    The best part was how you described the noises. That was very helpful. My truck has the same noises.

    Great vidro, my bro !
    This helped. Just replaced power steering pump ($410 oem) bummer. Dropped nuts and sockets fumbling.
    Had to pull skid shield to retrieve them. Chilled on my back and found wiggly idler. Needed coaching. Thanks. I owe you a twelver.

    Thank you! Simple job, but I really appreciate you laying out all the details so I can get in there like I've already done it. Also today 6/16/2020 the Duralast Idler Pulley 231038 $26 had the same design as the stock one and a branded 6301 2RS bearing in it.

  • @camo8768
    @camo8768 4 года назад +7

    For reference, it's much easier and longer lasting to buy a quality Japanese 63012RS bearing, and press remove and install the new bearing into your old pulley. Then you can use the original dust shield for extra protection against debris.

    Thanks bro, i got my old pulley off, and when the nut came off, every little piece of hardware fell off, too. So i didn't know the position of the piece closest to the bracket. First try, i put it in backwards and nearly melted the belt!
    Also, my new pulley's packaging said nothing about the dust cover piece being optional. So thanks buddy!

    so when im in only drive and reverse I hear like a grinding/rubbing noise which is pretty load. and I can feel the slight vibration under my feet by my pedals. while in park or neutral it does not seem to do it... Does that sound like a idler pulley?

    • @DartBProductions

    My 2010 volkswagen tiguan has a foamy plastic dust cover but because of heat and alittle oil, it's like sticking out and looks like tearing apart. It's the pulley on the downside of my alternator. Do I really need it or should I just rip it off? The other pulleys didn't have it besides the one up top of side alternator.
