1000% agree! I love mine. Also check out the Puig windscreen. I just got mine last week and it really pulls the front together. I’m 5’6” (1.6 meters) all torso but I sit somewhat high up because I like to indulge in all the unhealthy treats. Maybe I just haven’t caught the right crosswind but I’m very pleased with the wind protection as I’m not getting the bobble head effect above 80mph. I think they have a touring screen that’s higher but the bikini fairing style is working for me and really suits the lines of the bike. Cheers to another great video, keep up with the great content!
Thanks for watching bro. I personally like the bike without a windscreen bit I may get one especially for the cold winter wind. Which Puig screen do you have?
@@CHRUclips496 it took some getting used to because I spent 7 years on cruisers. But I adapted pretty quickly. It slims down a good bit by the tank so I can almost fully flat foot it on a completely flat surface like my garage, and I have really short legs. Like a 27” inseam. I always do left leg down and the bike is pretty light so you can comfortably lean it over pretty far. I don’t think you’d have any issues.
@@Love4boost Thanks for reply. That's sounds ok then. I'm hopefully having a test ride on Friday. Looking forward to it. 👍. Also, like you say, Puig have made a nice job of the screen.

Keep up the great content my dude !
Aside from the new gen 3 features mentioned, the most important imho is they finally fixed the fuel mapping. Gen 1 and 2 could not hold a steady speed. It would catch and lurch which scared the heck out of me when leaned over. I sold my 2014 FZ09 after one season cause of that. I'm thinking to buy the gen 3 cause the motor on these is like no other. Just loved it. So much torque :-)
I never owned the previous mt09s, but that does sound scary. I think the issue was the inconsistent cable throttle along with crappy mapping. Thank god they have a ride by wire throttle now, it's very consistent and smooth.
When I saw what they were doing with the 2021, I rushed and got by black 2020. Just like the look better (a lot). Added a radiator guard, new seat, and small windshield to keep the bugs out of the instruments and a bit of air off my chest. Adding cruise control this year, and having the quick shifter kit installed. And that completes my 2020 MT-09 "build", which is just a slightly modified stock. Keeping the original exhaust and mirrors because, believe it or not, Yamaha actually does know what it's doing.
Gen 2 is a great looking bike I agree, but I chose features and tech over looks and now I love the looks of the gen 3 more than previous models. I thought to myself why pay almost the same price for a 7 year old bike, gen 1 and 2 are technically the same bike.
Totally agree with u when it comes to looks, initial impression was like what have yamaha done with it but slowly it has grown over me and now I kinda like what dey did its face

A little update, I found a screaming deal on a '18 mt10 late this last summer. Already did de cat, yosh 3/4 system, flash. Beautiful bike, a lot better components than my non sp '21 mt09. Haven't spent the money to uncork the mt09 yet as I'm not sure I'm going to keep it. If i do, they require a full exhaust, flash. I get 25-30mpg on the big 10, and that's normal after de cat/flash! Mt09 I can get 35mpg screaming the stock guts out if it. Just the price of admission for the big cp4.

Love my Gen 1 09, but I'm curious how much more powerful the new engines feel? That aside, I can't believe this is a 500 sub channel. Dude, your vids are legit quality. Subbed ✌️
the 3rd gen CP3 engine is vastly improved. You definitely feel more torque with less vibration. The engine is silky smooth. I had the 2nd gen MT09. I went on a demo ride and noticed a huge difference in power. Aside from engine upgrades, the quick shifter up and down is also a bonus to buying the 2022+ model.
@@76tigga Funny, lots of complaints on the forums with guys who got Gen 3's. Buzzy handlebars and other vibration complaints. Lots of weirdfueling issues. Several accounts of electronic issues and bikes randomly cutting out. My '16 is glass smooth and is very simple with it's lack of abs and imu. Think I'll hold on to it for a while.
@@shinyribs2178 I call bullshit. We all know the 1st gen was the worst model Yamaha put out (bad seat position, jerky throttle, poor suspension). If anything, the bike feels smoother than the 2nd gen with a better throttle response.
Hi, love the video! What kind of mount do you use for the GoPro on your RPHA 11 helmet? Been struggling with what kind of mount I should buy for a while...
