SICK video I'm having a hard time with the Insta360 footage blurring when the rider is travelling fast but yours looks mint, any tips? @dickersoncantride
You rode that first one a lot faster then I expected. The amount of skill it takes to ride that stuff is just off the charts though, you guys make it look so easy.
I love seeing the respect for the community's history - digging out that cam footage from the past and bringing up cultural legends - one could probably write a whole book about the North Shore mountain bikers.
I think that depends on what type of Rider you are and what type of bike you're on. If you're on an Enduro type or downhill bike then it's not harder, if you're on an XC bike yes it's harder
I've ridden the Ogoflogo on two separate occasions: one when I was riding a size small Devinci Spartan, the other when I was on a medium. The medium felt so much sketchier because I had to pivot my back wheel to make the corner as I came around the stump and passed the point of no return. It was terrifying! I would love to have a really short play bike for this kind of stuff.
Also, modern MTBs have much wider handlebars! I remember when I bought my bike a few years ago and that was the first thing I noted. I test rode 10-12 new XC bikes and all of them had (IMO) wide handlebars, and each Salesman said it was for increased control and high speed stability on the trails. Epic, nutty, and unforgiving trail!
You guys make this look much easier than it is!! I've eyed that log entrance to Immonator for a while. It is much more elevated and slick than it shows in video and I have not had the balls to get up there. Kudos! Keep on doing it!
New name day for you, Dave: Daft Dave and accompanying him, Mad Marcus! Wow. Getting those big bikes to navigate those old features is amazing. You guys are every bit as good a rider as the originals!
Trail of legend. Arguably the birthplace of free ride. There's a unicycle rider who successfully rode alot of the North Shore's most challenging elevated trails.
I rarely watch trail ride vids but this was 14 of the best mins I’ve spent on RUclips in a long time. Those trails are crazy! Nice work riding those features!
Wooo, this is bonkers! The skills of these guys just blew my mind. When he lift the right leg to balance... Great job filming and thank u for sharing this amazing place.
Anybody know what happened to the forest here? The old footage is green and lush.. all the trees are dead in Dave's footage. Looks pine beetle, but I wasn't aware of any of those kinds of issues in the coast.
Unfortunately, pine beetles are spreading and unlikely to stop, in fact the problem is only going to get worse. Winter regulated their numbers previously, as most of the pine beetles died from the frost, then their larvae repopulated the area. Except with global warming, the winter frosts are shorter and less cold, so pine beetles survive it at higher and higher altitudes each year, and without the frost regulating their numbers, they have been overpopulating like crazy.
Also the crazy looper moth outbreaks in recent years (especially in that area). If you look closely at the mountains from afar, you'll notice many of the trees are now brown
The other reply is correct, it's looper moth. If you search "looper moth lynn headwaters" you'll find more information. It's resulted in the introduction of a tree hazard management program, which includes cataloging trees in GIS and some widespread danger tree removal near roads and trails. It will be interesting to see how some unsanctioned but popular trails, like the Cedar Tree Trail/Kennedy Falls, play out in the coming years.
I'm not a regular to your channel, your video randomly popped up in my feed. I expected an average trail riding vid with a clickbaity title/thumbnail since many other RUclipsrs tend to do that. I was totally wrong. These trails are actually gnarly as fck. Absolutely amazing stuff. And your riding skills are incredible too. What a great watch! Thank you!
I am not sure if I am happy or sad that Ontario does not have these types of trails :) You make it look so easy. The camera effect and your riding make it seem effortless. Mad skills, good on you!
If I watch this for any other reason other than what the video says..I would also watch because I love your laugh, just means you are happy as can be :) I need this very much! ty! and stay safe!!
The skillset that you have and the absolutely maniacal builders up there just blows my mind every time I watch one of your videos. Very impressive and equally terrifying to think about riding something like that. Great vid! 🙌
I would love to see a video where we get to know the builders of these trails. The effort and logistics of such an effort are remarkable. I think it would be awesome to do one of these videos with the trail builders by you explaining the features they build!
I don't use the word "literally" sarcastically, but this is literally my worst nightmare. I can't fathom these speeds through such an obstacle-heavy forest and uneven ground. I don't ride my bicycle anymore, but when I did even something so little such as roots sticking out from the ground induced panic. I don't know how you can do this, but I'm very glad it exists. You clearly know what you are doing so watching these is both terrifying but also comforting knowing you're safe and around people who also know what they're doing.
I rode the north shore from 1998 well into the 2000s. Todd is a trail build master. Top notch and they last for years. I ended up getting tossed into a few of his vids too in some.small bits and crashes..lol.

