The bond with your cat/cats can be very strong. I would not give up my Leo for anything, for the love i give him he returns it 5X over. No one has ever known me as well as my cat, and he always knows how i feel. He has never intentianly hurt me, and if he dose when we play he comes and licks ware he got me. 😊

I had one cat that played hide and seek. How she was at one place then popped up elsewhere is an absolute wonder. Also she stayed in the front of the yard. If a stray came on the property she was the first one to know.. little cat. Fast. And she would disappear... She could be right on top of you in the last place youve seen her Then meow and you hit the roof not even expecting she was right there. Heart of gold.

My late Norwegian Forest Cat Tiger was extremely independent.
He had his own door, so could come and go as he pleased.
But when I put my trekking boots on, he knew he was in for some adventure.
    Just the two of us...
We'd go forest and mountain trekking. My Tiger following me like a dog.
    No collar. No leash.
    Just bonding smalltalk.
While resting together, enjoying the view...

In the past 7/8 years I've had 3 cats, 2 were Tom's but latter were desexed, the girl cat was already nuted from her prison wardens. (SPCA NZ)
My first boy cat named after our shop keeper called Pu Pu Rogers grew from a cheeky kitten into a great all-round outdoors indoors cat.
He was trained to come to my Wisal whenever I blew a certain tune.
We'd take walks together up the back of our country estate whenever it pleased me to do so.
I'd go there to rob wild duck eggs and things.
Pu Pu Rogers would come along following around the edge of the lake to where the water may stop him, he'd climb a post then walk along the barbed wire fence to follow, some times while standing on the wire he'd start to mow telling me he was stuck.
I'd then go back and pluck him from the wire and carry him though the deeper water to shallow dry lands.
This cat was a fantastic playful friend, but sadly had to be put down due to a bad sickness that took his health from him.
The next was the girl cat, who chose me at her prison though she wasn't the cat I was after.
She was a Pershin cross Tortoise shell type a smallish cat.
Totally different in character to Pu Pu Rogers, and I called her Wolfie.
Wolfie was all the things her person wardens told me she was were all wrong.
She was shy and almost scared even months after having her at my home she acted as if she was scared something was going to jump out and eat her.
Maybe the smells of Pu Pu Rogers still lingered around her new home I'm not sure.
This cat turned at to be just as active as my first as we too took to walking the hills up behind my place.
Wolfie after two years became a tinder loving pet that used to jump up on my bed every night and sleep as close as she could get agenized my back.
Every morning, she would be found curled in by my tummy area because I only sleep on my right side.
One morning as I looked out my bedroom window expecting to see my ball of fur running up the hill towards me as I called was nowhere to be seen.
2 hours later I found my poor friend and it was a shock to see her in such a state as this.
Poor Wolfie had been run down by a car and when I found her, she was still warm and floppy, needless to say this devastated my day and quite a few weeks after.
Now I have a new 3 year old cat that was a Tom when I got him that wanted little to do with me the first 9 months that he hid from me only coming in late at night for dinner then off he'd go for another few days.
I trapped my old/new Ginger cat and off to the Dr's he did go.
Today only weeks since his sex change, he's a completely different cat.
Loves to play the games I play with him as well as the games he plays with himself.
He follows me everywhere I go.
Outside feeding my 60 odd ducks he right there watching what's going on and the ducks they in turn watch him.
As I move about the pen picking up their eggs he's right there.
If I'm down in my orchard Ginger is there too, rolling the fallen avocados about for a bit of fun
Even in the dunny he comes there and sits at my feet waiting.
This new cat is more than the other two were in friendship but in a different way.
He jumps up on my chair and almost always tries to head bunt me.
I've not had this cat too long but in time I'm going to try training him to ride in my Ute with me as if he was a dog, as well as other things.
Ginger loves cuddle's and always tries to head bunt me in bed too, if it wasn't for all the fur he sheards things might not me to bad.
Fingers crossed the Nabours dog does not chase Ginger on to the road as I suspect it did with Wolfie as she hated cars to begin with.
Both other 2 cats were great mice hunters, this new cat has yet to prove himself.
End :) hope you have enjoyed my little shorted yarn.

At two moments I had 5 cats at the same time. And yes they are outdoor cats. So the first thing I did was walk with every new cat, around the block. So they could smell the surroundings, see it, hear it, so that when they were scared by a dog (etc), they could find our home again.
It is a very comforting for them to have their human walking with them, to explore the neighbourhood.
I walked with my 5 cats (not on a leash) and sometimes 2 neighbouring cats walked with us. The greatest feeling, to look behind me, and see all those tails up in the air.
I would advice everybody who have a cat of more than one to take their cats out with you... as long as you're neighbourhood is save enough to do so.

@@Nola5427 Sorry Nola, I have written a large comment to you... but of course I touched a wrong key, and all was gone.
But my main message was; inform your self if you like to do, what I do.
Know the dangers of your neighbourhood for cats. If the traffic is high... or if there is many wildlife near the place you life, that dislike cats... please do not do this.
Not every country or neighbourhood where I live, is as save as where I live. 😺
