Dang, this song is over 30 years old and still sounds fresh today! Total testament to DM and how they always manage to stay up with their music, it's timeless!
It was Pasadena again, 30 years later. The sepia-ish tone on the backscreen was fantastic. You could tell they felt it. Man, what an awesome performance.
I'm not convinced that live drumming works on all their tracks. The best balance was back on the devotional tour when the drum kit was used by Alan Wilder with great effect but only on certain songs. I love Depeche Mode and that's just my personal opinion.
I agree - but i think this is a bad example to make a call on that though. This is just a shitty phone recording. Call me an old bastard, but mobile phone recordings ruin live shows now. I hate standing behind multiple shitty versions of what's in front of me. Why is it not good enough to go to a live gig and just listen and lose yourself in the music. I was trying to find an official proper recording, but youtube is swamped with 1000s of these shite quality ones from people's phones. hey ho.
please Alan Wilder , come back for one last tour , since your departure nothing's been the same and I know Eigner is a superb drummer , but sometimes I feel he's playing like he's on a heavy metal band =(
