  • People seem to either love or hate CBC. I for one love it, but I can understand why others don't. The land manager prohibited trail maintenance for several years leaving the trail littered with baseball-sized boulders, missing pieces of rock armouring, drops with no landings, etc. As someone who loves tech, these things give the trail a certain flavour, and combined with the old stunts, makes for a techy good time, but I admit it could use some sprucing up. That seems to have happened this summer as the trail was cleaned up and partially rerouted. No more sketchy boulders or holes in the armouring! I'm torn on the reroute because it seems very out of place to have a smooth ribbon of dirt in between all the jank, but I'll assume it was for a good reason. I was very disappointed that a perfectly good (albeit unrideable in the wet) piece of woodwork was cut out, but I still made the most of it. Anyway, enough rambling, enjoy the ride!

3:39 that might be my favourite segment from any MTB vid I’ve seen! Trail not as you’d like? No problem, I’ll get right on that! And then the skill to trial over your handiwork. Awesome all round. Great ride as always. Sick rock drop a little earlier too (don’t think that qualifies as a roll).

Thanks Nick! That was definitely a drop. A very, very harsh drop lol.

I'm sitting here having a man I never met before breathe into my right ear for more than 7min straight. While I watch him ride down a mountain side in a corner of the world I've never been to from a country he has probably never been to either.
    What a marvellous world.

So good! I used to ride CBC about 18 years ago…it looks to be a bit more paved over now but it looks almost the same. That was a great trip down memory lane, thanks.

Same here...good to see all those trails still up and running...back then some city councillors wanted to tear all the trails down...until the MTBers started showing up at council meetings..

Listening to your breathing right before a techy drop is reminding me how important it is as a technique. Reminds me also of Ryan Leech's Manifesto too.

Wow, that trail Haas seen a lot of work since the last time in rode it in 2019. I need to get back there this summer. I’ll skip your custom ride option to section. You know just to experience the builders work. Nothing at all to to do with the fact I can’t trials through like you. Well executed.

Thanks! I actually don't mind the resurfacing all that much because it makes it more manageable in the wet, but it sucks that it's wider now.
