I assure you I needed to watch this ! Some people just has it naturally. Even little girls comes at it naturally. Some of us has to work for it. Thank you for your expertise!!!

Your demeanor is one of a perfect woman. It has nothing to do with physical, it is just that you are lovely. We should all allow ourselves to be lovely. :) Thank you for all your lovely videos.
Dominique has to be a professional something… news anchor, model, speaker. She holds herself well and uses her hands and arms sparingly and appropriately. So many videos lately over-gesture so much! It’s so distracting with arms flailing constantly and makes me feel like the person is trying way too hard.
Dominique, thank you for caring enough to freely share amazing tutorials and guide us to our next level or higher level of confidence. Thanks for helping me & others to be bold and be blessed💞
Oh my gosh the timing of this video is pure magic. I just discovered you tonight and I am reigniting my modeling career at the age of 55. My daughter and I were talking about selfies and going through some of the shots I had taken of myself that you are now able to submit online without having a portfolio. You advice is golden... thank you thank you thank you. And you make it look so easy❤️
👋 i hope you're safe over there? I hope this year brings happiness prosperity love and peace ❤️🕊️ all over the world 🌎 🥰🥰😇🌍 I'm originally from Canada currently living in Key West Florida and you where are you from if i may ask?
You are as elegant as always Dominique! Great tips for great pictures. You always show such wonderful content. :) My 102 year old great grandmother who is no longer with us, always took pictures with one hand on her hip (relaxed hand) and her body slightly turned. She used to bring her face down and smile just enough. This woman died in 1974. She was something else. Thank you again for a wonderful video. Have a nice weekend.
I'm not photogenic and dislike myself in photos more as I've aged. This video was so helpful, thank you, thank you!! You can't take a bad picture! Hope you have a great weekend!!
I'm right there with you. I could think I look cute in a mirror sometimes, but snap a picture and I look horrible. These tips are great. We're all beautiful in our own way. 🌹😊
I hate being photographed and I hate it when people are really demanding about taking a photo--family members during holidays especially. I don't like being held captive to another person's hobby. Besides that, these days, you never know where a photo is going to end up. Facebook? Instagram? People used to keep photos in a photo album and they were private. Not anymore. So anyone should have the right of refusal to being photographed, especially with social media these days. Maybe someone has a creepy stalker and is trying to find them through friends of friends on FB and look, there they are, in a photo. It's just not cool for people to assume the right to photograph someone. I always ask, "Is this going to be on FB?" and I always stand at the far side of a photo so I can be cropped out.
I'm totally with all of you...Especially about looking at myself in the mirror and feeling like I look good and then the dreaded moment when someone wants to take a picture!! I look at it at hate the way I look. The camera is NOT my friend!
I love the idea of watching out for others and making sure everyone looks great in at least one shot. It reminds me of the time when all of us coworkers were lined up like soldiers, we all pivoted to the side, then one of my colleagues pushed me forward while she hid half her body behind me, whispering in my ear that she needed to look smaller. Well in the process she made me look the biggest of everyone, I wound up closest to the camera! Don't be the person that makes others look bad to make yourself look better!
So thankful I found your channel! I’m 52 this year, suffered a TBI a couple of months ago so changes outside of my control have happened. Your videos are so encouraging and what I’ve needed for these changes! One being a massive hair change. Lost hair from the accident and as a woman who has had long naturally curly hair all my life I now have the courage of cutting it all off. You’re such a blessing so again, thank you! God bless you tenfold!
I love that your a woman wanting to share with other women how to look your best. There’s nothing pretentious about you, you’re very down to earth and loving and that comes across when you talk. I learned from this video is that you can take a photo using the bottom volume controle. And I learned a trick about tipping the head down because that has been an issue in some of my pictures. Last, I love how are you talk about the candid pictures and the natural look that is so much nicer than the staged photo’s. Thank you for sharing your secrets/tips, you are amazing!
I just love you…you’re incredibly giving and thoughtful. It’s fantastic how you help lift up other women and share your expertise with all of us. A giant thank you girl from this desert rose❤️

Thank you, Dominique, for sharing this photo poses tips to us. Nobody really likes to be caught on a camera looking not so nice because it would be there like a monument for friends and family to see forever. Taking pictures can be a challenge especially if the one taking the photo is not exactly knowledgeable about taking the best angle of yourself, so those tips on angles, poses and spaces in your body really helps a lot.
Dominique is so clear in her instructions. You are so beautiful. Oh the word you are looking for isn't "parallel", it's "perpendicular". I love the phrase "the money shot" ... everyone looking good, yay, win win all around.

