I love the way that you know your skin and that you change products and not get in a rut. As we grow older we do have to adjust to our ever changing skin needs
Very pretty look, Margaret, not at all heavy. I love that you try different colors and products all the time; keeps your look fresh and I’m learning to do that from you. And you don’t need a hair piece!
What a great look. That foundation makes your skin looks so nice. Great idea on the eye shadow technique. I have tried one and done shadow looks with Laura Mercier cream shadow sticks when I want to get out the door quickly. I like the look of the smaller Natasha Denona set. I’m kind of over large palettes where I use 3 shadows and never touch the rest.
It’s amazing how good the formulas of cosmetics are today. They have come a long way since the 70s, 80s and 90s. From base/face products to eyeshadows, they are a lot easier to apply, with much better color selections and in general, more fun to use.
You look great Margaret- thank you. I like the idea of cream products and will definitely explore some. Sadly I am not sure the ‘lid only’ method would work for me as I have very hooded eyes so I think it would look as if there was nothing there at all!
Great video, Margaret! When I apply mascara after using my eyelash curler, I first touch the tips of my eyelashes with the wand before continuing with the root to tip application. It helps to see exactly where the ends of the lashes are and separates them a bit, too.
Hi Margaret. You look lovely. The blush is very pretty. I use eye primer on my lids, brow and below the eye. I use Thrive Cosmetics for eye and face primer. Thank you for sharing and the tips.
What a beautiful look Margaret can you tell me the name of that foundation again as it is lovely. You have the most gorgeous big eyes and good eyelashes too so mascara really shows up on them. My eyelashes are rubbish short and straight and fair so I have to resort to falsies. The lip colour that you eventually created is so pretty it matches your top and by the way I love your hand mirror.🥰💜
Hi Katrina - its by Radiant Professional cosmetics - radiant-professional.com/en/ If you can't get it shipped to you my second favorite is Boots No 7 Hydra Luminous or finally Ciate London foundation.
I love elf cosmetics .I use the putty primer on my eye lids and it works great. Love playing with makeup and being so affordable if I order the wrong color, it is no big deal. The small eyeshadow pallets are only four dollars in the states. I order all their products directly from their website and receive them in a few days. They always offer free gifts if you order over $25.
Great tips Margaret! I just bought the Honest Beauty Peony Pink....SO pretty. I've been deep diving into creme blushes too...so flattering on mature skin. Thanks for sharing and have a great day! 🥰
I cannot believe that you are 72 you like like 60, you are an amazing pretty woman, even without makeup! Thankyou so much for sharing your makeup tips!
At my age of 58 I found that less is best. I put on moisturizer, then put on Laura Gellar B&B foundation, blush and some lip balm and that is is! One light brown or taupe eye shadow works for me and really makes my blue eyes stand out. I have a Nudes matte eye shadow palette but found it makes my eyes look more wrinkly than they already are! Elizabeth Arden shadow seems to work well or any satin shadow instead of a matte. Nothing glittery either
Margaret, you look just fabulous 💕💕!! I have been putting powder eyeshadow up above the crease for years and it always gets stuck in the wrinkles on my brow bone and looks terrible halfway through the day. But with your suggestion of cream shadow and applying only to the lid, you have solved my problem! Thank you, thank you, thank you 👌😊💕💕!! I'm going to try your other tips also! You are such a blessing 🙏🤗❤❤!!
Wonderful! It's funny in the last few weeks i have seen more older bloggers following this idea too - just putting eye shadow on the lid and using cream rather than powder - glad you found it useful
Your haircut is so flattering. Thanks for this application tip video. I think I'll give up on the under eye concealer. I end up wiping it off by noon anyway!
I enjoy watching you play with makeup and advising us on the pros and cons of what you've experienced with products. I trust your advice fully! Thank you!!
This was fun! Nice that you have done all the research and applied it live for me/us. And your new? bob looks so fresh and sophisticated. Ps Think about having a seminar or something in London. I would love a reason to visit London, and to meet YOU and others of the Sixty and Me community.
Your 10 tips are wonderful. I still have many powder blushes that I like but recently I have added cream blushes and cream highlighters to my makeup stash. They're very popular right now and available at all price points. I recently tried NYX Born To Glow Foundation; it's luminous and very affordable at $9.99. Have a great week!
Another fabulous video. Wonderful tips and tricks to help us look our best self. I also love the elf brow cream. I think our brows are related lol.😍 Have a great day love always to you and all the gals out there. Have a great and safe weekend
Oh Margaret, I never know how to suggest something like this without sounding mean or judgmental. I hope you understand that. You're a looker and deserve the very best and most complimentary makeup. BTW, we're the same age! 🙂
I discovered Clinique eyebrow powder and love it! I have spent so much money trying to find the right eyebrow product. It comes with two cute brushes which fit in the tray with the powder. They make applying the powder so easy and it stays put.
Margaret, your skin before makeup looks fabulous! I love the elf eyebrow product on you. For me, I think mascara, cream blush and lipstick are a quick way to wake up my face.
Berts bees does a really nice cream eyeshadow and rose gold :-) it was about nine dollars! But they only make four colors and that is the lightest one. I also found you can turn other shimmer powder shadows into cream with a rich moisturizer. You don’t get the same bright metallic foil effect, but it’s still nice soft and s and satiny finish. :-)
A few weeks ago I watched a video - not this one - where you were excited to share a new technique for applying eyeshadow. It's the 'stripe' method, where you applied three different colours to the eyelid and blended them together with a fluffy brush in one direction only, from the corner of the eye outwards. (I looked and looked for that video but cannot find it.) Well, I have been using - and perfecting! - this technique of applying eyeshadow ever since. It has changed my life! The result is magical and never fails to produce a beautiful ombre effect even on my 75-year old hooded eyelids. I use matte shadows for the outer and inner third, and a shimmer in the middle. Thanks for sharing that tip, Margaret!
Love your video. The shadow application is good for me because I was never good at all the shadow layering. Will be trying this. Thank you always for all the good tips.
Admire the way you embrace your skin and your age ! Wonderful make over looks great I have to keep working at that and find products that work for me I've already have skin care down !!!!
Love your eyeshadows, they bring out the gorgeous colour of your eyes. Thanks Margaret for the tips, I’m going to experiment with cream blush and eyeshadows.
