  • In this video, I install a Rough Country 2 inch spacer lift on the WJ to allow 31-32" tires (255/75/17).
This is a 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee WJ Overland, with the 4.7 HO. It has the Quadratrac ful time 4WD system with vari-loc limited slip axles front and rear.
This is just a quick and easy way to add more capability to your jeep, to allow the fitment of larger tires. This can be done on a pretty limited budget, the spacer lift is only around $100, and I picked up the tires used for $300.
This is the spacer lift from rough country that was used: www.roughcount...

Excellent video. I'm about to do this on my Wife's '99 Laredo. Thank you for your effort.

Drive pretty much the same as stock, no noticeable difference

You don't need a spring compressor on a ZJ or WJ. Just put a jack under the spindle after you have the cor up on jack stands and lift the control arm enough to disconnect the shock then lower the control arm and the spring will fall out. Spring compressors are dangerous !!! Avoid them and do this job the correct way.

You are correct, didn't need one to get the springs out. I just found it easier when reinstalling them with the 2" pucks in there.
There's probably more than one way to do it for sure! Thanks!

Do you think the 2” would let you clear 33s or just the 31s

It would be close wit 33s, you would probably have some rubbing. Especially if they are 33x12.5. I had some rubbing at full lock with 255/75/17 and they are close to 32x10 so I think 33 would probably rub significantly

Jack up the tired first then put the compressor on to save yourself from having to turn that thing so many times