Awesome video bro! Definitely subscribing to your channel! As someone with an R3, how many years of experience would you recommend for me before jumping over to the MT 09?
Thank you! Whenever you feel ready, I recommend you get something up to 75hp after the r3vif possible and then an mt09. Keep in mind that the mt09 has way too much power than you need for the street, along with any other bike with that power to weight ratio.
This being said, the mt09 is easy enough to ride with minimal experience, ride modes 2 and 3 make the bike subdued enough that as long as you have half decent throttle control it won’t push you outside your comfort zone easily. It’s a very forgiving bike on the more restricted ECU settings. Mode 1 is a whole different game though and you can expect the front to lift quite a lot.
Great video...I like the part where you said that at times it feels like a MT-07. I have a 2018 MT07, and after 4 years, I think im ready to upgrades...especially after test riding the XSR900. @@Moztreet well today is 68000 nis. So I pulled the trigger. Btw can you recommend on a place in Israel that knows how to tune the suspention for my weight?
$9499 msrp- add Yamaha surcharges of $800, dealer fees (setup, doc, etc), tax, title/license and you’ll be at $11500 before you get it out the door. Well worth it though. These are impossible to find. The engine is like pure gold.
Can you comment on the wobble, which people on Reddit seem to experience in 2021/22 MT09 when they accelerate to 90mph and beyond ? I'm considering selling my 07 and getting an 09, but that got my worried a bit, I often get my bike to 90 and beyond, don't want to be dealing with wobbly front end
I can confirm that I never experienced that wobble on high speeds and I have ridden the bike fast and long enough for me to state this. I have seen that wobble or sway on previous gen mt09s and this is mostly caused by two factors. The first being improper setting of the suspension and holding the handlebars too tight. The suspension comes with the settings for a reason. Setting the proper rider sag and dialing in the compression and rebound to the roads and riding style would partially resolve any upset of the suspension work and learning how to properly grip a motorcycles handelbars is equally important. You may occasionally get a small wobble on acceleration if your hands are tight on the bars due to the fact that the front wheel will lift and wants to redirect itself when it contacts the asphalt. So proper suspension settings and proper riding skills will drastically reduce the chances of any bike wobbling or slapping.
Maybe I'm wrong but there is no point of switching a LIF control off - as it protects you from flipping your bike over. You can still do wheelies but you won't flip it. Well... unless you are going to do a slow wheelies then yes - switch the Lif off ( because you must be a Pro to do slow wheelies )
When LIF is set to off, you have total control over your wheelie. If I set the lif to 1, the system intervenes and won't allow the wheel to lift enough by smoothly cutting the power. Lif 0, tcs 1, scs 1 has been my go to setup for the past year and a half. I set the tcs system to 1 or 2 on the track to prevent uneccesary lifts going out of corners.
@@Moztreet well... I'm not sure how high you like to lift your wheel up and how long wheelie you do, but on LIF setting 1 I am going with front wheel quite high up pretty long distance keep changing the gears lol It's not 12 o'clock for sure but high enough to enjoy 😎👍🏻 I did the same on New MT-10 and works like a dream to me.
Hi bro, im interested to buy mt09 sp 2022 but i dont know will it fit me well with my passenger, im tall like you, and my passenger is 175? Do you have some experiences with passenger and how is for longer destinations? Thanks a lot ✌
The seat is not comfortable long rides and not comfortable with a passenger. My passenger is 178cm and she complained about the pegs being too high, and seat too hard.
I had an '18 that had everything imaginable done to it all the way to full K-Tech suspension, the guy I bought it from spent way more than I ever would have. I bought a new '21, far more stable chassis. Problem is there is VERY LITTLE quality aftermarket stuff available for '21>. Sorry for all of those that HAD TO have an exhaust and bought the akra, it's F ing butt ugly, sticks out WAY too far, way too long. Yosh system looks considerably better and can almost guarantee performance is just as good as the "long dong" akra. SC Project, Austin Racing......who even knows when they will have anything available state side. Biggest complaint is the piece of shit front blinkers that fall out of socket so easy. Yamaha says it's a "assembly issue" but it's just faulty design. I yanked them off and put on some TST MECH units on, they go with the look of the bike well. I can tell rear shock is REALLY minimal on non SP. Will do K-Tech front and rear again, Yamaha Comfort seat (fuck, when available) and lower just a bit. '18 with Comfort seat and posh K-Tech was SUPER plush, you don't know how inferior that stock shock is until you hop off the '18 with a $1000 unit on it. I'm not complaining about new model, handling/stability is so improved on 3rd gen. All the money, suspension, steering dampeners.....whatever won't cure that 100+mph light front end wibble wobble.
