I love your video. Snorkeling Is my favorite thing to do and just seeing this video oh my! I have to go there, plus what about that blue water wow. The green, the water, the Nature. Can’t wait to go there. Thanks for the video.. great music selection by the way 😃
This older vid popped up for me. Sapphire beach is my favorite on St. Thomas. Great shore snorkeling, but also great hangout beach. I've seen turtles and an eagle ray there! I adore St. Thomas, and really the Caribbean in general. I'm not built for it (spontaneously combust in the sun lol) but I do it anyway! If you love beaches and snorkeling, check out Roatan Honduras. World class diving/snorkeling and plenty of places to get away from the cruise crowd. Edited: OMG got further in and saw you spotted an eagle ray too! They are just breathtaking aren't they? I followed the one we saw as far as I could, totally freaking out my adult son who was out with me because we were WAY out there lol I don't get freaked out about that. With the density of the ocean and we women's "floaties" (IYKYK!) all you have to do is float a minute if you get tired. But oh, that eagle was the highlight of my trip too that time! Underwater flying.
Hahaha!! So glad this video randomly popped up and it took you back. Sapphire Beach was such a cool place to hangout and we hope we can go back someday. We’ll also have to check out Roatan. One of our favorite things to do is snorkel. It’s just so magical and we absolutely love getting a glimpse into the ocean life. Eagle Rays are always a favorite! Hahaha! Too funny about the floaties (I, Emily, can relate 🤣). Thanks for watching and sharing. We appreciate you!
My folks usually come and stay 2 nights at the frederiksted inn in stcroix usvi … they just hop on a plane on Friday from the states and play for 2 days in frederiksted.. the frederiksted inn is right on the street next to the Fred hotel and pretty restaurants a grocery store and rainbow beach , 4 dive shops , the frederiksted pier , the frederiksted inn is about $150 and well worth it because you are right next to everything( walking distance)and I mean everything!!! Beach and the whole shebang!.. it’s even got 2 very nice grocery store nearby, about one minute away… easy peasy … and top of it all .. no passport needed just a negative pcr test .. 3 tshirts and short pants in a nap sack and sunglasses is their luggage lol
Thank you for sharing all that great information! We loved Fredericksted and will definitely stay there next time we visit. Hopefully soon! We’ll also have to check out that hotel. Cheers!
I saw a spotted eagle ray while walking on the frederiksted pier… what a majestic sight… he was showing off swimming laps up and down the side of the pier…his tail was so long holy cow!( the tail was about 20 feet long… the tail grows very long sometimes.. some are short because they break off … I guess it sbecause it in open sea its tail just kept growing)
Nice! You are going to have a fabulous time! When we did the boat snorkel tour, the boat crew were acting as lifeguards. Other than that, no, we did not see any lifeguards.
Today St. Croix is U.S. territory with the main industries being tourism, agriculture and oil refinery. One of the most renowned attractions in the U.S.V.I.
The beach was very calm. We didn’t have any issues with riptides, but it is always important to do your research as conditions can quickly change. Safe travels!
We’ve checked and unfortunately the owners no longer Air BnB this unit. Search for Sugar Beach and you will find other condos that are available. Hope that helps!
@@WillieCarpenter17 This was at Sugar Beach. Unfortunately, we check a couple of months ago and it’s no longer available to rent. There are still other options in the same area though! Enjoy!
Thanks for watching and the question! We rented our gear from Adventures in Diving STX. There are a few different dive shops you can rent from, but this one was great because we could rent for the whole week, that way we always had our gear on us. They are located in Fredericksted and walking distance from the pier -- which was one of our favorite places to snorkel the whole trip! We picked up our gear and walked right to the pier and got it on the left side. It was awesome!
We stayed at Sugar Beach, close to Christiansted. Honestly, would probably stay closer to Fredericksted next time. There was more to do there and Rainbow Beach, which is super close, is an incredible beach with good snorkeling and a restaurant right on the water. It’s also close to Sandy Point, which is amazing! On St. Thomas, we stayed at Sapphire Beach, it was beautiful, but would have rather had the extra days on St. Croix. Hope that helps!
Hey, thanks for your question! We booked it through VRBO and the average is $250/night, but it really depends on when you want to go. The owner’s name is Dean and he was great. Here is the link to the listing for the exact condo we stayed in: t.vrbo.io/t2NciHvSgyb Hope that helps!
We stayed at Sugar Beach outside of Christiansted. We’ve checked VRBO and the condo we rented is no longer available for rent. There are lots of other options though if you search for Sugar Beach. Hope that helps!
@@flatheadjane The condo we stayed at was $2300 for 6 nights. That can vary though depending on the actual condo you rent at Sugar Beach (the units are independently owned) and the time of year you go.
Thanks for watching and commenting! We’ve never rented a yacht so we’re probably not the best to answer that question. If we do rent a yacht one day, we’ll let you know!
Hey, thanks for watching. The amount depends on so many things like where you’re flying from, what airline, if you get a rental car, where you stay, where you eat, and what activities you do. Per person, you could probably do it as low as $4,000 and as high as $8,000. Hope that helps.