SICK video I'm having a hard time with the Insta360 footage blurring when the rider is travelling fast but yours looks mint, any tips? @dickersoncantride
the sound quality is amazing
Was going to say that the trails were built for old geo
The laugh you do after you do some kind of trick is so annoying, I couldn't watch the video. Kudos. That's hard to do.
That builder was an artist. I love the way they shaped the wood, the stone, and how they integrated all the natural features.
Yes man, very creative and nicely done! Looks beautiful.
Huge respect for having the skill and guts to ride this stuff!
You rode that first one a lot faster then I expected. The amount of skill it takes to ride that stuff is just off the charts though, you guys make it look so easy.
The fact you don't die or at least get injured riding these features is absolutely mind blowing. I have the most respect for your trail skills!
I'm amazed the ground below isn't stained with blood of lesser riders.
@@RecklessFablesit is. The rain just washes it away.
I love seeing the respect for the community's history - digging out that cam footage from the past and bringing up cultural legends - one could probably write a whole book about the North Shore mountain bikers.
Not many mtb videos have me at the edge of my seat! What a wild trail, and major kudos for you and Marcus! 🙌💯
The JOY that comes through is infectious. And the video
is astounding on so many levels (skill, builders, footage, for instance)
These features also weren’t built around 29” wheels and massive 1200-1350mm wheelbases. Which makes them even trickier to ride nowadays.
I think that depends on what type of Rider you are and what type of bike you're on. If you're on an Enduro type or downhill bike then it's not harder, if you're on an XC bike yes it's harder

Makes sense but on the staircase specifically the big bikes look like they roll through it a bit easier
Also, modern MTBs have much wider handlebars! I remember when I bought my bike a few years ago and that was the first thing I noted. man looks like you had tons of fun! Wish i could ride like that!
Dude. This is one of the sickest trails I ever saw. Thanks for bringing us this.
Not sure I even have the balance to walk these. Crazy to think these are considered trails. Awesome skills !!
I started to lose mine in my late 40s. It wasn't something I was ready for.
@@thedalillamayou don’t bounce as well when you’re older either.
You guys make this look much easier than it is!! I've eyed that log entrance to Immonator for a while. It is much more elevated and slick than it shows in video and I have not had the balls to get up there. Kudos! Keep on doing it!
Well done lads, as an older bike rider I really appreciate your skills and totally envy your youth and confidence
This might just be your best video.
The videos when you bring friends along are the best. I can’t believe how you’re able to do the trails
New name day for you, Dave: Daft Dave and accompanying him, Mad Marcus! Wow. Getting those big bikes to navigate those old features is amazing. You guys are every bit as good a rider as the originals!
Just as bonkers on a rewatch. This is some pure shore gold.
Cant believe that first feature is still solid enough to ride
I rode it 20 years ago and it was old then…
Gnarliest trail I’ve ever ridden, to this day.
How u get on to this trail if you don’t mind me asking
DD, epic run. Stellar control on that step feature.
Love seeing these "challenge accepted" rides done with such skill, precision, and control.
These trails are scary
Trail of legend. Arguably the birthplace of free ride. There's a unicycle rider who successfully rode alot of the North Shore's most challenging elevated trails.
I love the way the footage looks when you send it off a drop! This was some wild stuff!!
I rarely watch trail ride vids but this was 14 of the best mins I’ve spent on RUclips in a long time. Those trails are crazy! Nice work riding those features!
Love how much your just laughing through this trail. Looks absolutely wicked!
The collab we all needed glad to see it happen
your laugh is so contagious, I love it
The stairway is insane! Great work out there.
Excellent job guys....sweaty palms just watching. Great trials skills...out of my skill range for sure!
The only mountain biker I've ever heard who actually gets the danger when 'Fern bashing' @6:00
North shore trail builders are insane. It's hard to convey how gnarly this stuff is.
Fantastic riding! You make it look easier than I know it is.
Trials trails. It is amazing to see you guys ride these stunts.
yeah... right
this trail is INSANE! massive kudos to whoever built this stuff! nice vid!
Why hasn’t this gone full mainstream? This is better than all sports besides football
Just pure skills Dave! Good stuff as always!
Nice riding! I want to try riding trails like that someday, it’s cool to see they still exist. Sometimes I hate where I live, haha.
Hey Pat, just want to say I'm a big fan of your riding!