I absolutely appreciated your take on photo shots, angles, posing in a close manner with family and friends. How to find your best side. You made it all look fun. Thank you. You are very inspiring to me. I watch you all the time. I have my husband watching along with me. It’s great!!
I hate having my picture taken & even more, I hate taking selfies. I'm clueless about angles etc. You're video is quite helpful & inspiring. It's a couple of months from holidays 2019, so all of your information applies to the here & not so far from now. You also have such a kind, warm way about you while providing helpful, positive information that I'm sure most of us could use. Thank you!

As a pro photog, Dom is offering great advice. When I’m shooting a portrait I always shoot directly at or slightly below eye level. The challenge with selfies is the camera is close with a wide angle lens. This automatically introduces distortion around the outside. Sometimes I’ll see girls shoot from above and it make the forehead too elongated. I almost always shoot toward the part. Also a fun trick, shoot with a bright light behind you for a backlit look. You get that glow behind you and through your hair, very flattering.
Another thing that makes for amazing group shots, group up people in groups of two or theee. Everyone shouldn’t be on a straight line. Those mini groups together make for a more dynamic and interesting large group photo. #hdco

Wow...so many tricks that I didn't know about! I hate having my picture taken because I'm just not photogenic but I will definitely start using these tricks and tips when it's time for those holiday photos! Thank you Dominique...I love you!!!
jeanette thoretz ... the joy is, she doesn’t! Over years Dominique has taken us through (amongst other many various topics) sharing her makeup tutorials in the bathroom, barefaced, not a ‘pro’ in sight other than herself with many years of experience practising techniques + honing her skills. She shows the products used, unsponsored, bought by herself, which are most often high-street buys and generally accessible. This lady is one of the most consistently authentic RUclipsrs here, with a hugely grateful following for the very reason that Dominique DOESN’T pretend to be perfect, but with integrity inspires a realistic approach to finding out what’s possible in sharing real tips and encouragement in life scenarios that we can relate to as a majority. But she does... in the first photo with one foot up on a step! Can't imagine anyone liking it.I think there are no rules that apply to everyone, and trying to teach the rules... well.... I don't think so.

My face (especially my smile) is asymmetrical, so my pics always make me cringe unless I get *exactly* the right angle. I've been practicing some of these tips the last few days with my camera, and they really do help some. Thank you, Dominique!
Thank you so much for all of your helpful hints as I struggle with photographs and trying to get a flattering, natural looking shot! Hope I can put it all into practice!

Dominique gets down to the job in hand. Her tips are by far the best. And her explanations are to the point easy to follow and the most informative of many many video tutorials I’ve viewed . Dominique gets 10 out of 10 from me for her simplicity and effective methods in all her demonstrations. Dominique is also a gorgeous lady!
Hi Dominique, this is great! I really needed the selfie tutorial because I almost never like my selfies. I was telling another woman that once and she said that she had the same issue. In fact, she said that she calls her selfies, somebody-elfies! I'm definitely going to try your tips!
I LOVE LOVE LOVE this hair style and color on you. It’s incredible. I love the way you are not afraid to change your hair and styles because of your confidence. Thank you!
Wow! I'm blown away! The bottom of the volume button takes a pic in selfie mode! How long has this been a thing? That makes it so much easier! Fantabulous video- Thank you!

I loved your tip about using the bottom volume button for selfies! I never knew that!!! It will make it much easier to practice taking selfies and learning my best angles. Really enjoyed this video, thanks so much for the concise way you presented it.
Your delay in posting(I know you were doing special coverage 💕) was meant to be and these photo tips are spot on because IT'S MY 50TH!!!!!🎂🥂🍾🎉🎁🎈Thank you!
Could you do a tutorial on how to choose flattering jeans? There are so many different types of jeans and its so overwhelming to narrow down the types that are flattering. So happy to have found your channel, so helpful!
Thank you! I'm so sick of everyone doing the "hand on hip" pose. It's so pretentious and overdone. Your tips are spot-on for beautiful, more natural photos.
Thank you so much for sharing such helpful & honest advice! I love it when women genuinely want to help each other look and feel their best without jealousy or deceit! Wonderful tips just in time for holiday pictures with friends and family this week!
I LOVE your hair in this video Dominique!..Dark hair looks beyond stunning on you!..As with myself, I feel that darker hair actually makes me look younger!..I am a 49 yrs old and I have only recently realized that darker hair with subtle honey low lights looks better on me and helps me look younger!..At 49 I’ll take it!..lol

