Ich versteh das Argument nicht. Der Merc hatte sehr wohl ABS durfte es nur nicht einsetzen, wie heute auch. Bis auf das sequentielle Getriebe ist doch alles gleich. Wenn ich's mir aussuchen könnte würde ich auch die alten DTM Autos bevorzugen. Aber die neuen Autos sind durch die viele Elektronik doch nicht einfacher zu bedienen. Ich denke, wenn man die Elektronik und so von Hand bedienen muss dann ist das Auto schwerer am Limit zu bewegen als so ein altes DTM Auto.

Ich meinte das heutige Autos durch die ganzen Schalter und Drehregler wahrscheinlich schwieriger am Limit zu bewegen sind als die damaligen DTM-Autos, weil ich vor jeder Kurve schauen muss, ob die Bremsbalance, das Differential etc. eingestellt ist und sich erst dann auf die Kurve konzentrieren kann. Wenn die heutigen Autos dann auch noch schneller sind, mehr Komplikation durch Aerodynamik, und man damals wie heute keine elektronischen Fahrhilfen benutzen darf, dann sind die heutigen Autos wahrscheinlich schwerer zu fahren.

I lived in Germany during this Golden Age of DTM, and went to races. Truly Epic. All manual transmissions, no one drove automatics because everyone had expert driving skill.

I have no comparison to BMW manual in an tuned 135i. I drove my brother's with 8gear automatic to work an the display said 6,8 liters for 100km on that day. But my prevence is a manual.

My first car was a 190e, 1.8. After that I had 2 2liter versions and a 2.6 version. All with manual gear and as sportline versions. I also had a e36 coupe 2 Liter, Manuel gear. Damn those were all banger cars. I miss the time I had with them!
Even today they are great cars that bring joy of driving 👌🏻 I have 3x 2.0 W124 and it's fun to drive them like I stole them. And the best thing is that those cars where built to last, never break down 👌🏻🔝

Pure racing. This era was amazing with cars such as the R32 GTR, 190E 2.5 16v, E30 M3, Sierra RS500 Cosworth amongst other legends. Group A and DTM was just crazy at the time.

Heutige Autos fahren wahrscheinlich objektiv besser und auch heutige Rennserien sind sicherer den je und sind auch wohl kaum langsamer geworden als sie früher waren, aber trotzdem fühlt sich beides steril und irgendwie emotionslos an.
i remember a couple of years ago i went to classic car race in Århus (Showcase event for classic racecars, as well as racing for newer current classes). i still remember walking through the pit row, seeing the dtm cars with no hoods on, showing its gorgeous heart, then later that day hearing them SCREAMING down the straights, with the sound of the NA 4 bangers just breathing in the air. That is a good memory, and the reason why i love the older dtm cars. I wish i was alive back then to experience them in their glory. Also kudos for the soundtrack, just so fitting.
2022, wishfully thinking that we should bring back homologation. Just think about it; every car you see on screen was once an actual production model you could buy. Today, we stand too far from anything in stock car and rally racing, with much of those brands' image lost, with races filled with so called "silhouette cars".
Back when motor sport was exiting. I remember, we used to sit on the edge of our seats watching DTM. There's not to much motor sport on tv these days I get overly excited about 😣.
I wish I could go back... to the Golden Era of Motorsports... to the Age of The Supercar. DTM, Group B Rally, Real Formula 1, some of the worlds best music, retro ass anime and manga - those were the days.

Da gings richtig zur Sache und die Stimmung im Publikum war der Wahnsinn wenn ich an die Läufe in Nürnberg oder ganz besonders an das Finale in Hockenheim denke. Die symphatischen „Aussenseiter“ Ford Mustang von Gerd Ruch und Jürgen Feucht genauso wie all die anderen grossen Namen,Wahnsinnszeit..👍🏼👍🏼

2022, wishfully thinking that we should bring back homologation. Just think about it; every car you see on screen was once an actual production model you could buy. Today, we stand too far from anything in stock car and rally racing, with much of those brands' image lost, with races filled with so called "silhouette cars".

Coole Ansicht. Was ich an den Autos aber auch noch geil Finde ist wie Kompakt/Klein & Leicht sie damals waren. Heute kriegt man fast ausschließlich nur frontgetriebene Autos ohne Leistung, wenn man klein & leicht will..
