    We work on ANYTHING with an ENGINE using mostly BUDGET TOOLS.
    What are we working on?
    Jeep Liberty 2.8L starter replacement.
    What are we using to complete the work?
    Simple hand tools!
    Do we have any concerns about today's work?
    We hope this warrantied starter last longer than the last one.
    Why did we decide to do this?
    The Jeep almost left us stranded because of the bad starter. I had to hit it with a hammer to get it spinning over again.
    What's your favorite thing about this work?
    We hope this video helps encourage you to start or continue working on whatever project you've got sitting around. We hope you have a great day.
    We appreciate our subscribers and viewers. A BIG THANKS to each of you. Remember, this is something YOU CAN DO so REACH OUT with QUESTIONS and don't be afraid of Starting-Continuing-Finishing the work your project needs.

    We no longer have this option. Maybe in the future!
    Any additional thoughts?
    We complete work in a small 2 stall garage with limited space. You can do anything you would like to do, no matter the space you have, just plan accordingly and adjust your plans to the size of your workspace. We Believe In YOU!
    What's coming to the shop in the future?
    Jeep struts & springs in the front.
    Are you able to do lots of work in a limited space?
    Yes, without question. The biggest issues we face in our 2stallgarage are organization. Keeping the workspace organized and both stalls clear of clutter really helps with motivation, which then helps with productivity. Basically, if I see a clean workspace, I'm much more ready to dive into a project or even just scheduled maintenance.

    Nice video. Btw the dot that goes on and turns off on the bottom of the dash is the immobilizer signal. Goes out when key is accepted.
    The glow plug light only comes on in really cold temps and usually briefly

    thanks for the video , very helpfull, but with my fat hand I could not get to that third hidden bolt, I think I will hit it from above with long ratchet extension and see how it goes

    Looks like a pretty straightforward job. Wish they were always that easy. On that one wire that just slides on id suggest some of that dialectic grease on it. Every one iv ever had like that corrodes over time n doest allow for good contact n itll work that starter harder n eventually burn it or the cylinoid out. After the last 2 weeks on and off in the junkyard i need clean n organize my tools again. Gotta get my toolbox on your level

      Good call with the grease. I’ll plan to do that when I’m doing transmission maintenance soon. It’s not corroded at the moment because if the past valve cover gasket leaks. 😁

      @2StallGarage oh them wives! maybe you could just return the hammer and keep the old stater under the seat, and if you have a problem, wack it with the old starter. I have ideas for days.

    I think my 06 Liberty CRD starter just went Kaput today. 93k on the original starter isn't bad. Thanks for makng this video.

    Coming from the Toyota Land Cruiser world, is there any chance that it could be rebuilt? It's the solenoid contacts that wear out not the entire starter. I've done several contacts replacement on my (older) Cruisers. The newer ones are a complete nightmare. Great way of explaining how & what you are doing.

    • @2StallGarage
      @2StallGarage  2 месяца назад

      Absolutely. If it were me, I would find a Toyota Land Cruiser group on Facebook and ask what the best route for rebuilding one of these is... (Someone who uses OEM quality parts) for rebuilding. They may even have a great tutorial for you to do yourself if you've done the older starters. Hope this helps at least a little.

    My starter was still working but the bearing sounded like it was on its way out! That 3rd bolt was a pita too loose to ratchet and couldn’t turn with my fingers, had to wrench it1/4 way out before I could turn with my fingers

    I had a 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee with 3 liter diesel. Wanted to remove EGR but would not be able to sell it. EPA come after me

      That stinks. Don’t see many of the 3.0 diesels around. I’ve seen just 1 in person.

    I had to trade in that 2016 WK2 Jeep. Factory recall for crank sensor failure. It’s at back of crank shaft. 🤬 Also recall on EGR cooler. Coolant could enter intake and cause engine fire🤬. My wife and I are retired and live in SE Texas. Couldn’t image crank sensor failure on freeway when it’s over 100 degrees

    • @2StallGarage
      @2StallGarage  11 месяцев назад +1

      Yes, that wouldn’t be cool, no pun intended. I heard they were somewhat problematic engines. The 2.8 in this one isn’t a favorite of local mechanics, but it’s enjoyable to the owners who know the ins and outs of it.
      Happy Friday to you guys.
