I didnt realise this was even being built! I havent delivered around sunderland for quite a while now. I was always dropping off at the last bridge that was built. Ps sunderland council are one of the most corrupt.

Any one else notice the council decides to spend millions. Puts themselves in the heart of it even has the bridge placed outside their front door so they can access the sheepfold redevelopment during lunch time so they have access to all the new bars and restaurants.

Eh? It's there because it's in the city centre. Where people are most likely to use it. Where there's going to be a lot of building go on. Surprise surprise, Sunderland is not New York. It is not bursting with different locations around the city where people want to visit.

Look at the City development plan. If you’re not happy with it come up with alternatives, vote or speak to your local councillor or MP. Think you are suggesting the Council staff are building the bridge for their convenience…..look at the funding documents…….all accessible.

It is taking longer than building the Wearmouth bridge (1927-29). Football fans will use it I guess. As for cyclists it will still be as dangerous as ever to cycle in Sunderland.

Would someone please kindly direct me to the timestamp of this video when some construction actually occurs, I'm getting on in years, and sometimes things happen more quickly than my ancient befuddled brain can comprehend, I have this overwhelming feeling of loss at an opportunity to witness such an event missed, please, someone tell me when it happened, otherwise I may go to my final rest utterly unfulfilled.

@@chrisg5633 I shall try and keep you posted. I think the next section is being lifted into place on the 16th August but I have not had this confirmed yet.

Do you realise how long it takes to build something like this? Plus this would have been filmed late on a Friday, I know I have been working on it