I have stayed away from cameras for almost 60 years. The thought of taking selfies nauseates me because I find them contrived and maybe a little vain. Having said that, this explanation might make me give it a go. BTW, you are a gorgeous woman with a great spirit. Thank you for your expertise and sharing.
Great tips. My friends & nieces always laugh at my good picture tip. I turn away & ask picture taker to call my name & I turn to my good side and it’s a fun turn around & candid shot. Definitely need several pictures 🌸
I didn't know I could use the volume buttons on the side of my phone to take a selfie. I know I'm not the only one because I've seen other people struggle to position their fingers so they can take a picture. Thank you for sharing a tip that you thought everyone already knew!
I appreciate your honesty Rhonda, 'tis true love, you're not the only one! I recently took my first few selfies at 55. As I'm doing it i"m thinking, wth? It was all awkward and I wasn't sure where to put my thumb! LoL. it looks so much easier when other people do it! Then I watched the videoabove and thought, duh! I'm55, in the middle of menopause, my cognitive thinking abilities have seemingly been decimated SO I have an excuse! Cheers.

Greetings from London Dominique. Your tutorial videos truly are an inspiration. What is especially impressive and heartwarming is the enthusiasm and precision with which you approach all that you do. I'm learning so much, and it's a joy and privilege that you share this with us. All blessings xx PS Just loving the new hair colour for Autumn.
Thank you Dominique for these tips 💖! I didn't know of the volume button. One thing I do is to also play with the zoom feature for certain angles of selfies.
Invaluable information. At the beginning of this as you rattled off all the reasons, I was laughing, all of the above for me. My sister and I are both singers and have been our whole lives. She always knew how to photograph well and used all the things you just stated effortlessly. I, on the other hand just couldn't seem to get a good picture and just chalked it up to not being photogenic. Some photographers have gotten great pictures of me, but not many. So thank you very much for this. I'm going to practice in the mirror!
This was super helpful, thank you. I am a photographic artist and, out of sheer convenience, I pose for all my own artworks (often anonymously). I've watched some online classes, but I am not a model and posing is still one of my biggest challenges. I am looking forward to experimenting!
Dominique, you always inspire me with your positive attitude, and I always learn so much from your videos! I almost always dislike my photos, so I’m really looking forward to trying out your techniques. On a side note, your makeup is so beautiful, and I would love to use those colors. Do you have videos showing you doing this particular look? Thank you so much! Happy Sunday!
Oh my you are such a wonderful lady. I have upped my viewing of your videos because i am about to turn 57 and I dont recognise my changing face. Thank you for all your wonderful tips, they are all gold! God bless 🤗
Thank you so much Dominique. thank you for taking time out to do these videos. I never really wore makeup because I never knew how to apply it correctly. your videos have helped me so much. I think I look ten years younger with makeup on. I am 62. I love all your videos they are so Easy for me to follow.
Oh Dominique, this is one of my very favorite hair styles/cut of yours. What is this called exactly? I’m ready to cut about 6-7 inches off and this is what I want. Thank you for all you offer and add to my life just by simply being YOU!

Dominique, great tips, as always. Regarding the selfies, you mentioned that the side bottom button will take photos, but that is only on the iPhone. On an Android, it is the middle button (volume down button) that will also take photos. Thanks again.
Thank you, thank you and thank you!! I've needed these tips forever! You are so relatable to you and I feel like you're doing some of your videos specifically for me ! Always enjoy watching and learning from your suggestions . So glad I discovered your down to earth channel! Happy New Year Dominique!!🥳🥂
Dominique, in my opinion from watching her videos, is a class act. Not phony.
I hope you say the same positive things to yourself instead of only give compliments to people online that you will never meet.

Wow! I'm blown away! The bottom of the volume button takes a pic in selfie mode! How long has this been a thing? That makes it so much easier! Fantabulous video- Thank you!
Hi Nancy, it works with both of the volume buttons 😊
I've been behind the times!!!
I had no idea either! What a revelation!! Loved these tips, and discovering that that bottom button took pictures was huge LOL
Nancy Anne - so funny because I discovered the same thing just yesterday. Who knew?!?
It looks like she has an iPhone does this work the same on an Android phone?
First, d makeover (after d makeup tips). Now d best hints to flaunt in pics, thanks a million. U’r such a good influence indeed.
One more photographer’s secret: when placing hand in pocket, leave thumb on the outside. It creates a more flattering look. Fun video!

Thanks so much for the tip! Did not know that. Be blessed!

