Mimic minnows are my go-to for crappie, walleye and perch fishing. I can catch 20+ fish in an hour and floats near the bottom to avoid snags. Definitely my favorite lure (especially the 1/8 wonder bread or silver shiner)
I've had other BPM baits ruclips.net/user/postUgkxCbNOWAGmn6nfbCbJDmasvBq7J38KZNw2 before and they've pretty much always came through for me with the suskie smallies here and even with the walleye and pike, but I realized I didn't have an "in-between" pattern so this junebug one fills that role in no problem. it pairs up magnificently with a junebug Zoom Z-craw Jr that was trimmed a couple millimeters before the hook slots and rigged sideways for that fatter panfish side profile while still being a nice'n'compact presentation, a real power-finesse bait. Hell, it was so pretty I even bothered to fotosketch the pic into a watercolor painting image just to show you it's beauty! Even the blades are really well made, sure, they're not of Hildebrandt-level exquisiteness but look at the bead's reflection on the colorado blade, definitely well-made! The only "problem" spot it had was a bald spot in the skirt but it was nothing that I couldn't easily fix with a but of tuggin'n'shiftin' with the strands for a couple of seconds, besides that it is pretty minty!
Having fished multiple s in different sizes and colors, ruclips.net/user/postUgkxCbNOWAGmn6nfbCbJDmasvBq7J38KZNw2 this is by far my favorite. One thing to be aware of is the sided willow blade. One side is silver and the other is the green/orange shown. This is not bad, just unconventional. In terms of fishing, I have found the lure works just fine without a tail like a craw or shad. That addition is up to you. Also, the hook part where you attach the swivel snap or tie the line is a problem on baits these days, since it's able to slide up and down. However this lure seems to be tight enough that that doesn't happen often, and you can solve it by putting a thin slice of medical tube over the hook before attaching the line. Like others have said, it's really magic on a good windy day.
I've been using the perch pattern for 1.5yrs and have caught 13in crappie, 20in walleye and small n largemouth bass...great little baits...not very tough though. Body rips easy. Be awesome if zman made some with elaztec..
You've found your calling! Excellent communicator/speaking skills and your comfortable in your own skin - and you truly enjoy fishing! Great job from beginning to the end! I'll have to try out a few of those baits.
My new goal is to master soft plastics and jigs. I just cant give up my spoons and crankbaits though. Especially my Rapalas! I'm just on a soft plastic budget these days after filling the tank on the boat. I'll definitely give the mimic minnow a shot when things get tough! Looks nice and small for finicky fish.
I like that bait in the cover photo too. I use a different head where I fish. a lighter ball shape head. Eitger black w/ yellow eyes, or fluorescent orange.
Nice! I've always had success downsizing here in MA for early Spring fish. The bites more subtle and they don't seem to be in the mood to chase big lures
Just picked up a couple of packs along with a new UL Akuma spin combo at Sportsman's W. Loved the underwater action along with the smallies you caught. I hope to slay em soon!!!
The bigger orange one is DEADLY for anything that swims in any color Creek or river and is predatory. I caught big like and decent musky and massive small mouth on it and walleye I like that subtle hook set around 7 minutes in the video.
I just picked up two 4-packs of these (two different colours, red/silver and green/orange) and one 2-pack of their 3 inch perch painted ones. Super excited! 😁 Northland Tackle’s Mimic Minnows are awesome!!
Thank you for your videos Brandon. You fish like me, on shore (no boat) and getting a lot of exercise by walking. I've been getting some large bass using drop shot minnows and worms but I like to catch the little stuff too.
Brendan, The problem is we have to many Lures. We forget, or simply don't take the Time to use these Great Little lures, which probably badly out fish, most of what we use.
You should try the mimic minnow with the betts spin, northland also makes a kit with the spinner arms but I'm not sure what sizes they come in and if they come that small where as the betts spin arms are perfect for the 1/32nd I use crappie and trout magnets on them all the time and have a pack of the larger mimic minnows that came with the spinner arms
Thanks for making these videos I broke my arm and can’t fish because Its in a cast this is making it so I’m still becoming a better fisherman even though I can’t fish
Ive got one of those!! Only mine is sparkly green with a red throat. (I think it’s by Storm though) Caught my first pike this year on one of those little cuties!
Mimics are great! Have been using the for years up in Canada for walleye and also in Michigan for bass, crappie and others. Northland used to sell replaceable bodies for them but hard to find now.
@@seaxomp8613 For sure jigging them off the bottom or along a drop-off works really good for walleye. Also if there is a weedy area then the straight retrieve is killer as they are poised in the weeds to ambush (like a pike). We have even slow-trolled them (with the heavier 3/8 oz size) with success.
The yellow/orange one Looks like some old “gremlins” that i had, only lure id always get bites on. Got them from an old tackle box and have never found them in a store 😂
We caught over 70 Bass last evening at my 3 plus acre farm pond. Little your thinking I’m sure. Nope. The biggest which is nothing really special was 20 inches and 4.6 pounds we caught may be eight in the 18 inch range and the rust in the 10 to 12 there was three of us myself my stockbroker and his son full moon, and a great evening in Mid Missouri
I do have a few of these, its a good little bait... fun to fish with as well use it with a small rod like a dock demon from wallmart every fish is a big fish lol
Dude do you have any idea how much whiplash I got from watching a random fishing video in my recommended page and then seeing my not only my hometown but also one of my fishing spots outta nowhere 😂
Thanks for having videos I can sit and watch with my kids. No bad language just fishing. We love the underwater views.
Please never stop uploading, no one makes videos like yours
They are very entertaining.

