Golganneth, the Thunderer makes your first spell each turn cost 3 less (in shaman). Shroomscavate costs 3 mana and is a spell in shaman. Shroomscavate gives windfury. Windfury on a Titan lets them use 2 abilities in a turn. You can for 6 mana play a Golganneth and then play Shroomscavate for 0 mana and trigger 2 of Golganneths abilities, then next turn use his last ability and also attack with him.
demon hunter location could be fantastic in comboes. the dormant is an upside. with 8 mana u can summon Argus, use the 1 mana spell to damage, use an ability, then pop off next turn. EVEN better: Blindeye Sharpshooter. Making that go dormant is INSANE.
excavate shaman with the nature spell package. elemental that summons elementals as you cast nature spells. your excavate cards get cheapened by the 2 mana draw. and you can evolve your board of tokens and deck because your a deck of spells mainly.
Brann basically just makes every Warrior deck better, at the cost of only being able to run half the cards you want in those decks. Odyn plus Tidal Revenant is like 26 damage. Astalor gets you four copies of the final form, each of which deal 21 damage. Lorthemar now quadruples all your stats. The excavate stuff just gets better. The taunt stuff is interesting as something to fill out the rest of the deck, with the battlecry hand buff card, plus the toe turtle.
So azerite dragon allows paladin to do an otk with literally any minion - 2x gardens grace The new windfury card Azerite dragon + Conquerors aura (which could even be coined out on the same turn if they saved it) = 30 damage OTK I think someone in the dev team is a paladin main
If you're at 10 mana and you're spending almost all of it on taunt minions, you're fucked. It would've been a good card in 2016-2017, but not anymore. It might see some play in arena.
I think mismatched fossil is being slept on, and for one key reason: Hollow Hound. It's Beast AND Undead, meaning it can be discovered in both pools, it is Hunter AND Death Knight, meaning it should have an insane occurrence rate, and undead and beast tribes have a lot of cheap options to help make the Hollow Hound cheaper. I.E., you could discover an early game board clear which will also heal you to help stabilize until late-game. People hated Hollow Hound, so it got nerfed. Now... it very well might return. Especially when the set rotations occur in April, further boosting the chances of getting that three-headed doggo.
Evaluating the Warrior cards in interesting, cause now that they are incentivized to go highlander a lot of cards that might not have made a 30 or 40 card list might just slip in. Like the new totem. You'd probably prefer to just run double shield block, but in highlander you might just want to replace the double to maintain draw consistency.
Isn’t summoning ward really good for sif mage? Just use it with the spell that lets u take only 1 dmg at a time. And next turn just unload ur spell with casting sif or double cast her
Nourish has always been good because it draws cards and gives you mana. This allows you to play more (powercrept) cards, so it keeps up with powercreep.
Feels like the next expansion will probably focus on frost and blood runes for DK. Other than this new weapon and original Sindragosa its kinda the only rune combo that hasn't gotten support. Festival was Rainbow, Titans was Plagues, which can now lean towards either Frost or Blood, and Badlands gave us Excavate, which can slot in either Unholy, blood, or rainbow.
@@Nooy_ It might not be good, but it DOES exist, which means it technically can get better in future expansions. Freeze's stalling capabilities have decent potential with blood, the issue being that if you run 2B1F, then you mostly just get card draw from frost, and if you reverse it, you lose out on the control tools that blood 2 and 3 offer.
My hot take is that Shadow Word: Steal is going to be the absolute most hated card from this miniset that makes Control Priest absolutely giga awful to play against until rotation and possibly even after.
"When has this ever been good" (shaman excavate) it has sorta been good, in Runeterra for a time. The difference is every time you played a minion, you discovered what it turned into, not just completely random. That, plus you could synergize with battlecries etc from the original cards, deck was busted until nerfed.
Crystal cluster is a bit misunderstood imo. I think you're kinda throwing if you play it at 7-9 mana. You put it in a deck that ramps aggressively and you either use it to skip from 6 to 10, or you play it at 10 for 9/21 worth of taunt for 6 mana.
23:29 the naga package in hunter still there, together with very cheap spells and the bananas. And they love to cast spell. It can go in a very aggressive hunter
Gem thrower is cracked in reno druid. Early game it helps you get back into it and end game its a mini astalor. Not even that hard to get finalie due to your massive hands.
I don't know what paladin deck right now wants to run Finley. The best decks are aggro and tempo and Finley doesn't really does this. Also it's a reaction tool that you have to work for. Chances it's not active when you want it are pretty big.
With Fel Fissure and the location, there might be a Big Demon Hunter deck to come out of this mini-set. Fissure is certainly great against any agro deck. Consecration that forces your opponent not to develop for a turn cause their board will just get wiped again.
shattered reflections is gonna make my Desert Obelisks priest or druid deck competitive. Just You Wait (Also gonna be SUPER fun for shit like boars and cultists)
This 2 mana dk/paladin card seems kinda very good to me idk how we’re sleeping on it The ghouls only die at the end of your turn so they represent 1 damage anyway Also the 4 mana 6/8 is getting nerfed to the ground i would say around a week after its release this shit is not ok
Crystal Cluster is insane, if you play it on curve at 6 mana your instantly at 10 mana and if you play it on 10 mana you get 3! 3/7 with taunt which is crazy value. Its way way better than "best in shell" and when this card was discovered it was absolutely playable and its has ramp synergy with "widowbloom seedsman", so turn 4 you have 6 mana -> turn 5 you have 10 mana which is an extremely insane ramp. Only if you have 7 - 9 mana than you lose one mana crystal/one 3/7 body because the ramp from 9 to 10 is useless. but you get still two mana crystals to two 3/7 bodies.
Crystal cluster is just a weird card. To get the best value you have to at least play this on turn 6 going to 9 mana then 10 after the turn. Playing it on 7 is weird because you could have played it on 8 to get a taunt but it’s one so it’s not as good unless you played it on 10. Druid just has better things to do on 6 mana. So I see this card only being played on 10 mana unless they are that desperate to ramp. The only time you’d probably see it played is if it’s randomly generated by a rogue or from the 10 mana spell
I keep trying to tell people the Azurite Murloc is ass. Too random even if things get basically discounted by 3. There are so many bad cards in the game that getting random ones just isn't good.
Thank you! I keep telling everyone too, we have proof with Cera'thine that the effect isn’t good, and Murloc is hidden behind a four-cards requirement.. if you compare the two, Murloc and Dragon are essentially the same, dumping huge stats for the same Cost, but Dragon is always better in that regard because you keep the synergies built in your deck, and you don’t lose your Finley. Also Dragon on a big board is a Bloodlust, Murloc on a big board is just barely better than Deathseer Thrall, it’s laughable how bad Murloc is
With a location you can spend the mana on an earlier turn and then wait until it becomes useful, it also has two charges, and with all the elemental summoning and ox it'd be very easy to get something like a rag or grom and push an extra 8 or 10 damage face. Could also force your opponent to play awkwardly if you have it up, they might not want to summon their titan or big minion knowing it can get copied at any time. Might be too greedy and slow to see play, but could also be worth consideration in a highlander deck, I think its at least a 2 star instead of a 1 star.
So the summoning effect of Shimmer Shot works with Enchanters double damage effect? Is there any other example of this type of interaction working like that?
he misses the entire point of why pala excavate soo good, excavate cards are neutral and you loose every single paladin only benefit so no Countess or anything like that, you cannot realistically reach legendary excavate card with paladin only excavates, this is key, you are overrating this paladin stuff, paladin will remain pure pala
Why the hell he is saying that all the bad standard cards are arena playable like he knowns the format, even so he should only be talking about standard and not using arena playable as a form of saying that the card is bad
Because Arena and Standard are two completely different game modes, and some cards that are bad in one can be good in another...?? Why the hell do you care whether or not he gives an opinion for Arena viability?
Golganneth, the Thunderer makes your first spell each turn cost 3 less (in shaman). Shroomscavate costs 3 mana and is a spell in shaman. Shroomscavate gives windfury. EVEN better: Blindeye Sharpshooter. Making that go dormant is INSANE.
the damaged part seems a little clunky but i could see that working
4 mana do nothing is still pretty damn brutal
If your naga DH is at least at turn 8 to play sharpshooter into spell into location then something has quite worked out for you.
excavate shaman with the nature spell package. elemental that summons elementals as you cast nature spells. your excavate cards get cheapened by the 2 mana draw. and you can evolve your board of tokens and deck because your a deck of spells mainly.
Brann basically just makes every Warrior deck better, at the cost of only being able to run half the cards you want in those decks. Odyn plus Tidal Revenant is like 26 damage. So azerite dragon allows paladin to do an otk with literally any minion -
2x gardens grace
The new windfury card
Azerite dragon
+ Conquerors aura (which could even be coined out on the same turn if they saved it) = 30 damage OTK
I think someone in the dev team is a paladin main
And they can alternate dragon or conqueror, or just dump dragon down at any point and it works cause who needs otk combos to be difficult right

