I like the rivalry between Grey and Gai. Even though they are arch-enemies to each other (like Radiguet and Ryu), they both had respect to each other (unlike Radiguet and Ryu, who completely hate each other).
Yeah. I think the rivalry between Gai and Grey was somehow born due to Maria though. There were a couple times when Maria would be the main villain of the episode, she would devise an evil plan, Gai would attack her, and Grey would come to her defense.
you know, this might still be the best moment of Sentai ever. even after all the sentai coming together to fight, this just has so much going for it, not just in the fight but in the significance of everything.
Just finished Jetman yesterday. This was the saddest death to me. I mean sure they implied Gai was dying but it was sort of juxtaposed with a wedding basically saying 'life will go on.' While Grey dies thinking of the one person he could have possibly loved and she somewhat returned it...while dying in junk. Mind you this was a guy that attacked people.
I always go with the character who wears the black costume and Gai imo played the best black character of all sentai. I'm 27 sitting on my office desk in front of the computer next to the window with a view of tall buildings and family houses and still searching for videos like these on youtube which makes me feel great that I was able to watch these kind of shows when I was a kid. Treasure.
Yes Gai is the best, in Kyoryuger I dunno if they are trying to make Ian like a Gai type but he's annoyimg and trying hard. Gai is the best, and can have all the woman his, like he told Luka in Gokaiger 😅.
yeah, the characters are more likeable, you actually see them grow, they're not some magical warriors who knew how to fight from the start, they didn't choose anything, also gai's growth...in his first fight he kicked an enemy in the balls,it's really amazing to see him fight with pride and honor like a true samurai
Man, I was always more of a Kamen Rider kid but Jetman, I loved as much as Kamen Rider Black. Gai and Grey were just too damned cool. The set up for the characters in this was incredible! It really didn't underestimate kids, love triangles within the team, with the enemy, the enemy having their own love triangles... Gai showing respect and compassion for Grey... Grey's death, Gai's death. I wonder if sentai shows will get this serious again.
About Gai and Grey: They both are pretty laxed and laid back guys if you ask me. I think they both don't give a * about Jetman or Vyram. Gai fights because he was captivated by his friends/Kaori, and Grey because Maria captivated him. So it makes sense.
true that, this is one of the best moments in sentai,I dunno, I still think that zyuranger's geki vs burai had more at stake and therefore, was more exciting this one was mostly about honor and moral code, though awesome, missed the personal value zyuranger had
Granted i do see your point and it is a very good one, but unfortunately I must disagree, but at the same time it's still my opinion not the be all, end all of opinions. I guess I did infer that in my original statement. I do also like that fight though and that has to be my close second favourite moment of sentai. True, if I were going to go at the moment of viewing, it probably would be my favourite but in retrospective, with everything analyzed, this has to be my favourite.
I always felt that Gai's rivalry with Grey felt kinda forced. Like the writers thought that since Gai and Grey are both drinkers and gamblers they should be enemies
They do have their differences, one likes classical and Gai seems to like jazz. Grey is cultured and Gai is rough. Still I think it really got played up in the gambling episode. It got considerably more personal there. I think they had respect for the other.
I'm sorry to say, but Gai and Grey's rivalry has to be the most forced rivalry i've seen. Why are they rivals? "Because Gai drinks, gambles and likes music and Grey also drinks, gambles and likes music, but one is a good guy and the other is a bad guy, so they HAVE to be enemies. Forget about Grey's rivalry with Ryu because they're in love with the same woman, Grey has a better rivalry with Gai".....why is Jetman so great again?
***** Yeah u know Power Rangers Dino Thunder character. Smitty was in testing an experiment when it all went wrong. Mesagog found him and fixed him up so he can get revenge on Tommy Oliver.
Yeah, the effect of the Birdonic Waves that empowered the Jetman team wore off a year after the last battle against Radiguet. That's why Gai couldn't survive the mugger's stab, because at that moment Gai was just a normal human.
The two coolest characters of the show, having a fittingly cool and moving final showdown. This fight is so unforgettable.
Gai is such a classy motherfucker. He lights his fallen opponent's cigarette as a sign of respect right before his final moments.
The Japanese create the best villains.....a robot with an appreciation for the arts, smoking and fine piano music.....#Genius
The most human of the four baddies too.
Will he get robot cancer?
@@There_Is_No_War_In_Ba_Sing_Se No, he's a robot. He gets to look badass and suffer no downsides... Except being impaled by a sword.

@@Leadblast And now… Maria is gone. So their rivalry is all that Grey had left.
3:47 Grey giving Gai a last request: lighting his last cigar for his last minutes of life
you know, this might still be the best moment of Sentai ever. even after all the sentai coming together to fight, this just has so much going for it, not just in the fight but in the significance of everything.
I find it interesting that despite being not a human, he doesn’t explode. He deactivated, and that’s it.

If you watch gokaiger, there's an episode that confirms that he died at the end of jetman
Every time I'm reminded of Grey and Gai, my heart aches.
WATASHI WA SENSHI

A robot missing an arm smoking a cigarette. How deep.

Does the creator reply?

I am a warrior, and the battle is everything.
Simplesmente os dois melhores personagens dessa temporada.
This was the pay off for sitting through the whole Jetman Series... Just to see Black Condor and Grey duke it out... man so sick this series is.
Samurai spirit..
Black Condor, best senshi/ranger ever...just bought his SH Figuarts! :)
classiest fucking fight i ever seen in a tokusatsu
We would see a similar moment between Yuuji and one of the robots in Ohranger 4 years later...
Bara Revenger?
First time in the sentai where one of the heroes's helmet got broken
Está sí que fue una serie espectacular!
This is from the same guy who will eventually write, Faiz, Kiva, and Donbrothers.
No kidding
The irony of it all is that gai won his toughest battle but he got killed by a thief in the final episode
Ep. 39 is also good where Gai and Grey play roulette.
Grabeng laban na ito. Nakaka-miss. :)

2:33 True or False: that was the first time Grey ever wielded a blade in battle.
What’s the song that’s playing at the end?

Gai Yuki: myself
Gery: Peppa pig
I love this video 🤩🥰
And there's also a manga continuation where he died, i think
Yep, and green eagle replaces him
BLACK CONDOR VS GREY
Yes
thanks, whenever I looked for this scene,I couldn't find it,then it came to me: eh,fuck it,I'll upload it myself XD
the scene in 1:18 where the birds are flying, i've seen that clip numerous times on power rangers!....
When?
Great Fight Black Condor rocks

(2:01) Precursor to (Bruce) Kalish Explosion? lol
Could be.

Inoue likes doing that kind of thing. Rivalries for the sake of rivalries.
muito bom
...Is it Gray or Grey?

two words: guilty pleasure
That's the one negative thing about Jetman I can think of. Boukenger's Yaiba vs. BoukenBlack rivalry is basically Grey vs. Black Condor done right.
Grey reminds me of Zeltrax.
cameronjr8 kinda XD
***** Yeah u know Power Rangers Dino Thunder character. Smitty was in testing an experiment when it all went wrong. Mesagog found him and fixed him up so he can get revenge on Tommy Oliver.
Grey reminds me too much to gash from liveman
Same voice actor. Same penchant for long-range weapons. And both lose an arm shortly before they expire.