What if you dislike your thumbs? 😂
Gonna try it!
Love the length and color of your hair 😍

I loved your tip about using the bottom volume button for selfies! I never knew that!!! It will make it much easier to practice taking selfies and learning my best angles. Really enjoyed this video, thanks so much for the concise way you presented it.
When I grow up, I want to be as lovely as you
You are confident, graceful and glamorous, beautiful and articulate. Love your style.
Your delay in posting(I know you were doing special coverage 💕) was meant to be and these photo tips are spot on because IT'S MY 50TH!!!!!🎂🥂🍾🎉🎁🎈Thank you!
Aww thank you, Dominique! The term, "Half Century" has new meaning.. hahaha! But I certainly don't feel it... 😉
Happy birthday!
I have learned so much from you and it's so special the way you want to help all your "sisters" out here - how gracious and unselfish! Love you!
As a long time lanscape photographer getting into portraits and wedding potography, these tips are priceless to me .. thank you so much
Could you do a tutorial on how to choose flattering jeans? There are so many different types of jeans and its so overwhelming to narrow down the types that are flattering. So happy to have found your channel, so helpful!
Thank you! I'm so sick of everyone doing the "hand on hip" pose. It's so pretentious and overdone. Your tips are spot-on for beautiful, more natural photos.
The teacup pose.
@@beannamated Here is my handle, and here is my spout. lol
I have a plus size clothing line and I am just done with thevhand on the hip
Agree! Also when ladies rest their hand on the boyfriend/husband’s stomach, what’s with that?!?!
@@donna1018
LOL I haven't noticed that. I'll be looking now 🤣
Dominique, I don't think it is possible for you to ever take a bad photo! You Look Flawless!!!!
You’re gorgeous 🥰I don’t think you could ever have a bad photo so stunning
A lot of the selfies I see posted on Facebook are not flattering, at all. They need to see and hopefully learn from your video. Thank you, Dominique.
Thank you so much for sharing such helpful & honest advice! I love it when women genuinely want to help each other look and feel their best without jealousy or deceit! Wonderful tips just in time for holiday pictures with friends and family this week!
Couldn't have said it any better 👏!

She is just so lovely, beautiful, smart.
Thx for your precious advices. Nearly 51 yrs old you are my inspiration. God bless you
I didn't know I could use the volume buttons on the side of my phone to take a selfie.
Cheers.
I had no idea either
I didn't know either. So much easier. No wonder it looks so easy when everyone else does it. 🤣
Um . . . me EITHER!
Yes!! This is a revelation ❤️
I have been watching and learning from Dominique for years. She literally is THE CLASSIEST woman on the internet.
👋 i hope you're safe over there? I hope this year brings happiness prosperity love and peace ❤️🕊️ all over the world 🌎 🥰🥰😇

Great info ! I have always hated pictures of myself so I am excited to try your suggestions ! Thank you Dominique ! Love you and your videos !
Such good advice. Our favorite photo is a candid caught by a student catching my personality in conversation.
Hey, Dominique, please do a video on the makeup you used. Love the lip color! 💕👏🏼💕👏🏼
Margie Cieslinski Me, too. Dying to know what lipstick this is!
Yes same here, what lipstick is that and color pls
Please share lipstick color
Me too! Love the lipstick color. Please share info.
Yes! Lipstick brand and color PLEASE :)
Dominique, you are gorgeous to begin with and would look good dressed in a paper bag. Your natural beauty just glows.
You could never take a bad photo. You are so pretty!
This is fabulous!! I practiced most of the techniques using my laptop camera and got some fantastic shots.
Thank you for sharing this!
Thank you Dominique for these tips 💖! I didn't know of the volume button. One thing I do is to also play with the zoom feature for certain angles of selfies.
I am sure you read this frequently, but it is SOOO heartwarming to see how much you want to help us! Happy Holidays!
That's sweet of you to say, Pamela. I enjoy sharing :)
Dominique, what a great video! You're such a classy lady who knows many things to help us!! Love you!
You deserve a TALK SHOW in NYC! 👏👍
LOOOOOVE YOU!🥰
This was super helpful, thank you. I am a photographic artist and, out of sheer convenience, I pose for all my own artworks (often anonymously). I've watched some online classes, but I am not a model and posing is still one of my biggest challenges. I am looking forward to experimenting!
You are such a wonderful woman in all you share-caring, down to earth, someone I would gladly invite to Afternoon Tea! Blessings, @Dominique Sachse!
Thanks for explaining the side button for pics - I did not know that. All my chest wrinkles have gone - magic 😍
What a wonderful communicator, I could listen to her all day. Amazing info, thank you so much Dominique.
God bless 🤗
I LOVE how you addressed posture first thing! How you hold yourself and walk does somethings that nothing else can. It speaks volumes!

I'd love to see a makeup tutorial for your look in this video - great winter look (and helpful video, too, btw!)
