I have ankle length hair as well. I don’t like to curl it simply because it’s such a long process and my hair doesn’t hold curl well. I have looked for videos for ankle length hair in the past and just couldn’t find any. I’ve worn the same 2 hairstyles forever because it’s convenient, but also because I couldn’t find new ones. Hi Mindi, you have gorgeous hair! This hair style is very beautiful and it works on me very well too. I also do use Argan oil hair care, mostly after washing and drying the hair. Have you ever tried to use hair forks or hair sticks? There are certain Etsy-shops selling these making handicraft pieces, especially for long and thick hair like yours. You should need usable prong length up from 6 inches, I guess. That would save you a lot of time in the daily updo, just in case you want to alter your hair style some time. I love your hair! Mine is very similar - I have a slightly wavy texture in the bottom half of my hair, and my ponytail circumference is over 4.5 inches. I fell in love with hairsticks a few years ago and am addicted to the nautilus bun.
Christa Nichols if you do get headaches you could try hairstyles that don’t include a tight ponytail as a base, maybe loose braids of some kind and then pin them up. Hope that helps!

I had long thick hair as a kid and for ballet class I had the large metal hair pins in too. My mom always made mine from wire hangers she would cut and bend into place herself. 👍🏼👍🏼

I think it helps that I use more than one hair tie. That evens out that pressure on my hair so it’s not just tight on just one small part of my hair. I also always switch how high or low I make my bun, so I’m not constantly tying the hair ties on the same spot- if that makes sense!

Are the bobby pins specifically for thick hair or do they have a certain name? I have super thick hair and bobby pins will not work. I have never seen those! My hair is thicker than yours but just to the middle of my back.
You may use spin pins (available on amazon and ebay). But please avoid such with that big round nubs at the ends. The ends shouldn't be broader than the prongs at all. The brand Hair Scroo is offering good spin pins, which go out easily from the bun without pulling and dragging the hair around those bumps/nubs from the spin pins of cheap Chinese fabrication.

I m like 13 with my hair till my knees and I legit have to do squats to comb my hair cause my hair is hell thick and gets tangled faster the speed of light! And hence to avoid any more knots I either have to do squats for combing my hair or get mumma’s help. Pls suggest some products or something to avoid this workout thing every day!
Hi, I think it is not so much about products but about the way you comb your hair. Do you use a brush or a comb? A comb is better for detangling and the wider and bigger the teeth of that comb are, the better for your hair to detangle. Products is a wide field, but just let me tell you that a good foaming shampoo, rinsed out properly after massaging the scalp with it, can be essential. And after washing the hair, some conditioner (just a fingertip, rubbed between the palms) into the lower lengths of your hair after almost being dry brings more than tons of oil as I see often in hair care videos.

I’m apostolic, my hair is really long, about a month ago it got really tangled I brushed it until I was left with two big knots, I’m tired of brushing them, I’ve tried many things and they won’t go away, I’ve been praying for my hair too:(
So sorry to hear you're having trouble with your hair. Have you tried using a wet brush? I've found that if I brush my hair in the shower with conditioner in it using a wet brush, it helps with tangles. Also, sleeping with my hair in a braid keeps it from getting too tangled. Don't give up! Keep praying about it! Having a lot of hair isn't always easy, but definitely worth it. :)
Carolina Silvan-Perez if you use styling products in your hair like gel, mousse or hairspray, it’s good to clarify your hair once a month or more depending on how often you use product. Regular Prell shampoo is a good clarifying shampoo. V05 has a nice one I think it’s kiwi scented. Suave also has one and its a blue color. You can also get it in salon brands. Be sure to condition your length really well after clarifying especially.
Yes! :) I think a big misconception of being Apostolic/Pentecostal is that a lot of people think we have to follow certain rules given to us by our pastor, and in my case, that’s not true. 😉 we take advice from pastors or spiritual leaders, but when it comes to things like tv, we rely on our convictions.
I mean it depends, when you're in the spirit you don't think according to the flesh, watching tv is all in vain. If you are right with God and do His works and you're in the holy spirit then you'll know what's right and what's wrong.
Ok so many things wrong- do not use that hair product. Full of bad chemicals. Also do not use those elastic hair bands. Sooo damaging!!! Geez you should be healthy

Finally actual, long and thick hair! My 12 year old has ankle length hair and I need some new ways to style it that are fast but cute.
Are the bobby pins specifically for thick hair or do they have a certain name? I have super thick hair and bobby pins will not work. I have never seen those! My hair is thicker than yours but just to the middle of my back.
You may use spin pins (available on amazon and ebay). But please avoid such with that big round nubs at the ends. The ends shouldn't be broader than the prongs at all. The brand Hair Scroo is offering good spin pins, which go out easily from the bun without pulling and dragging the hair around those bumps/nubs from the spin pins of cheap Chinese fabrication.

That’s awesome, I’m glad you like it! It’s tough to not have family that agrees with everything you do and believe! All you can do is pray about it and pray for your family. And never tell them that they’re wrong. 😬 Live the life God is calling you to. That will be a powerful testimony of what God is doing for you and has in store for your future! Get familiar with what the Bible says, in case you’re challenged about something, then you can explain why you believe what you believe. Hang in there! ❤️

I m like 13 with my hair till my knees and I legit have to do squats to comb my hair cause my hair is hell thick and gets tangled faster the speed of light! And hence to avoid any more knots I either have to do squats for combing my hair or get mumma’s help. Pls suggest some products or something to avoid this workout thing every day!
Hi, I think it is not so much about products but about the way you comb your hair. Do you use a brush or a comb? A comb is better for detangling and the wider and bigger the teeth of that comb are, the better for your hair to detangle. Products is a wide field, but just let me tell you that a good foaming shampoo, rinsed out properly after massaging the scalp with it, can be essential. And after washing the hair, some conditioner (just a fingertip, rubbed between the palms) into the lower lengths of your hair after almost being dry brings more than tons of oil as I see often in hair care videos.

I’m apostolic, my hair is really long, about a month ago it got really tangled I brushed it until I was left with two big knots, I’m tired of brushing them, I’ve tried many things and they won’t go away, I’ve been praying for my hair too:(
So sorry to hear you're having trouble with your hair. Have you tried using a wet brush? I've found that if I brush my hair in the shower with conditioner in it using a wet brush, it helps with tangles. Also, sleeping with my hair in a braid keeps it from getting too tangled. Don't give up! Keep praying about it! Having a lot of hair isn't always easy, but definitely worth it. :)

Carolina Silvan-Perez if you use styling products in your hair like gel, mousse or hairspray, it’s good to clarify your hair once a month or more depending on how often you use product. Regular Prell shampoo is a good clarifying shampoo. V05 has a nice one I think it’s kiwi scented. Suave also has one and its a blue color. You can also get it in salon brands. Be sure to condition your length really well after clarifying especially.

Yes! :) I think a big misconception of being Apostolic/Pentecostal is that a lot of people think we have to follow certain rules given to us by our pastor, and in my case, that’s not true. 😉 we take advice from pastors or spiritual leaders, but when it comes to things like tv, we rely on our convictions.
I mean it depends, when you're in the spirit you don't think according to the flesh, watching tv is all in vain. If you are right with God and do His works and you're in the holy spirit then you'll know what's right and what's wrong.

Ok so many things wrong- do not use that hair product. Full of bad chemicals. Also do not use those elastic hair bands. Sooo damaging!!! Geez you should be healthy
