is how I found him, and he has always been obssesed with making the innocent or unremarkable characters the villain, recently he has found better examples, and also when he was making the Coraline theories he had this animated series of sorts going on oh his 2nd or third channel which was absolutley insane, it was made in stick figures but it was clearly deranged, and abitfrank who has great fairytale videos, everyone else I am unfamiliar with.

@@On_NbornThat literally flies in the face of Neil’s own words about the story from a Canadian BC interview about Coraline in light of the (at the time,) upcoming film release, in which he specifically states that the point is to show young people that bad things can be overcome, which by definition is contradicted by the frankly unhinged edge-lord film interpretation which states as if speaking objective fact and not a subjective hypothesis, that Coraline never escaped, using the 🐈‍⬛ as a piece of evidence alongside the parents being nicer/more attentive, as if a stressed couple with a child having that stress alleviated wouldn’t come across better than that same couple when under heavy stress due to financial issues, a move, work deadlines, and a recent hospitalisation due to a car accident.

Maybe I’m biased here but it seems to me that this video is more unhinged then then coraline theory videos because these are videos that are made for fun yes they are over analyzing but I don’t think they are meant to be taken serious they are just some different ways to maybe look at the movie or some dumb interpretation of things in the movie but they are not claiming that what they say are a fact at when it comes to the theorizer as his videos are the only ones I’ve watched but this video seems more unhinged as czs started to make weird personal insults that didn’t seem necessary seeing as the theories themselves are enough to make fun of and these people are over analyzing things czs has decided that the people making them are saying these things like they are facts of the movie and not what they are which is fun theories that aren’t meant to be taken to seriously
Edit:it also seems like a bad faith interpretation of these videos that’s the main point

I don't find her theories too outlandish and actually within the bounds of the story while also bringing in other lore elements that lend their influence to the story. It's fun, and I learn new things about some lore I haven't before.
