    This chest workout was PUNISHING! One of the best I've had in a long time. With super range of motion, reaching (love that cue) slowly controlling, and pausing, it's revolutionized the way I approach the basics. Cuts out all ego, is better on the joints especially shoulders, and nets a higher stimulus. Dr. Mike and Jared Feather IFBB Pro are masterminds and I'm grateful to have been trained by them, as the in person experience truly hits differently. Much love, and I hope you all try out this effective workout!

      Seeing those 65 lbs dumbells makes me laugh because I was doing 60s the other day... I'm only 126lbs. Did 4 sets of 8-10. Time for somebody to cut and show your real size?

    • @SuperStruct
      @SuperStruct Год назад +2

      1. Bench press is not a lift I'll do.
      2. You don't understand physics. A large body can move more mass. There is less pressure for a given force.
      3. The video here shows 2 plates. Are you talking about 225, or 405?
      4. Reps are important. Yes they did 4 sets of bench, 4 sets of dumbbell press, and dips. I was making the point I can at least do the dumbbell press he did. I haven't tried 225 bench because bench is not good for the shoulders. Every bodybuilder knows dumbbells are better for gains.
      From what I see in this video I am like 6 months away from this jacked behemoth. Yet I'm less than 130 lbs. That's my point. You go into ego lifting zone asking for peoples max bench.@@Ventryx

    Its crazy how much less weight you can lift when you really slow down the reps controlling it.💪

  • @DCJayhawk57
    @DCJayhawk57 Год назад +12

    Been trying to spread the knowledge of lengthened biased movements with my gym bros. I know plenty of strong guys who half rep all their dumbbell work and bounce their barbell bench. Not only is that just ego lifting, it's not as effective for muscle growth, and worst of all it just adds a lot of fatigue without any benefit for muscle growth or even "true" strength.
    Controlling the bottom position on chest movements completely alleviated nagging pec tendon issues for me, got me a lot of new growth for someone with "bad pec genetics", and has allowed me to access a better range of motion. I've been doing the Bald Omni-Man style fly presses for the past several months, and now I can finally do bodyweight dips again without shoulder pain.
    Gotta lose the ego and take the antifragile mindset. Get as much as you can out of as little weight as you need. Don't just chase numbers and reps, chase stimulus and technique. You don't need to add weight to the bar all the time. You don't need to force yourself to curl the 50s with shite form when you can't control the 30s.

But when you do it, it feels easy for a while, but once I got in the 600s for push ups or 300s for pull ups, and training with good technique, that’s when failure really hit me by surprise.

    Eugene Teo came up with that 2:24 , it makes sence that it stretches you more given that arching reduces the distance the bar can travel down, it makes sence to arch for a bigger stretch when using dumbbels that can travel below the expanded chest. Maybe tone down your dogma?

    Had to stop going so far out to the side on my benching bc left shoulder was hurting but perhaps I wasn’t pushing my chest high enough. Going to wait for next training block to try it again though bc I’m still getting great pumps.

      Honestly I wouldn’t recommend the overly exaggerated ROM for some of this stuff especially if you’ve had any issues with your AC joint specifically. The lower you go the more strain you are putting on that AC joint.

      @@SoccasteveI’ve damaged both mine over the years, they never fully heal and there’s no chance your going rock bottom with working weights. You end up avoiding movements like dips all together

      @fox20rps94 I could see that working for certain injuries but not for the AC joint. The way the join articulates the lower you go with pressing the higher the force being placed on that joint. That's why it's recommended to use a shortened ROM when rehabbing AC joint injuries. Sure, you may rehab completely and be fine, but if you have a history of AC issues why risk it when you can get basically all the hypertrophy benefits of not using an exaggerated ROM?

      What did you do to yours? Contact injury? I'm not exactly sure what I did to mine, but I injured it benching a little while ago and now it cracks all the time. Slowing been increasing the weight benching. @@KateWandless

      @fox20rps94 I hear you, but all injuries are not created equal. With an AC joint injury it's an injury to the ligament/joint and not the tendon, so increasing the ROM is only going to put more stress on the area that's injured. Tendon issues are different. I have no idea what was wrong with your elbow or knee, and an increased ROM very well may have helped. For AC joint injuries that's not the recommended treatment. Anyone who's worked with AC joint injuries will tell you the same. Yes you can work back to increasing the ROM, but an exaggerated ROM will have to be built up to, even then it's not recommended and it definitely isn't necessary.
      Same can really be said of any joint injury, you should take it as a case by case basis. The knee is a good example. If you have patellar tracking issues and your knee cap is not shifting smoothly then using an exaggerated ROM is not recommended. The increased ROM is only going to lead to more strain on the patella which is going to keep grinding against the femur. If your issue is some sort of tendonitis or a strength issue at and end range, then yeah, the increased ROM could help with your knee pain. It's not a one size fits all.
