  • I love powder eyeshadow palettes - they bring out the hidden artist in me. But even though I am seduced by the colors and textures, I have realized that the real workhorse eye shadow products for me now are cream eyeshadows. They are easy to apply and don't highlight fine lines and wrinkles.
So I decided to record a video sharing with you my favorite cream eyeshadow products. There are many more and the joy of cream eye shadows is that they do come in all shades and textures by multiple brands. Some have been around for a long time, others relatively new. I didn't even mention Maybelline Color Tattoo and so many others!!
Please share your favorite cream eyeshadows!!
    Here are some of mine.

You look lovely as usual! I look forward to your Saturday makeup posts very much. What I like most about your channel above all others is your focus on having fun and making the most of what we have at this phase of our lives. All the other over-40 RUclipsrs are obsessed with anti-aging, which at the end of the day is a losing battle. Your channel feels so much more optimistic and energizing!

Margaret, you eyes are stunning. As always your make-up is flawless. I love the Georgio Armani and the Kiko Milano products. Absolutely love your channel. You always give us a wide range of choices, your recommendations of what works on aging skin has been so helpful to me. You are beautiful on the inside as well as inside and it show's so very much in your videos.

Hi Margaret: I'm priced out of all but the Milani and Revlon. However, due to my sensitive eyes, I can mostly only use hypoallergenic brands. Revlon is usually opthalmologist tested, so I can work with that. I do own one cream (stick) shadow that works for me, though. It's an aubergine shade, yet quite neutral. I must tell you that, whenever I'm having an anxious day, your videos help me. Your voice is both soothing and reassuring. All the shadows are extremely flattering on you! Thank you so much for always being here for us. Take care. Rosemarie 💖

Hi Margaret, I just turned 60 in October. As I said earlier, I love the way you do your eye makeup, especially the pop of frost in the center of the lids.

Thanks Margaret. I find it difficult to find cream eyeshadow that is not too sparkly. I love the shimmer but not the fall out from sparkles so I’m glad there are finally better options. I have not seen some of your brands but it will be fun to look for them. 🍁

Thanks for this informative video, Margaret. I’m starting to think that cream eyeshadows work better on my 70 year old eyes. I wanted to mention that I picked up 2 Nudestix at the Ulta fall sale. My favorite color is the matte taupe.

Nabla too makes similar lovely eyeshadow sticks. I think they are called Cupid sticks or something like that. They are pretty long lasting and don’t feel tacky.🥰❤️

🤗Happy Saturday everyone from southeast Michigan. Thank you for your valuable advice, Margaret. I’ve been wanting to try a cream shadow but afraid it would settle. I work retail and sometimes ‘perspire’ LOL (are they still hot flashes at 65????) and it even drips into my lids - would these be considered waterproof? I need to find a waterproof blush, too. By end of day I look like a ghost! Very fitting since tomorrow is Halloween👻. I hope everyone stays safe and well. And many thanks for all your suggestions 🧡🎃🍂🍁🧡

Hi Margaret, I like a combination of Creams and powders. I very much like the crayon style sticks from by Terry, as it's about the only thing I've found that if I put it on in the morning, it sets very quickly and just stays all day. I love By Terry shadow powder pallets too. One thing I know I have to stop buying more pallets as I have so many it's ridiculous. I say that and remember I bought a new one yesterday! Makeup is my downfall, I must sit down and sort through all I have and cull some. It's all just a bit of fun though.

Danessa Myricks makes some excellent cream shadows in small tubes. The formula is very concentrated and the shadows are long lasting. I’ve enjoyed that formula quite a bit.

Thanks for the video. It'd be interesting to know what you think of highlighters. I have a Too Faced palette, it consists of a blusher, bronzer and a highlighter which I sometimes use as a eye colour. Works really well (and gives quite a subtle look).

Great video but a bit frustrating as I’m in the UK and can’t find some of the products. I can’t see any list “below” of the products so I’m having to rewatch the product many times as Margaret talks so fast! She is lovely and I love her look. Would really like her to actually do one eye so we can see how she actually does it.

I have found Mac Hush paint pot to function much like the RMS eye polish and doesn’t cost as much. Not “clean” either. I’m curious to hear about your tips for applying cream eye shadows. I’m 72 as well, and am always looking for cream eyeshadows that really show up and stay. My skin tone is darker than yours and for some reason the LM shadow sticks just don’t show up very well on my lids. I use them as a base for shimmer shadows (powder) which works quite well.

Thank you for this. I am on the hunt for matte cream eye shadow and all I am finding are lines with some type of luminescence. Any info on true matte creams out there?.

  • @sandracohen8481
    @sandracohen8481 2 года назад

So, you were using a powder for the base and the cream over that. Did you use a primer before the powder base. I'm confused, I thought you were talking about cream eyeshadows but it's the purple that you have on in the video a powder
    Thanks
    Sandra

I much prefer cream make up on my mid-sixties skin. It's easier for me to put on just hints of color whereas powders have gotten too saturated. The drugstore cream shadows look good, esp the Revlon palette. Usually I don't bother with eyeshadow since I wear transition glasses that don't get completely clear, but I do put highlight on my lid (to "wake up" my eyes). I can't wear mascara either since I have such sparse, stubby lashes, but your idea of putting a dark shadow near the lash line/in outer corner to simply accentuate my eyes behind the lenses, would fill in without looking too harsh I would think (eyeliner or brow pencil/gel, etc are other things that look way too severe on me even in Taupe or Grey as I'm so pale-Essence brow gel in Blond is okay tho'). I refuse to look like the little old lady who's trying too hard!

Happy Halloween! 🎃, Margaret. I retired 11 years ago from my job of 35 years. I have enjoyed the ability to shop and run errands during the week without crowds. I have enjoyed planning excursions both short and long with my husband and friends. I have enjoyed spending time with grandchildren. All good. I took a part time job in the evening at our local nursing home just to earn some “mad” money. However, I became depressed in that environment, so I left. Two weeks ago, my former employer called me back to work as a Contractor because my particular skill set is needed. It is full time and I am struggling. I am not accustomed to working 8 hours a day any longer. However, the pay is very good so I’m going to keep working for now. Anyway, retirement has been quite an adventure. I do love it. Take good care.

i think you meant lids - but i just make sure i use the cream eyeshadow by Auric first - it acts as a grip for the metallic eyeshadows :-)