Love that laughter of accomplishment!
Being along for the ride is intense and ultra enjoyable. Thank you!
You guys are so lucky to have these trails! We are dreaming about trails like these in my home country Serbia. Love your vids, keep up the good work!
Dangerous Dave, channeling his inner Dangerous Dan on this one.
Hats off to riding this stuff. Incredible percision!
What a sick trail and fantastic ride! In my next life, I want to be able to ride like you! 👍👍👍
Both of you guys have insane skinny riding skills. Well done!
Unbelievable skill showed
That trail is insane 🤯
I'm at 4:49 and MAN that stuff so far is gnarly!! The camera makes it look way skinner than it probably is too :D
That is the kind of crazy tracks you see in game cycle runs.
That's not a bike trail, that's a qualifier for the Darwin Awards 😃
Have so match fun watching this - greetz from somewhere in Germany! ❤

Nice riding Dave and friends! Those were awesome trails to watch someone ride
Those features are SICK!!
You guys are aliens. Crazy skill set.

Holy Insanity, I would never even think of attempting that trail. Total madness. Respect for going for it dudes. Kudos.
What a wild feature!
That video camera is very impressive. It gives a more realistic view of the trail than a go pro. Thanks for sharing, be safe.
Props on those chop stick 🤘🏾and everything else you ride too 😂
You are truly amazing and inspiring!!! Such an awesomely gnarly trail and you sent it like a pro!!! Wow really enjoyed the video.
Absolute fire!! What an amazing trail and crazy good riding 🙌
It brings the adventure to the viewers adding to the interest of the rider and trail.
Exciting
Keep filming 🎥
Way to go
Your in there with the trail Gods. Above mere mortals. 😅
I would like to see HOW these trails were built! WOW no words...
Love the cameras performance and visuals
Impressive
The clarity is sick aka cool

Wow! Crazy mad skills! Awesome video!
That is unreal. Incredible that people can ride skinnys like that
That's one wild ride. A person could spend all year in there sharpening skills.
When Dave calls something terrifying…you know it’s bad😎👍
CRAZY respect for you man! I'm building up a Deviate Highlander this Christmas and am gonna work up to going to the North Shore this upcoming summer!
Just wow......awesome riding guys
been a while since I watched your videos, I like the intro!
Skinny vids are the best. Loved watching this!
I could only dream of riding something like that. My God
Absolutely insane! Great video
Amazing skill and courage.
This camera is wild to watch. Really feels like I’m there
"woah this was so scary" proceeds with retrying it again... bro you got the balls of an elephant. I'd never do that even if I had extra 9 lives.
I need to get a Devinci so I can ride like that.
y'all WILD. Insane skills and balls
This is sick! 🤟🤟

I believe Tod Fianders, aka Digger, who he mentioned, built a lot of this stuff in the 90's. Dangerous Dan Cowan was the master at riding these.
11:10 absolutely moving!
Wow! That was amazing.
Where is this trail to make sure I never come across it!? Nasty skinny’s!
I don't use the word "literally" sarcastically, but this is literally my worst nightmare. I can't fathom these speeds through such an obstacle-heavy forest and uneven ground. Thankful for ya boyyo. That's a good rider right there.
Highly impressed with that balance
It looks like these trails were so designed around 26er hardtails with narrow bars and short wheelbases. super sick stuff!
What's with the TRP front and Shimano rear brakes?
So enjoyable to view just no room to screw up
You feel like ya actually riding the tracks from ya lounge
Imagine if Dangerous Dan's Flying Circus was rebuilt, that would be awesome.
