In America and the UK it’s too easy to become an injector and half-qualified people who shouldn’t be doing it are doing it. This is why there are so many botched cases. Also American injectors tend to give a higher dose right away , which is an interesting trait of American cosmetic medicine. American plastic surgeons also tend to use riskier approaches to give better results, whereas in other countries doctors prioritise patients’ safety over desired results. In my country plastic surgeons and derms will straight up tell you no if what you ask is too risky or can’t be done. They treat patient as patients first. Not clients whose every wish should be met. I’ve never had issues( thankfully) with Botox. I get it done from a cosmetic dermatologist (not regular dermatologist, a cosmetic dermatologist that specifically specialises in such injections). With a properly trained and skilled injector, such complications almost never occur. There are injectors who have been doing Botox daily for decades on a ton of patients and never had such botched results. Botox is considered a generally safe procedure with low risks (if administered correctly). The problem is the lack of regulations in some countries.
Whoever injected that lady definitely was NOT a dermatologist. This is why you don’t get injected at a medical spa! Those people don’t have enough education and many times just nothing at all! FYI: The minute you see the “injector” facing the injection needle towards the middle of your face (in this particular area of the face) you should worry, bc it should face outward ⬅️😊➡️ not inward ➡️😮⬅️

What is even a med spa these days? I thought it was supposed to be a nurse who got aesthetician training but some of those med spas look so shady to me. It’s so suspicious how they popped up so quickly everywhere. That means the approval process was fast which means the legal requirements are lax.

Botox company will sell it to almost anyone (almos, not literally anyone but it’s much easier to become an injector in the US and the UK than in other places). The company gives some basic training course (which is a couple of weeks or even a few days of theory, how this medicine works and where it should be injected), but a person won’t become a good injector after those couple of weeks of essentially lectures, unless they already have a necessary foundation in general medicine, facial anatomy, knowledge of skin, injecting experience and training. There are also no strict standard doses. The injector decides how much to put and where bc everyone’s face is different, and a lot of those complications are from too high of a dose. So a lot depends on the qualifications of the injector. Ofc, such accidents can happen even with skilled injectors but the odds of them happening are extremely low if the injector is properly trained and skilled. Cosmetic dermatologists (not regular dermatologists that focus on skin diseases but the cosmetic ones that do those injections all the time) are probably the best choice for a Botox or even a filler injector. Please save your face, research carefully the training of your injector and don’t try to save money by going for discounts or cheap prices (that usually doesn’t end well).

Willingly putting bacterial toxins in your face to atrophy your muscles for aesthetics is baffling to me. 20-30 year olds don’t need this at all! Humans don’t need it period just wanting to fit what is deemed attractive in society.
We also don’t need to color our hair, wear makeup, wear unique clothes, etc. but it’s a personal choice and I try not to judge the decisions of others if they don’t affect me. We all have our own stuff that we’re going through and navigate the world in our respective ways because of it.