I set up my suspension the day I got it and never experienced the speed wobble. Proper settings, tire pressure, wheel alignment and light hands will prevent the wobble.
Possible, but if it had the same seating position as the R6 or R7, it would be very difficult to daily as that seating position is not as comfortable. Could be a second bike though!
@@Moztreet Thanks for your response, I have informed the dealer, I will soon make a test drive but order takes a very long time because of delivery problems at Yamaha. Thanks again

Where did you get the frame sliders, fork sliders?
M SLIDERS from ebay
ordered the 2022 SP last Friday. too bad I'm an impatient person, how am I going to hold out for a few months?
Great choice man. In the meantime, you can watch RUclips videos 😉👍
I'm not sure how high you like to lift your wheel up and how long wheelie you do, but on LIF setting 1 I am going with front wheel quite high up pretty long distance keep changing the gears lol
It's not 12 o'clock for sure but high enough to enjoy 😎👍🏻
I did the same on New MT-10 and works like a dream to me.
Is the headlight good as the old? It looks weak on how it looks :p
Brighter than previous models
Wish the SP could come in fill black as well...
I might upgrade my suspension in the future when they start to give in, which is usually around 20k km
Great video, thanks for sharing 🔥
Thanks for watching 🙏
Hi. Whats the settings of your cam in your helmet?
Hey. It's in the description of the video 🤙
İts better to buy comfort seat for MT 09(SP model has) ; it is a good investment.
@@ulaskvlcm the SP seat is not the comfort seat, it's just double stitched and looks different 😉
@@Moztreet yes you right, but it is better.
@@ulaskvlcm it looks butter I agree. But the padding is the same.
Is there a video how you adjust the handle bars?
There is one on youtube called "2021 mt09sp handlebar reposition "
I just got one.. thanks bro
Enjoy it and ride safe!!
Looking forward to the 2022 xsr900
It's gonna be good
What’s the biggest difference with the 2021 and the 2022 if any?
Only difference is paint color
u think it is possible to fit the gen2 headlight on the gen3 ?
Yes, I saw people swap it on Facebook groups
The Yamaha R9 is the go if it ever comes?
Possible, but if it had the same seating position as the R6 or R7, it would be very difficult to daily as that seating position is not as comfortable. Could be a second bike though!
I don't know where this is but it looks really like the west coast of Portugal. I live in Lagos. If it's not Portugal, is it California?
North Israel 🤙
@@Moztreet I wouldn't have guessed that.
nice video, is this bike good enough and usually commuting friendly? for daily use and weekend touring? Any way great video
Be safe
It's a great daily bike
@@Moztreet Thanks for your response, I have informed the dealer, I will soon make a test drive but order takes a very long time because of delivery problems at Yamaha.
Thanks again
@@petroosabdollahian1648 good luck buddy
FYI looks like you still got the plastic screen protectors on the cluster :)
The cover it came with is simply a thin layer of nylon sticker. The protector I have is a 3 piece thick plastic material, yes, my installation isn't the best.
Any idea when the next generation of MT-09s is out?
Maybe 4+ years
nice one bro.
I'm not sure whether to go for KTM Duke 890 or this MT09 CP3. Both have great features, but the KTM is way more expensive when it comes to the power parts
Get the Yamaha I went from Yamaha to KTM street/dirt sold all KTM’s and Harley Davidson getting a new Yamaha in the next couple weeks. Cheaper purchase price, cheaper parts/Labor more reliable bottomline. I do like the looks of the duke better but they have trouble staying on the road Yamahas are simply gas and go.
What is your phone mount? I just bought 2018 mt-09 :)
I don't recommend it