No blood excavate is incredibly bad because u need reska. 3 blood support is ALL rotating out so we need blood

Chaos creation is going to lead to so many bricked yoggs/prisons I'm looking forward to it XD
Love anything that makes yogg prison worse
Azerite Murloc is a sleeper it's great refuel or maybe alternative win con
I wonder if the new rogue dh weapon will have a place in excavate/coin decks. turn 1 shovel, turn 2 new weapon for excavate and a draw.
23:29 the naga package in hunter still there, together with very cheap spells and the bananas. And they love to cast spell. It can go in a very aggressive hunter
Naga Mage also is still super playable
All these new spells is gonna be great on excavate rogue
What if you Use the mage secret to summon a copy of arcane giant with extra turn (quest) and then you alex

For crimson expanse i think this is a good card for Big hunter
soulfreeze must be a 5 star card in any highlander warlock decks especially in wild. It stalls a whole turn for 1 mana
With Fel Fissure and the location, there might be a Big Demon Hunter deck to come out of this mini-set. Fissure is certainly great against any agro deck. Consecration that forces your opponent not to develop for a turn cause their board will just get wiped again.
The chaos creation might be used after steam cleaner leaves standard for sludge warlock. I think thats what it was designed for
31:30 I don't think it would be good with the Countess, because you can't run neutral excavates in your deck then.
simply dont
