Mega Man 2, known in Japan as Rockman 2: Dr. Wily no Nazo (ロックマン2 Dr.ワイリーの謎 Rokkuman 2 Dr. Wairī no Nazo?, "Rockman 2: The Mystery of Dr. Wily"), is an action-platform game developed and published by Capcom for the Nintendo Entertainment System. It is the second installment in the original Mega Man series. The game was released in Japan in 1988 and in North America and PAL regions the following years. Mega Man 2 continues the titular protagonist's battle against the evil Dr. Wily and his rogue robots. The game features graphical and gameplay changes from the first Mega Man game, many of which have remained throughout the series.
Although sales for Mega Man were unimpressive, Capcom allowed the Rockman team to create a sequel. They worked concurrently on other Capcom projects, using their free time to develop the game. Unused content from the previous title was integrated into Mega Man 2. Takashi Tateishi composed the soundtrack, with Yoshihiro Sakaguchi serving as a sound programmer.
With more than 1.5 million copies sold, the game is the best-selling Mega Man title. Critics praised its audio, visuals and gameplay as an improvement over the first game. Many publications rank Mega Man 2 as the best title in the series, and as one of the greatest video games of all time. The game has been re-released on several consoles and mobile phones.

this sounds fucking amazing, dude. Heat Man's theme absolutely tears it up. The ostinato in Crash comes forth so powerfully. And Flash's beat is powerful... you can really feel it breathe, like it's filling the whole room.

I'm more amazed by the player beating Quick Man first in the video than the actual great guitar playing! I didn't even think this was possible!
You're technically supposed to do either Quick Man or Metal Man first. But since Quick Man's stage is so frustrating, most people do Metal Man first.
I always do Quick Man first. I do every stage in the same order that this video uses -- which astounds me as I thought that I was the only person who went through the stages in the correct order.
@@Dimensiom "Correct order", he says, as if such a thing could ever be agreed upon by gamers. I do Metal Man first, then Air, Heat, and Flash Man (for the items) followed in turn by the other four in no pre-planned order.
It's a little tougher to beat Air Man without the leaf shield or Heat Man without the bubbles, but they're both plenty beatable with just the pea shooter.
Honestly, my favorite part about this whole thing is how Megaman will occasionally shoot or jump in time with the music (does this on Air Man's stage with Metal Blades in time with the rhythm.)

Well Mega Man's actual name is "Rock" (Dr Light doesn't treat him as a machine, but as his own son, so he gave him the name Rock. (Hence the running theme of Rock and Roll)
Also, the whole Rock and Roll thing (along with Bass and Protoman having musically inspired names in Japan: Forte and Blues) was kind of a running gag from series creator Keiji Inafune. (The reason he finally settled on Rockman was because, believe it or not, he's a huge fan of American rock music.
I also believe these tracks were originally composed on an electric guitar.
Why this game has not been re-released with this soundtrack is so depressing. The original music was epic, but this is fucking GOLD
The intro and outro are so layered and high-fi with standard scooped metal tone in the bed tracks with the synth mixed in I honestly cried. You're doing a fantastic job!

I can't say enough about how amazing this is. My personal favorite soundtrack from this game has always been Bubble Man, and my God, did you shred that. The arpeggios are absolutely brilliant.

I’ve always wanted to do this I’ve been a huge fan of the sound track but thought it needed a little more metal behind it. Well now I don’t have to you have a done a flawless job in my opinion. I’ve heard bit brigades version, though it’s nice it’s not nearly as rockin.

i loved listening to the whole thing, it brought back such nostalgia from playing the game, and i have to ask who did the gaming, i recognize that the player took damage at certain spots, now im not saying that the player should have dodged it, i just recognize that the times they did take damage is usually the same place a long time mm gamer who has the muscles memory who has played mm a lot, but hasn't played in a long time. finally the player did a great job.
And way to get every melody note and harmony spot on. Hpe you're making enough money with hi-fi layered tracks like these. The mega man x stage select scooped power chords are sweet haha.