This is the biggest fish I’ve ever caught, help Ricky Help,help,help-Fishbrain
Bruh I just got that ad 😂
Facts
Hate that add
It’s flair saying it
I’ve got the ad well over 100 times
Hey Brendan I'm going to lake Erie on a charter for walleye on Saturday I'm soo excited
Don't waste your time..they don't work well
How did it go?
Good luck man
I catch walleye on the grand river. I live 20 minutes away in Niagara. No need to pay for charters here.
Did you catch anything?

I’m just now getting into serious fishing and out of all the channels I’ve watched I keep coming back to your channel!!! Keep it up man
Mimic minnow has been one of my go to lures. Started throwing it last year and caught some pike on it up to 45” and some very large bass.
What color I recently bought 2 have been planning on using them for walleye but what color pattern do you use?
@@seaxomp8613 the perch one

I'm this way too. I will get to the hardest to reach spots because hardly anyone goes there. Always awesome fishing.
Wait, did you say “Crud Muffins”? Take it
easy Andrew Dice Clay. 😉
Love the underwater footage man.
You have such smooth, calm hooksets! Its hard to stop myself from just yanking it out
I’ve been using these for years the mimic minnow is by far my favorite crappie bait and they last forever very durable baits with great action
Hi Thanks for watching and supporting my channel Dm me for a package
those little tiny minnows right there are very good for trout fishing, pan fishing and crappie fishing too. Great success with the trout and crappies
Love the mimic minnows! Especially the perch colored one!
Try the Storm Wildeye shad and the Berkley swim shad 🤘🏻 love em!
9 years later man became a fishing legend
Been using those for a long time. One of my favorite baits as well. The bigger ones are great for walleye and some nice muskies.
Ya northland tackle is great for walleye fishing
Hi Thanks for watching and supporting my channel Dm me for a package
Thanks for the underwater footage 😍
very underrated fishing channel ! been watching for years love them man keep up the good work !
I mean 182K ain't too shabby😅(meaning that's a lot!), but I hear ya.
Hi Thanks for watching and supporting my channel Dm me for a package
Northland Tackle as a whole is usually underrated, at least outside of the Great Lakes region.
Fr- here at fleet farm we have mini northland tack log cabin, cuz it’s just that good :0

I have that exact setup in the 5’0 UL. great budget setup I love it for creeks

Either
That was a great looking big Smallmouth! Wow! Good idea walking out on the dam. 👍
Another awesome video! I love the way you get down and dirty to go fishing!
Awesome thank you for sharing the video looking forward to your new update video along with new fishing lure
this is a really well made video. I've really enjoyed watching your editing and cinematography development

