Hey Mikko, will you be creating more of these reflex IRs? I love what's here for the initial launch but I'm a huge fan of the MARS Mofo pack and would love to have a reflex version of that pack
Would very much appreciate a Reflex IR MIKKO2 expansion. I'm very much intrigued by your new approach, but plain IR response files simply do not sit well with my typical workflow, so I'd rather spend the money on a respective MIKKO2 expansion.
I bought the triple pack a few days after release and the Djent-30 sounded so close to the Mega-Djent library. Which is a positive, as I really enjoy the Mega-Djent. The Green 90 is seriously one of the best Greenback libraries, I ever used. The Mick-77 library was not to my taste. But who knows, maybe I can use it somewhere down the line as a blend.
Thank you for the feedback! If you haven't already, try blending the Djent 30 with the Mick 77 - Djent adds a nice amount of presence and articulation, and Mick can bring in some depth and thickness. -Kai
Hey did anything ever come of that channel strip style plugin you designed for yourself? It had a sort of stock daw plugin ui. I remember that thing being pretty kick ass. I’m still interested in that becoming a product if it were possible.
We're still using it, still working on it, still talking about it! These things take some time for sure, but hopefully we'll be able to make it a reality 🙏 -Kai
@@mlsoundlab fantastic!!! I’ll be here for it when it arrives!!! I really like the cut the clutter approach to it. Lots of plugins you only need for one thing. So why not consolidate?! Thanks for the reply! Just another reason I’m happy to be a customer.
Im searchin for an allround IR for all Kinds of metal Standard E and Down to Drop C) I use it mostly for Jamming und playing alone through a Activ cabinet with an Celestion f12x200, not für Mixing, what would you chose, an Reflex IR jr an Standard IR??
The Reflex IRs will typically sit better than traditional IRs whenever you're in a full mix context - whether that's a full band jam session, playing to backing tracks, or recording. -Kai
I didn't watch the video in fullscreen so I first thought the first example would be the 4x12 and the second one would be the Reflex. I preferred the first, so I was a bit perplexed for a moment. Maybe we just have different tastes, I guess? Turns out I actually prefer the Reflex. ;)
reflex sounds even more 600hertzy here for some reason. more of that mid howl to me through my phone speakers(guilty) 4x12 feels clearer and tighter. maybe just due to different cab/mic placement
I agree and disagree. The mid range is neutral on Reflex while it's going to have that phasy thing leading to a scoop on a 4x12 so yes Reflex has more mids in comparison and none of that resonant rumble that's there on a 4x12. I like both of those sounds but if I want something that's clear and tight in the mix that's what Reflex is for. If I want to blend the bass and guitar more into sounding like they're one thing rather than separate instruments then maybe the 4x12 is better for that because of the resonances in the lows?
Yeah there are stuff from both that I like. The Reflex sounds fuller but the pick attack or something in that area for the 4x12 sounds insanely punchy. Also guilty of phone speakers BTW, sorry 😅
How do the reflex IRs translate in a live situation.. I'm a fractal FM3 user and I'm looking for some good aftermarket IRs for a loud live situation in a hard rock/country band
Minimum phase transform. That format is processed for time alignment with IRs made by other companies. If you only use ML IRs then stick to the regular format as it's higher quality. 😊
I really wanna buy these packs piece meal to use in the mikko 2 plug in. The full Mikko 2 plug in has so much I’m not interested in and a steeeeeep price (understandable for all the stuff).
@@mlsoundlab Could be an entirely new plugin that costs the same list price as Mikko2 and I'd happily pay it! Call it Mikko Reflex and just throw a bunch of different single speakers in there :D
this is just my idea, I have been using a lot of ml sound lab products for more than a year. That sounds so good. is it possible in the future, ml sound lab make free simple powerful IR loader, that has unique tools? blend, analyze, align, shape, saturate, multiband IR between frequency spectrum, and export IR (wave format). I really hope that idea happens, and created. *peace ✌😎 just sharing my own thoughts.
It's something we've spoken about a few times in the past - it's always on the cards, but not something I can confirm or deny with any degree of certainty. -Kai
ive been using the reflex irs, these are the most realistic sounding cabs i ever used in my mixes!
F yeah, I’ve been waiting for this!
Awesome buddy! :)

We will! No idea when we'll be dropping more, but we're definitely wanting to get more of our speakers into the Reflex cab! 💪
-Kai
Wow, I don’t know if people realise but this must be the biggest revelation in cab IR technoligy since IR’s came out
thanks for this more in depth video ! :)
Great job on new IR’s I’ll definitely be getting green 90 pack. Also will the new cabs be included in mikko 2?
We're thinking about a potential MIKKO2 expansion of some sort. Super early thoughts. 😮

@@mlsoundlab STL Libra will be fed soon to try that. Thank you for the recommendation.

Please make it a thing. We want to work on our skills not have to mess around choosing a million plugins and parameters.

Reflex IRs should work brilliantly in a live mix, for much the same reasons that they work well in a studio environment!

Is the Mikko 2 plug-in using reflex ir?
No, MIKKO2 is built from Mikko's cab collection - we've had a few requests asking for a Reflex version of the MIKKO2 plugin though!

Will the reflex IRs be added to MIKKO2?
Excellent question! Can't say anything for certain, buuut I can say it's been requested an awful lot. It's a possibility for sure!

@@mlsoundlab yeah just hopefully it really happens man, especially that feature is so good, simple, powerful, and very useful. 🤘😎
The difference in low end clarity is huge. I often struggle with getting the bass to shine in the mix.
The AxeFX has smoothing.
That's quite a different thing.
Wow. That was a bigger difference than I was expecting. The reflex IR really jumps out at you 🎉. Now stop making videos and get these into MIKKO2 😂

I'm going to have to start using this more often!! -M 🤣
