Great save of the print after the paint failure. That is often the end of a project for many people.
I wasn't a 'happy chappy' after that happened. Thanks for watching
Using foliage to hide imperfection is a brilliant idea never really thought about it now i need to do this with my zatanna statue
I'm always trying to hide imperfections
Woodfiller works great on those large gaps. Plus if you print on the non joining side, those seams will be minimal. I did a couple of videos on my channel on this.
And subbed.
Well, hello Henry! I also gave him a couple of pointers. I love how the 3d printing and painting community is all about helping one another. 😊
@@HomemadeJam3D It seems like a great community
@@ScaleModelGeek it is! And you're welcome in it!! Everyone is welcome. 😊
Had a similar issue with primer on a resin model. Bottom line, SCRUB with a good degreaser like simple green, rinse and let dry, wash one more time with a good detergent like Dawn, rinse and let dry. Final wipe with isopropyl alcohol and I’ve never had an issue since. Great work BTW
Sounds like good advice. I don't think I did a final wipe of IPA. Thanks for watching
I was a little skeptical at first when I saw the print but some great tips at resolving the issues and the base was fantastic. End result was superb.
Thanks Shaun
Wauw, this turned out nice ! >>--> I was also thinking about the question you asked about keeping detail in the cape..
Im not sure and its my own brainwave but maybe you can bring detail back by covering the parts who miss detail in a realy thin layer of resin and press a large fiber cloth into it, remove it, and then cure ?
If the resin is to thin you could add a tiny bit of babypowder to make it a little thicker to keep detail after the cloth has been removed..
Maybe that works :)
I ended doing that very technique in later builds and it worked a treat. Thanks for watching
I am the one who sculpt this model, thanks a lot for putting so much love to it! I love what you did with the base! Great Channel!
My pleasure and thank you
WOW!, everything looks great specially that base!!
Thank you
Looks amazing
Thank you
great job! Love what you did with the base!
Thanks
Amazing work, the gesturing is wonderful!
Thank you
Awesome job! The base came out great!
Thanks Daniel. I learned at lot from this build.
Superb painting skills just a tip if you want to fill in the support dimples with resin use a old brush to apply it. It tends to flow/fill better and not leave globs on the statue
Great advice. I'll try that next time
I had the same joint issues with the same model I did it a little smaller but still with a bit of work it turn out ok
Wow! Amazing
Thanks
I use epoxy putty for seams, especially with cloth and skin texture.
That sounds like a great idea.
Good job mate
Thanks
Amazing work my friend. I noticed the part of the cape that failed as well before I started printing. I contacted the artist and hopefully he can fix it and make this model even better. Keep up the good work!
Thank you so much.
Amazing work! Keep the videos coming! Moon Knight is such a good show.
Thanks. I try and upload one every 2 weeks.
Great work, best of luck on your channel!!
Thank you
Beautiful work!
Thanks
You may be able to recover detail in the cape, or any model for that matter, during the painting process. use a thicker layer of base coat and get yourself some fabric. use the fabric to dab on the wet base coat. May require a few layers. Season to taste lol.
I actually did think of that of sorts. I was going to use fabric to dab the joint filler to create the texture. I think your idea to use it on the paint will be far more effective. I will have to try that next time. Thanks for that.
@@ScaleModelGeek no problem and thanks for the great videos! A good friend of mine just got a 3d printer so we're about to start learning tricks quickly lol.
@@keepsgoing4evr1 Good luck with that. I had so many issues when I first started but after a truckload of failures, it's all good.
@@ScaleModelGeek lol every lesson I've ever learned in life was a hard one. Can't wait though. I already purchased a ton of filament and have so many projects to print for my sim racing setup. Well that and my kids now want us to print every toy they've ever seen lol. Going to be a fun journey for sure!
Muito bom sua criatividade e cuidados aos mínimos detalhes da peça, parabéns!
Thanks
The models you are building are great! I alredy bought the batman one, waiting for the next build! Keep up the grat work
Thank you
Amazing job!
Thanks Ricardo
Hallo, wow its a amazing print 👍How much resin did you need for the print ???
About 600ml. Moon Knight and the base is hollow.
For filling up the gaps and seams, milliput or a wood filler works great
I never thought of wood filler. I might have to try it
@@ScaleModelGeek You can also mix the resin with baby powder until it makes a paste, and it's a little easier to work with for filling gaps
@@nickputman3491 Really? I'm going to try that.
The amount of subs and views you have is in no way reflective of the quality of your work. This channel is bound to blow up given the time you put into your videos.
+1 sub!
Thanks so much. It is a new channel so let's hope it all goes well.
@@ScaleModelGeek +1 sub
You cannot sand Vallejo paints as it’s basicaly a plastic bag that shrinks to fit . I dipped a model that had ex amount of paint runs , it dried out perfectly , it’s shrink to fit poly bag . Rubbing it breaks the poly bag .
This came out so much better than mine! lol Where did you find this model? I purchased one off of CGTrader I believe but it was just the torso and the head, not the full body like yours. It came out great!
Thanks and I got mine from CG Trader as well. Here is the link. www.cgtrader.com/3d-print-models/art/sculptures/fan-art-moon-knight-statue
Nice job!
Thank you
nice work!
Thanks
awesome work! you should make a Daredevil statue.
That did cross my mind
Great job! Could have gone with a bit whiter so it wasnt the same color as the base.
I agree
Where can you find the download for this print?

I wasn't 100% happy with how the moss looked so has anyone have any suggestions for an alternative?
I have a video on my channel that will help you with that. Just look for the house 😁
where did you get the model?
CGTrader
@@ScaleModelGeek Thanks! Btw, nice video!
