And every photo, once a few years has passed, makes you think "I looked great then".😊
Isn't that a funny phenomenon! Same here.
Inner joy shows through, even in photos. I’ve never been very photogenic, but I don’t mind having my photo taken, especially when I travel. It helps me remember the good times.
I think I haven't liked having my photo taken because the photo doesn't match up with what I see in the mirror. When I was younger, I would occasionally like a photo of myself, but when I try those same poses now they just don't look the same. I feel like I'm attractive enough. I just don't feel the photo captures that.
I've noticed that also. My reflection in the mirror is not the same image I see of myself in photos. I often wonder which one is closer to reality. I hope it's what I see in the mirror 😄
My facial presentation is too animated. I always make a "face".
I have that same experience, but I think it’s because of vision changes as I’ve aged. What I’m seeing in the mirror is clearly a little fuzzier than reality, and of course the camera is picking up reality. My slightly fuzzy eyes are “smoothing out” a lot of lines and wrinkles. Which is okay. If I can go about the day with that illusion, so much the better.
I have NEVER like having my picture taken and I have always been quite pretty so I don't know why
Hi Margaret. My best friend and I were only saying the other day, how when we were young, we didn't realize how beautiful we were.
I noticed one of your viewers said now she is older, she dresses in a more playful way. I recently attended my Grandaughters wedding, and dressed bohemian. I got alot of compliments. That is really the way I am anyway, so maybe dressing to the woman you are, brings out your authenticity. I know it's not for everyone, but for me it works. Makes me very happy too.
Hi Linda. This is really a beautiful response. I’m glad that you found that parcel inside of you. That makes you feel beautiful and worthy of compliments. I love Boho clothing and it sounds like you do too. Have a wonderful week ahead.
Wow huge eye opener. We're our own worst critics. Thanks for the reminder that we are beautiful just as we are...beauty resides in the heart.
Absolutely!! When I asked this question and so many women that they had having their pictures taken I really felt inspired to remind you this self love is so hard but worthy of your attention
Love your necklace! But really, as I get older, I don't love how I look in pictures, but the desire to save the memories help me overcome that reticence. Fun topic. Thank you.
Margaret you are such a beautiful person inside and out. I really admire you. You always look so lovely, comfortable and relaxed. I'm 66 years old and don't like my picture taken anymore. Thank you for your wisdom and tips for a picture taken. Yes, this has not only been helpful but inspiring too. Will practice taking a selfie😅❤
Thank you so much!
I absolutely am horrified to have my picture taken. I can’t seem to adjust in any way, to see what I look like now, at 72. But I have felt like his for years. I agree with all you say, and you are always so positive and uplifting. I’ll try, because of you.
''Always remember you've got eyes" LOL🤣
thanks again for a great video Margaret🥰
Greetings Margaret! I have never liked having my picture taken. And now, I am so aware of how I look, that I try to hide behind other people. My daughter in law and her mother are so photogenic and I am so self-conscious! Love and blessings ♥️🙏
Thanks for sharing!!
i never liked being in photos. i've been camera shy since i was a small child. i'm shy in general so i think it's just an extension of never wanting to be a focal point!
Thank you for the video. You are absolutely beautiful inside and out!!!
Thank you so much!
Yes, confidence.
Loved this video. You really are amazing
Thank you so much!!
We humans are too much focused on outward appearances and fashion statements. We should rather love ourselves and other people unconditionally❤
It reminds me of the movie "The picture of the Dorian Gray", always concerned about your look. This is some kind of narcissistic, isn't it? A reason, you use always make-up 😊.
I agree with your comment 1,000,000%
Just recently someone took a picture of me together with my three brothers, cropped me out of it and sent it back to me What a way to boost my confidence!
That someone should be ashamed
That someone could be jealous of you. Feel sorry for that poor soul & do get another photo with your brothers. We love family photos.❤
I've always hated having my photo taken. On the rare occasions I can't avoid it, I'm so self-conscious I can't relax. So I always look like someone's just rammed a broom-handle up my derrière. Having to look at the resulting photos is super-stressful as I know before I even look that they will be awful. And they always are.
You were definitely not alone in this response. So many women feel this way. I hope that one day you can relax and let your beautiful inner self come out. But for now being honest, this is the most important thing. I appreciate you sharing.
I am reading the book of doors. Thank you i love it! I would love a book of doors!
Wonderful!
Thank you so much! Don't like my picture taken the older I get 😢
It's okay
Wonderful topic and thoughts! I agree that it takes a mind shift. I find that wanting to look like I did when I was younger is not serving me. I am different now. I look different now. And comparing myself to my younger self or someone else is hurtful to me. I do my best to accept signs that I'm aging, like wrinkles, and embrace them!
