Can’t tell you how many times I’ve watched this video, sounds like a group of angry galloping horses, pure ear porn. Gotta build my 351 like this.
Believe me I miss this engine. Thanks
@@1953fords are u running a hardened steel distributor gear with that big mutha thumpr roller cam or a iron distributor gear? If yours the 35-602-8 part number bro. They claim that part number is made of austempered ductile iron and im not getting a straight answer about what material distributor gear works best for this cam. Thanks in advance
Chevy killer go get em ford
Lol I bet your neighbors love this.

I would love to live next to this guy!
I would. At least he wouldn’t call the cops on me for my projects
You ain't never heard no Chevy sound like that! Very nice 🔥🤘
Whatttt??? I have a built 565 that will bury this little 351 u wouldnt even hear this lil motor running hahahahaha an i have a built small block ford in a 64 comet that i Love to death but man u wrong with that statement LMAO
@@michaelharrison6978 well a 351 will NEVER compare to a BB either ford or Chevy let alone and stroker large cubic inches. I once as well built a 1964 Comet Caliente AFX style tear drop hood fiberglass fenders and front bumper. Air ducks to the inside headlights. I cut the shock towers back and built a 1966 Mercury 410 FE engine for it 12.5 comp solid cam. And that would have made this 351 sound like a Camry. But I sold it wow 18 years ago and used the money as down payment on our first house. I miss that car. Built over 5 or so years down to bare body had it Sandblasted. Finished off with Wimbledon White.
Thanks for watching 😁
Guess you guys never heard of Bob Glidden's 351.

That's one mean engine!!!!! Wow,sounds great!!!
This is what I want my truck to sound like. Amazing. Excellent work!!!!
That boy sounds nice! I hope I can get there one day with my 351w motor
Love the small block fords! Got a few myself

Listen to that dam thing thump yeah buddy you got a winner
Damn son, that’s sounds big people at all you can eat buffet . Been debating on what cam to install in roller 351 we are building for fox body, think you helped make up our mind.
I'm not a Ford guy (raised in a Mopar family) but I can respect any good engine build, as long as it's not foreign junk anyway. Sounds damn good. A close buddy of mine is having a .40 over 351 Windsor built by his buddy who's a mechanic with a stage 2 RV cam and Holley sniper EFI. I'm glad he went with the sniper EFI system after I mentioned it to him rather than a Coyote swap. A new built C6 is going in with it. It's a 77 F150 with less than 150k original miles on it and all original drivetrain. It runs like a raped ape already, a fresh 351W bored 40 over with sniper EFI is gonna be ridiculous
Thank you for your kind words. Sounds like your buddy has a sweet ride👍🏼
foreign junk? lot of foreign motors are eons better than domestic motors, even just stock lol. and im a ford guy. do not be ridiculous just because of a personal bias.
@@bmthfan1231 I agree with him I don’t care if your inline 4 makes more power, if it doesn’t have the rumble of a v8 I don’t want it

@@therealunknown123. hey Bobby the cam I used was the regular one. Not the retrofit one. I used the gear that is recommended for any roller cam. I used a comp cam steel gear. Don’t remember the part number. But even any gear from a 302 dist from a roller motor will fit also. The quick fuel 750 was mech secondary. Thanks for watching.
@@1953fords thanks bro, i had a few tecs to tell me to use a melonized steel gear which jus means a hardened steel gear but i had one to tell me a melonized iron gear and that kinda confused me LOL! Gawd damn that choppy is sexy. Simply a badass build. Do you have the engine build specs posted anywhere?
Sound mean! I know this was posted a while back but can you tell a little more about the build? Comp ratio, rockers ect... I'm gathering parts for a 60s B/ Altered build. I just finished up a 331 for my '46. Video on my channel.. Thanks!
Thanks for watching. I have some other old videos of it I’ll find and post. 👍🏻
How hard was it fitting this in? Wonder about the steering box and crossmember? Going full disc what do you recommend for master and booster?
@@morganbrowning867 hey man so engine fits in very easily. Need rear sump oil pan. Headers are tricky with stock suspension. I used hard to find mustang II headers and they fit no problem. Now this car has a mustang II front suspension. So it has manual rack and pinion. Now I can use any foxbody headers. For the master cylinder get a 1987 Ford ranger one. Aluminum with plastic reservoir and small. Works perfect. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching

What compression? Sounds good, how's the power band before it hits peak numbers?
Sounds like you like hearing it:p
It’s like a symphony 😁
If you’re still getting notifications from this video, how much of a dramatic change did these heads make to the motor ? Vs Cam? Increased compression?
I will only use AFR heads for anything. They are works of art and work very good. This was a build all at once. Not a slow improvement so I can’t answer a change to anything.
I'm not at all trying to be a smartass cause that's a wicked build on the Windsor motor but I've got to say that I hope you let a little temperature get up on this engine before you turn it up? I'm sure you know that but she's sweet and I just had to ask.
Don’t worry it was warmed up. Thanks for your comment 👍🏼

Thanks for replying mate
Of course my friend. I wish I could have given you a definitive answer. Cheers 👍🏼
Are you down in Australia ?
How do you like that brawler 750? I have the 650dp but not enough carb so I'm looking at pulling the trigger on this 750 ? O and by the way I'm not going to ask what size cam hahaha
Loved that carb would buy again in a second. I’ve had a 850 also. Awesome carbs. I have a 600 on my ranger now in my other videos. It’s too small. Oh and thanks for not asking how big the cam is. 😂😂😂
Nice!

Love this motor.whst compression and how many cc heads?
About 10ish to one maybe high 9’s? I forget. It had slight dish piston the heads were 58cc
What else is done to this engine? It almost sounds like a pulling truck haha, would be awesome and much appreciated to get a full parts list of everything you did. It really wasn’t anything special. But ran very good and I’m old school and love a stumbling idle.
I’d guess it about 400-425 HP at the crank.
@@1953fords all good man, was the hydraulic roller cam worth the extra cost vs just getting the big mutha thumpr non roller style? Stock length pushrods?
@@RobSimmons6.7 definitely worth roller over flat tappet. No cam break in. Plus way less friction and heat with rollers. Just need to have proper valve spring rate for roller cam vs flat tappet. I can’t remember if it was a stock length pushrod. I just measured what length I needed and ordered them.

@@bryce090892 yes it was just what I was trying to accomplish I wanted the smaller size for the street. Plus if you compare the flow numbers. The 185’s only start flowing more over .600 lift. How much the cost his motor??
Go you have an estimate on how much a build like that would cost if I already have the motor
I put that engine together in 2016 from parts I was gathering. I’d say at that time I had about $6000 into it. I plan on building another one soon for my ranger. I’m sure it will be more now a days.
What was the spec on this engine?
Hey, do you remember the details of the engine? Im currently building one i got it bored and stroked to 418 cui, 11.5:1 comp, 704/706 cam, 1050 holley demon carb. Been a project and a half. @claystudtman hi I wanted to keep good responsiveness. Since it was on the street. If you look at flow numbers between the 2 heads the 185’s only work better with higher rpm and such. The 165’s flow a ton more than any GT40 head so I knew it was gonna work good. Thanks for watching
Daddy, what does a demon sound like? 😈😲

Do you need to run a vacuum canister with that cam?
I was running manual brakes so as far as vacuum I can’t tell you if you would need to run one.

Yes sir Stock Block .040 over. 1984 non roller block. I used a stock 5.0 spider lined it all up and drilled and tapped the valley for it. Then used stock 5.0 hydraulic roller lifters new of course. I then clearanced the dog bones to not interfere with the block.

Well I ended up taking the C4 out and putting in a 6R80 transmission in it.