I like honest beauty blush too. I accidentally ordered a coral color but really like it and I would have never chosen it. It goes over the Laura Gellar Balance and brighten powder foundation too which looks great on my mature skin even around eyes. So easy and perfect to travel with too!
I never thought two combine lipsticks; what a great idea. I too only put shadow on my lid but I am going to start mixing the one shade with another. Margaret, I love your new hairstyle. You look great.
I have purchased similar beaded necklaces from a seller on Etsy. She’s located in the UK, and service/shipping to the US was very reasonable and quick. Her shop: Perles Magiques Devon
Thank you for your great makeup tips! I like your suggestion of placing eyeshadow only on the lid of the eye. I have difficulty trying to use darker colors on the corner of my hooded eyes. You always look lovely!
Just have tried a cream blush, you are right, it is great for mature skin, maybe for any skin, but am loving it. Thanks for that tip. Your color is pretty on you.
Hi Margaret! Your tutorials inspire me to try new products and techniques. I loved the glow that the foundation from Radiant Professional Cosmetics gave your skin but when I went to their website I discovered that they don’t ship to the US. Can you suggest a similar product that I could buy here?
I just found you today. You are beautiful inside and out. I will watch you everyday. You also relaxed me. I needed that too. So glad I found your channel!
Toasted is my favorite eyeshadow, also. I have always been glad that you recommended it. So, I just ordered Rose Gold from Charlotte Tilbury. I,m sure I’ll. love it too
Great video! New product I’ve been looking for a good mascara. This must be one of the few times where you didn’t list products you used. I wish you had
Very nice look for you 😀 I agree about the concealer under the eyes. It is trial and error and eventually finding the best for you. I have to avoid the ‘shape tape’ concealers that look great on young skin but I found them to be very cakey and I saw wrinkles appear out of nowhere! Yikes 😀
Lovely video, lovely look! I have very dark under eyes. No bags, just dark. How do I prevent eye shadow fall out onto my just-concealed under eyes? Frustrating!
I am learning a lot from you about applying makeup to enhance my look. Thank you, it really takes the stress away by learning new ways and ideas, it is very helpful, and thanks again. Have a nice evening! 🌺
Margaret , thank you for tips but, I wonder if you wear that much makeup going out during the day? For the camera this look good ,one can have more but in day light this would look to heavy. I would appreciate if you show us your everyday makeup tips. Thanks
I'm 72 also...purchased the Maybelline Total Temptation brow pencil you suggested...it is fabulous. Will be using it going forward. 😍 May I ask you to consider doing a video on false lashes. There are some of us that mascara is no longer possible. Eyelashes to sparce & short. Thank you for doing what you do. So fabulous to have someone of maturity knowing that we can still look beautiful...inside & out
If I may say so, Margaret, with your face shape it would be better to apply the blusher more horizontally. Going up with the brush elongates it. I have a wide, squarish face and applying blusher that way works well while doing it more horizontally makes my face wider.
Always enjoy your videos Margaret, & todays was lovely hearing all those wonderful tips for applying our makeup. You look so pretty, & that foundation is gorgeous. Greetings from Australia...🥰💋💄
You might like to try Revlon Color Stay Brow Creator. its a nice stick with the crayon on one side, the brush on the other end and a powder in the middle! very practical. Also with my very droopy eyes I need to put the darker shade higher than the browbone to recede the droop.
Wonderful tips; and wow - the foundation looks amazing! I have the Honest Beauty Cream Blush in Pink Peony - just love that color, too! Thank you for sharing your knowledge and recommendations!
Great look Margaret! You are glowing! Have you tried the huda beauty stick foundation yet? I just did after seeing someone do a demo of it- fabulous! I think you will enjoy it! Have a wonderful rest of the weekend! Keep Yourself Well💚
I’m 18 but use the same eyeshadow technique. I used to wear those heavy makeup looks and cut crease and stuff. Then I stopped wearing any makeup for a year and started wearing makeup again a year ago. At first I did heavy makeup again but after one year of not using any makeup it looks so wrong and feels wrong. I don’t like myself anymore with that much makeup. I feel like a clown with heavy makeup now it only looks good for photos. Same with those tips for hooded eyes. I have pretty intense hooded eyes and did my makeup how some people say is better for hooded eyes. But then I realized that it looks odd because I’m not looking straight and serious all the time. So I stuck with this technique because you can see that I wear eyeshadow but it’s not looking like too much or something. Just looks good on nearly everyone and it’s so easy too!
Margaret you are lovely but wonder if you’ve tried a hairpiece for the top of you hair just to add a little volume. Maybe do a video on options for us that are losing hair.
I want to. Thank you for your comments. I’m not very interested in hair pieces and I’m at peace with my thinning hair. We have written several articles on the topic however so if you go to the website you’ll be able to find them there. Thank you for watching
Thank you for this video. I am trying to explore hairstyles. Can you do a video on that? I find as I age, I have asymmetry on one side of my face. With loss of bone and elasticity my right side is lower than my left and I am trying to find a hairstyle to balance my face. I have lost all self confidence. Any advice would be appreciated ♥️
I have a few matte lipsticks that I do not wear because of them being too dry on my lips which are dry. I do add a lip balm underneath but depending on the lipstick my lips may still feel dry and uncomfortable. I will try your tip of adding a creamy lipstick on top and hopefully that helps. Tfs💜
Hi Margaret. After watching your video I went to the Radiant Professional Cosmetics website to order the Wonderlight foundation + serum but I couldn’t find the color “cool beige”. I think I would wear the same shade as you wear. Could there be another name for the shade you wear? Thanks!!
Love your necklaces were do you buy them.grasias love your smile I just noticed so.eone else aske the same question so you said you make them.yourself so can you advice were i would be able to.locate the diff beads to make some myself grasias
Beautiful, sweet, but try putting your cheek color up high, no further down than the outer corner of your eye. It gives a lifting effect. As we age we need to avoid putt our cheek color downward onto the apples of our cheeks as we once did when we were younger. It has a downward pulling effect and pulls our face down and ages our look.
Havent watched in a while.....thank you for the supurb tips....time to go shopping !
Margaret 🌸
You help is over 55s too😉
I think your skin doesn’t need foundation you are just lovely. Thank You for this Margaret 🍑🙌🏻Lisa