I use exactly these baits in various sizes, amazing action on them!
Catch 30inch + Pike on those guys.
Hi Thanks for watching and supporting my channel Dm me for a package
I just got the mimic minnow kit, both gamefish and panfish. I can’t wait to use em!
The North Land Mimic minnows is probably my top favorite lure as well.
I love the Shakespeare micro lite rods. I've got 6 of the 7' light action rods that are my go-to crappie rods
This channel should have at least 2 mil subs in my opinion

Я не знаю английский
This lure has been in my box most my life haha definitely worth having and a couple different sizes
One of the first lures I used when getting into fishing. Never caught anything with it specifically but the lure style does work.
Great Walmart buy. Love them! Works great with a small spinner on it too!
Northland's propeller jig is the GOAT for Pickerel. Great company.
OOH OOH YEAH CONGRATULATIONS MY BROTHER
Great video! Love your approach to fishing.
Brendan, The problem is we have to many Lures. We forget, or simply don't take the Time to use these Great Little lures, which probably badly out fish, most of what we use.
Those are my buddies go to lure. I always thought they were one of those lures that caught more fisherman than fish, but apparently they work.
Hi Thanks for watching and supporting my channel Dm me for a package
I've been eyeballing those lures, I think you sold me, thanks and thanks for sharing
I have a local store with that lure and I was tempted to get it now I’m deciding to get it thank a lot🤩
I caught a 4 pound smallie on one of those before, great fish

Thanks for making these videos I broke my arm and can’t fish because Its in a cast this is making it so I’m still becoming a better fisherman even though I can’t fish
I've been fishing with those for quite a while and they are very good
I love northland fishing tackle up here in North Eastern Washington(state) there jigs are amazing best ones if used tbh.
Nice smally ! I’d like to see another “exploring new waters “ video.
Fun video. I like the variety of different fish with the smaller lures. Well done, sir🙂👍
Great to see you fishin!!!
Great to see u posting again! Also congrats on that smallmouth!👍🏻
I love those Shakespeare micro rods
8:10 fish be like “ ok human throw me back I’m dieing”
i started fishing with those in 2019 and they always work
Its been my favorite lure since 2 years
**For to years**
@Mason Warwick yeah
Ive got one of those!! Only mine is sparkly green with a red throat. (I think it’s by Storm though) Caught my first pike this year on one of those little cuties!
That looks exactly like an old lure called a Vibrotail by Blue Fox. I got one when they came out in chartreuse and loved it.
You're like the "Good Eats" fisherman's edition. Very informative.
Cool video as always. Interesting looking bait. I ordered one. Hopefully it gets here before my fishing trip next week.

🎣🤣👍🏼
That looks like the Kokosing River where it passes through Mt Vernon.
haha, the other day I went by those 2 bridges and found your spot! gonna have to fish there

What type of rod and line can you use for this lure ?
Can you use braided line with it?
I use these for years and recommend them
I do have a few of these, its a good little bait... fun to fish with as well use it with a small rod like a dock demon from wallmart every fish is a big fish lol
As for the first one, the spoon. Try it without a trailer on it. Spoons are for reaction bite. Not food.
I’ve put one of the 1/32 sized ones on a beetle spin spinner and even if I don’t get the hook set I’ll almost always get a strike
Like the finesse fishing.... Would really work for catching lots of bait fish for catfishing later...
pop a little golden spinner on them and everything will hit them; one of my top pike lures as well as a nice crappie lure
Dude do you have any idea how much whiplash I got from watching a random fishing video in my recommended page and then seeing my not only my hometown but also one of my fishing spots outta nowhere 😂
U can also buy packs of just the soft plastic
Besides the great camera work, let's all take a moment to appreciate that Brendan doesn't take the Lord's name in vain: "Oh my word"
The fish drops reel still putting in work I see
I wish I had a creek like that. My local river is tough to fish
What's the river like? There's a set up for every water, the harder the fishing the better the reward!
small baits are a forgotten gem.
I actually got that lure and was pulling bass a crappie almost every cast
Great editing on this video
I get mine at Bass Pro Shop, they are about $1.50 each.
they also sell them with a spinner that gives it a different look
Thanks 4 sharing
Real nice video. Love using small swimbaits they just work. FLC
like the video, i found that if y0u tie a short leader of fluorocarbon on , you will get the bigger lure shy fish to hit
They work great on crappie. My ma uses them along with the creme brand swim baits i get at walmart