I like to be prepared for any photo of me. No candid shots. Especially when I don't have foundation on. I have gained a lot of age spots that I don't like. As far as eyebrows are concerned, I hear they are sisters not twins.
@cheriebyrnes4697 Wrinkles are beautiful, and age spots are beautiful. Your eyebrows are part of what makes you you. No one is perfectly symmetrical.
@@cheriebyrnes4697 If you feel better being prepared and with foundation, that's fine. Whatever makes you feel good.
@@cheriebyrnes4697”eyebrows are sisters not twins”😂😂😂😂
That’s a fantastic saying 😂😂Thank you❤
Good Sunday morning🎉 I love the pictures of my growing-up year's the best, because, it captures my true character
T❤❤
Thank you so much for sharing
SO appreciate this and You!! Thank you!!♥️
You are so welcome!
You are a gem Margaret Thank you❤
You are so welcome
I love family/ friend photos. Memories R the best!❤
I never liked having my photo taken, where one has to stand staring at the camera, as if facing a firing squad! The best snaps I have from the past were taken of me unposed and unaware. Mu wedding photos are fine, but of course the photographer was a professional, and made the photos very natural. Funny thing, one of my best photos taken some years back was taken in one of those quick photo places where you get a photo needed for I.D.
You are always excellent ❤❤❤
Thank you so much 😀
My problem is posing. I always looks like a stiff weird person. Ha ha.
I put a link in the description box under the video with a link to a woman who helped you with posing for pictures. Honestly, it makes such a big difference. Check it out.
Yes. I saw that and it’s good stuff. Will have to learn how to pose nicely! Ha ha.
I’ve never really liked having my picture made. Maybe when I was younger and a teenage it was okay. I think we don’t think about it then. My daughter is so photogenic and I’m Definitely not. ‼️I think my smile is awful for one thing. I am always doing the Mona Lisa smile. Love you Sandra ♥️🌼🌸🌺
Hi Vicky. Thank you so much for sharing. I can’t see you. Smile in the picture but I’m sure it’s OK. It’s amazing how we judge ourselves in it? I do the same with my nose :-) it’s something move forward, but you’re beautiful in my eyes, have a wonderful day.
@@sixtyandme Thank you. You are too Margaret ♥️
Cameras were the worst invention! I dread having my picture taken.
You’re definitely not alone in this feeling, but I hope that one day you can look at yourself and see some beauty that the camera doesn’t show
My friend is very camera shy. She has a weak eye muscle in one eye that occasionally makes her look cross-eyed. I'm not sure she ever learned to smile because when she does, she naturally frowns. She is really a sweet and gentle person though. How can I help her feel better about herself, especially when pictures are taken? Any ideas from anywhere on here appreciated. Thanks.
Great lighting is the secret to a super photo. At least, this is true for me. Bad lighting accentuates every line, bag, and wrinkle on my face. Great lighting does not require photo editing. My photos are natural and authentic due to proper lighting. I prefer photos that represent the best version of my natural self.
True!
When I was little say 3 or 4 I did not like having my picture taken!😂 Now I don’t mind at all. I think it’s due to the freedom now I.e. body piercings, tattoos, and colorful hair anything goes so I tend to not notice wrinkles anymore. I try to dress to camouflage my weight gain with clothes! I definitely fill in my eyebrows and dye them. With a few years I have left. I just try to be playful with my dress and look because you know we don’t live forever so I am now buying and putting outfits together like I never did before.!!💞🌷⭐️☀️🦋✌️💃
I think the freedom that you describe us so important when having your picture taken when you’re older. That you focus on the things that make you feel beautiful, not necessarily traditionally beautiful
GOD BLESS YOU BEAUTIFUL SUPERWARRIOR 💪🤺QUEEN👑 YOUR CARING HEART ,HUMBLE SPIRIT RADIATES A GLOWING ,CHARMING BEAUTIFUL QUEEN
IN YOU BRAVO 👏🏽 MUCH LOVE💕 FROM WASH, DC🙏👑💕💪🏻🤺👏🏻 ❤🎉👏🏻
I detest my pictures, when someone starts taking pictures, I leave. I have seen mud fences that looks better than me, in pictures and in life.
Hi Diane, well, I’ve seen some beautiful mud fence in my time :-) no seriously I hope that you understand another only person that feels this way by having their picture taken. I hope that you can judge yourself by the beautiful person you are inside. Thank you for sharing.
You are fine, gals. The photographer is lousy and unprofessional. Get another. Love from Canada 🇨🇦
I like to have photos taken. When we are no longer here it is all that our families have left.
I like the distance from the camera you are in this video. Your earlier ones years ago seemed closer to camera and not as nice as this one. Good job.
☮️🌎🌲
I do not like my picture taken.. Never have
Margaret do you have a link for the lady who you mentioned, take better pictures I couldn't find her thank you ❤ x