This is perfect! I too, have found that I can't extend my eye shadow up too high anymore. I also mix my lipsticks. Great tips!!
Fun & great tips! Thanks Margaret! You look lovely and natural.
Margaret you look terrific! And thank you for sharing your tips, tricks and colors!
Thanks for watching!

I agree. I'm 60 years old.
Love the advice, I agree that it can be too complex and time consuming to do the full eye.
Amen to that!!!
You look great Margaret- thank you. I like the idea of cream products and will definitely explore some. Sadly I am not sure the ‘lid only’ method would work for me as I have very hooded eyes so I think it would look as if there was nothing there at all!

Margaret, that make up look.is beautiful, the tones are lovely😁😁💄💄keep well and safe.
I also love creme blushes, even before my skin got so dry. I will look at Honest, my Clinique shade I think was discontinued.
Hi Margaret. You look lovely. The blush is very pretty. I use eye primer on my lids, brow and below the eye. I use Thrive Cosmetics for eye and face primer. Thank you for sharing and the tips.
I love Thrive. Especially their mascara, it is the best. I also use their CC cream, Blurring Primer, Eye lift primer, and cream to powder highlighter.

I put highlighter and blush first (use both cream and powder) then apply foundation on top gives a lovely sheen rather than stripes stuck to lines 😍😁

Placing the eyeshadow on the lid only does not work for me as I have hooded eyes. Your lids are visible which probably is why it works 😀
It looks great !!
Hi Margaret, looks really pretty 🥰❤
Thank you, t enjoy your videos ❤
Thank you Theresa! 🌺
