Yayyyyy❤️Thank you Justin❤️Husband and I are from Indiana I'm so very happy we found your web sight and we appreciate all you do. I picked a lot of the berry pods and soaked them in two different bowls for over an hour. Once I strained them into one large picture the color was beautiful. The taste was very tart like lemonade. It made a half of a large picture and I topped it off with more water and added raw sugar. The taste was amazing as well as the color of the sumac-ade.☺️May God bless you and your family always.🙏🤗😇

Good morning Justin, good video, I find it best to use entire cone but I cut them down , we have staghorn variety, so they are 4-10 in long I use 5 cones or more per gallon, cutting stem off cone at base . I've tried it with cold water dint like I use hot tapwater but not to hot , about as hot as if it were in direct sun all day key. Your tea might be weak. I like mine strong that's how I was taught by gramma, add sugar to taste , honey. Or other flavors like raspberry ,Cherry. You'll figure it out. Also I will let stag brew 2-3 days with clean hands squeeze the cones to get all the goods . Nope you needs more berrys.

Justin I just collected the golden rod here in NE oklahoma. Tinctured the flowers with my granddaughter. Teaching her about natural medicine. Dried the leaves for tea. Collecting sumac next few days for spice. Also read where you can make a syrup with sumac for your bees and it helps protect them from mites. Not sure about that statement but I have 14 hives of bees and they are healthy and thriving. I do like the sumac lemonade. Thank you for this video.

I have so much of the sumac by me that it makes sense for me to try it.

Yes I decided it needed more. I normally over do things but im wanting to make more seasoning to cook with out of these berries i have so I guess thats why i went sparingly

I used to make sumac lemonade for the kids when they were younger, We would walk the edges of the fields and pick the heads off the stems and bring them home to soak for lemonade. We would make it several times during the summer. My dad also told me that drinking the lemonade was an old-timey remedy for preventing the kids from wetting the bed.

      It’s not a chem trail. It’s a condensation trail.

    • @videodred

@@120weapons going to have to call Bologne Sandwich on that. Condensation trails disperse more quickly and therefore are shorter. This is a chemtrail, most likely blocking rainfall in the area causing drought and which lead to wildfires...

How long it lingers has to do with the temperature at that altitude. It is from difference in the temperature of the exhaust and the air its mixing with. Im sure there are some chemicals in it but no difference that car exhaust in cold weather . Same exact thing

I never tried sumac, I’ve foraged a bunch of rabbit tobacco, and I’ve been using golden rod lately, I drew up my own book like a journal for alot of plants I use, I forage abunch but don’t have no books lol, I just looked up information online for what’s In my area, ya when making tea or whatever it’s all trial and error, i just think what did they do back then? It’s not like they had books all the time, That’s interesting about rabbit tobacco and rattlesnakes, there’s rattlesnakes in my hills, I’ll keep that in mind in a emergency lol

Justin, take a look at an old video on Billy Joe Denny's Channel called Sweet Sumac Tea and he explains the process well. I have followed his instructions and the tea does have a sweet, not sour taste.

Hey Justin! Looks like Sumac Teat would be a good thirst quencher on a hot day! I wonder if some could be put in ice cube trays and frozen... that way, when they melt they will cool off the drink and not dilute it!

    Howdy:
Is there a Sumac bush that you CAN'T use the berries from? Up here in PA. we have Sumac but some of it is poisonous I'm told. I know every Summer folks say they get Poison Sumac, or is that just an old wives tale?
    Thanks.
    God bless:
