@@PF10yt it could be a weird form of a curse. For example, most of the cast that appeared in the exorcist reported very weird things happening to them after filming the movie. Another example is that in Yu-Gi-Oh Arc V anime four of the Voice Actors for four of the eight main characters retired after that show aired, coincidentally the characters they played died and weren't revived in any form. Well considering they thought the replica was for Roxas when both Rikus explicitly state it is for Namine, it's safe to say they aren't great at analyzing scenes.
@Isrel156 Ven is a suspect for being Strelitzia's murderer and for being the imposter among the Union leaders, and for a while, he was the prime suspect. However, what with story updates on that front since KH3's release, the most prominent theories have shifted away from suspecting Ven. Thus far, he hasn't been confirmed to have done anything wrong in Union.
The theory he might be Darkness, who is working with Maleficent, hasn't died though. As Darkness literally pops up to tell Sofa he's not allowed into Ventus Heart, and Dark Inferno X was made from Vens darkness. Which he shouldn't have at that moment.
@@BlackfangDragon Do we know if Dark Inferno X was created from Ven's heart? I thought it was some kind of lingering evil that had implanted in him by Darkness, but wasn't a part of his heart per se.
Considering this has only happened in KH3 when Axel sees Xion, its definitely meant to mean Xehanort has heard his name before(his eyes even widen upon hearing it).
About "The Sigil" The recusant sigil's been around a while as far as story-wise goes. Does it need an explanation? Not really, if you were just pretty onboard with Xemnas going Full Oprah and saying "AND YOU GET AN X, AND YOU GET AN X" But the concept of a pseudo-magical sigil that was utilized to keep track of folks is essentially what this is all about, yeah? But in the context of Roxas, Axel, and Xion it *is* important. Various characters from KH3 refer to Axel as Lea. But, he refers to himself as Axel. "Call me Axel." to Kairi etc. Xion exists due to strange memory mumbo-jumbo and didn't have anything for an identity upon creation. She was an empty shell with a bunch of memories that confused her. Roxas has Ven's body but Sora's memories and a heaping helping of "Who the fuck am I?" like Xion. But none of them knew each other prior to the Organization. None of them existed *as friends* until the Organization. In that sense, they did need the sigil, it was their first connection. Their names. Names that they all keep because those names are representative of their friendship and *when* they became friends. Where as Saix/Isa will call Axel 'Lea' becacuse they knew each other prior to the Organization. It's twisted, convoluted, and maybe flimsy as far as storytelling goes, but to some extent, it makes sense. At least to me!
Plus, I think Roxas' thing with them was mostly a symbolic thing of taking back control of his destiny rather than an actual letter. I'd agree, by Nomura terms this is perfectly cromulent storytelling.
Exactly what I came to the comment section to write. This series, and really this dlc as a whole, makes symbolic things literal in order to explain them better. Did we really need Sora saying "this is Aqua's fear" and see her perspective to understand why she didn't act in that scene? No, but making it literal clearly helped a lot of people understand her better. Same with the sea-salt trio literally taking back the X. It's something that connects them because, in truth, it's what gave their lives as nobodies meaning
Someone told me that, to fight discount Noctis, you had to fight data versions of Organization 13. You had to fight 13 bosses to get to the Versus 13 fight.
@@Jinsei24 Well, he actually isn't. Nomura was consulted a lot during the shitshow of the FFXV process just so they could keep as much of his vision of Noctis' personality intact, actually. The whole point of the edgelord scenes is to put off that Noctis/Yozora are actually more softer than they appear. IIRC, the only huge main difference between the two is that Yozora is slightly colder, which is what Noctis was supposed to be like in Versus.
@@Jinsei24 Its really clear that Yozora is just Nomuras way to Cope with not being able to make Versus XIII and Fabula, so he's turning KH into it. It's kinda sad in my opinion that he can't just let it go and has to insert it into a totally different franchise in such a weird way.

Guys we've always known that the X was the recusants sigil, there's no real retcon. They needed to get the sigil away from Xemnas so he had no influence over them anymore
So with the X in the names, they never retconned it and it was explained in DDD. The Recusant Sigil (X) was what Xemnas used to track down and mark those who were important to Xehanorts goals. They reclaimed the X because if it wasn't for Xemnas accepting them into the Organization (Giving them their name) was how they met
I mean, I'm not saying it's dumb, but as far as I'm aware they only mentioned that applying to Sora in DDD. I wasn't aware it even extended to people's *names.* Until someone points out somewhere this was ever explained prior, I say the people who think the whole thing is silly are completely valid. I personally don't think it's that big a deal to make fun over, but I understand the people who think it's dumb.
@@thesuperMasterSword is really not. The X has been significant. When Xemnas refers to the Recusants Sigil he explains that it's "an" X that allows him to watch Sora's moves. Same with the names. The Journal entry explains further to if I'm not mistaken. How else would Xemnas and the other's be aware of things by not being there. Examples like when Roxas and Xion were tricked into fighting each other, neither Xemnas, Saix or Xigbar were present for the event but they knew of it all in its entirety. Xemnas knew prior to CoM that Marluxia and Larxene were planning a coup. They kept it to only themselves. How else would her know? I can understand people being confused but it's not a hard plot to understand and just requires some thinking
I haven't seen anyone notice that Kairi is essentially Noctis. She throws her Keyblade at Xehanort and then warps to it to continue attacking. Unlike the other fighters who throw their Keyblades and then summon them back to their hand instead
Terra, Aqua, Vanitas, Xehanort, Riku, Yozora....all fighters that throw they’re keyblades and teleport to where the weapon is. For terra and aqua and Vanitas is in BSB as a shotlock command. And Xehanort welll.....do you count Xemnas beam light as a weapon that he teleports with?
@Tum Tum So the moral of the story is to let the Pure Lights handle any fight with a Keyblade, because they can probably obliterate the field in the time it takes you to blink after being trained.
Seeing how the box was connected more to the Foretellers and the events of Union Cross, I honestly would have been shocked if we learned what was inside of it because I feel its contents are more likely to be revealed when the time comes for the Foretellers to get more directly involved.
@Tum Tum Largely because Disney is heavily implicated to be why KH3's Disney Worlds are even more empty space than KH2's, Nothing Meaningful Happens in any of them but Pirates and Monstropolis, and even less than nothing happens in Frozen

To me this is Nomura making a HUGE creative power move in Square-Enix. He's still salty about losing Versus 13 and having it re-named to FF15. My guess is he's using the KH series to finally play out the story he always wanted to tell.... whatever that was that took him 7 years to barely make before wanting to turn it into a musical (if the rumors are true)

They didn't retcon the sigil. The X was symbolic because if they all haven't met xemnas they wouldn't have created the bonds they have now. The sigil to those three represents their bond. Everything they went thru and everything they shared as friends was because they met each other thru the organization. Its just a symbolic thing.
Tam873 well yeah, they explained that in DDD i think. But we never really knew what the x meant at first it was just in all their names. But its used to keep track of the organizations members. Despite what its used for, without it or xemnas, roxas, axel and xion wouldn't have the connection they have now because of it. Thats kinda what i meant lol. At least thats how i took that cutscenes, a bunch of unfortunate events bringing three nobodies closer together.

I actually have a theory that the Master of Masters has no body! First off, the thing that made me think he has no body, is that he said he was a scaredy cat about taking his coat off. It made me think that if he took of his cloak he would literally die. I imagine it being a similar case to Ansem in KH1, just a cloak surrounding a heart. Not to mention if you look closely to the head of the cloak, it looks like there isn’t anything in there (not the best evidence I know). Also, I think the reason his name was blocked out, was that he maybe cast a spell so the world forgot his name in order to keep himself a secret. Secrecy seems to be really important to MoM

For the pieces if Kairi’s heart. If you look closely at the heart placement. Each one represents a moment she has remembered and witnessed, The first one. A shadow has a piece. When Sora became a heartless Second one. In the fountain. When she was saved by Aqua by some monsters. Third one. Cage. When she was captive because she had no heart. Fifth one. Riku, her friend and how she remembers being saved by him in KH2....I think I’m not sure
Don't worry Sora only turned to crystal, he didn't actually die. That scene was taken directly from FFXIII lore. Makes sense since Versus XIII is being implemented into KH now.
Nomura's not obsessed with Versus XIII. I've read it somewhere one time that he spent way too much time creating the story and characters and gameplay of Versus, and all of a sudden not only Square decides do change the platform, but they also kick him from the project, rename it XV and he's stuck with KH3. I also read on an interview that he was surprised (last year actually) about Square executives talking to the press about Versus XIII, when they mentioned it he was surprised and stated in front of the journalist, "is it fine for us to talk about Versus?" and the guy said "Yes" and he continues "Because before, it was forbidden to talk about it", and the guy just said, "Yes, but now we can talk about it". So not only he was kicked out of his own project, he was also unable to express anything about the project. AND this interview was just weeks before KH3 released. I guess Nomura just shove Versus references on the game because until that point he couldn't actually express his discontent of being kicked off his own creation. XD So, basically: He's bitter.
Let’s be honest here though. He was taking FAR too long to deliver Versus 13, I can guarantee you it would’ve still be in development till this day. He brought it on himself, SE gave him so much time and resources and he kept constantly changing so many story and gameplay mechanics that his developers got tired of it and so did SE. I can also guarantee you KH 3 wouldn’t have released either, Nomura’s main project was Versus 13 and KH 3 was in the back burner for him at the time, the ONLY reason he got forced into working on KH 3 was because of SE. He took too long and SE got rid of him and got him to devote all his time KH 3 because everyone wanted it, it had been far too long and SE couldn’t keep delaying FF Versus 13/15 as well KH 3, the fan bases on both sides were tired and SE did what they had to get the game. If anything I praise SE for giving Nomura the benefit of the doubt to let him have free creative control but when they finally put their foot down they actually did it for the respective fan bases of those games. They covered his ass far too long, they had enough.
BrownTaxi actually it was more on the SE than Nomura. Vs13 was in development hell due to SE insisting on making new game engines for their games. The one made for Vs13 didn’t work so the game developers couldn’t actually work on the game. Any assists they made were incompatible with the game engine. (If I remember correctly) they had to restart on a different game engine.A similar thing happened to KH3. They lost a year worth of work switching from the Kingdom Shader to Unreal Engine 4.
Having years of your work taken, torn apart and put back together as an unfamiliar amalgamation, and rebranded tends to make you a bit bitter about the whole mess
@@CrystalArtest "Kingdom Shader" isn't an engine. It was just a set of custom UE4 shaders made by the Technical Artists to get each world's individual look.

About "The Sigil"
The recusant sigil's been around a while as far as story-wise goes. Does it need an explanation? Not really, if you were just pretty onboard with Xemnas going Full Oprah and saying "AND YOU GET AN X, AND YOU GET AN X"
But the concept of a pseudo-magical sigil that was utilized to keep track of folks is essentially what this is all about, yeah?
Like a lot of things in Kingdom Hearts, it makes no sense if you don't think about it.
It works for that symbolism, but it fails when you take into consideration anything else.
Never thought I'd see the day where Xemnas is compared to Oprah. Then again, it is Kingdom Hearts. None of this.....makes sense to me.
I need "you spit on God's face" on a t-shirt

Someone told me that, to fight discount Noctis, you had to fight data versions of Organization 13. You had to fight 13 bosses to get to the Versus 13 fight.
Oh Nomura.
Technically Noctis is discount Noctis since Nomura has the character ripped away from him.

THANK YOU
Yeah its about them owning their relationship from top to bottom, taking away Xemnas's grip of "If it weren't for me, you wouldn't BE friends"
The misinterpretation people have genuinely annoys me. Especially when it comes down to Kingdom hearts

Not to mention if you look closely to the head of the cloak, it looks like there isn’t anything in there (not the best evidence I know). Also, I think the reason his name was blocked out, was that he maybe cast a spell so the world forgot his name in order to keep himself a secret. Secrecy seems to be really important to MoM

XD
So, basically: He's bitter.
Well Nomura is a spiteful person. I mean people complained about the belts on outfits in KH1, and so he added more belts to people.

So basically you are dismissing legit arguments which are quite valid, I can summarize the basic criticism, first of floaty gameplay, Disney movies didn’t add anything to the story and were basically like you like kh have a Disney movie story which doesn’t relate to the story(which btw other games Disney story had to do with the actual story,Obivion keyblade locked on people to play critical, yes you get to play roxus and kairi but only one battle wtf, yes data battle are cool but with the floaty gameplay and basically only hardcore player will even attempt finishing data battles, secret ending added more questions than answers(like what kh3 did in general),they basically added 10 hours of new gameplay and added very little in terms of what they promised, kh3 sure is a pretty game but that’s where the positives end and the time people have waited for kh3 osaka time did a pretty bad game , if not a really lazy game, that’s the majority of valid criticism and ignoring the valid criticism like people did with pokemon sword and shield like yeah let’s add more content through dlc(wth why support lazy Practices in gaming) before we got full long games like pokemon gold, silver, crystal and those were old games and added a longer story without dlc, so what I’m saying which I doubt you will read is stop supporting dlc(which rarely are good and is a bad practice) and listen to others opinion on that not all change is good, which in kh3 and final fantasy 15 are not good games but just a pretty money.
@@trishaishot462 DLCs are better than re-releases (Final Mix ver.) lol
@i love Nobody cares dipshit.
I agree criticism is fine but everything you just said isn’t correct.
@@atwer it is better but if i know, like with pokemon, there are coming more games like a re-release i wait for it why would a normal thinking person buy 2 game who are the same?
0:19 this video is rate m for Mmmmm if you're young you shouldn't watch this, but hey I won't tell if you won't
Sorry needed to get it out of my system
55:20 I'm level 99 on standard and I'm STILL getting my ass beat in these data battles. 😭😂
Same. The Xehanorts and Xigbar are giving my nightmarea
29:18 Correct, the X does not mean squat, but as Axel said, it's what they basically all had in common. It's an heirloom of their friendship.
Love how they talk over the new cutscene pieces cause they didn't realize they were new
Plot twist! The master of masters is soras mom
I love how Riku is still using Dark Firaga and purple swing swongs in general. He's a complete bonafide Keyblade Master that uses both light and darkness.
I think it's interesting that the game says that he saved 6 hearts when breaking the taboo, but wasn't it 7 (even before Kairi)? Riku, Aqua, Mickey, Lea, Ventus, Donald and Goofy makes 7 unless I'm remembering that section wrong...
When sora died he didn't force his way to riku, he accodently found him, then he forced his way to the others
“Terra sounds like a f*cking JPEG”
The X's are used by Xehanort to keep track of the organization members. That's why he could always find Sora, apparently. Because he has an X on his shirt. 😑
seeing sora as an AI fighting next to you is almost as good as using the other characters
The “creepy shadow” over twilight town is the gummi ship picking everyone up for destiny islands
"How is anyone supposed to beat this on crit?"
Me:
*beats limit cut on crit using Premium menu*
Its near almost impossible to legitimately beat it without the EZ codes on...
Totally worth it though...😅
50:29 Fun fact: Cid is the only one of these four FF characters that hasn't changed voice actors even once.
(Leon had a different voice in KH1.)
Not sure if someone else commented on it, but that shadow at the Twilight Town tower is the Gummi ship arriving so they can travel to Radiant Garden (so they can go awaken Namine).
Buns: don't need to explain the X
Nomura: X GONNA GIVE IT TO YA!
The "Sora's Portrait for Smash" comment aged well.
Original playthrough, oh yeah Kairi died.
Re:Mind: sees Sora and Kairi sitting next to each other. 47:16
The Sigil is where the Days Trio thinks their bond originated. It's their way of saying to each other, "This is how our relationship started, but we don't require it to stay connected."
They turned Kingdom Hearts into straight up Metal Gear
Riku is like the only keyblade wielder who has a pure balance of dark and light. Even terra is a bit more dark than light
You absolutely misunderstood the sigil part lol
KH Union Cross-
Shadowy Figure: "I am Darkness."
KH3-
"Thing" in Ventus's Heart: "I am Darkness."
Also KH3-
Vanitas: "I am Darkness."
Will someone *_please_* tell me I wasn't the only one who noticed this? Please. For my sanity.
I noticed. It's obvious who killed Strelitzia now.
@@KageSakura Thank you. I'll admit, I'm still wary of Nomura pulling another one of his plot twists, though.
It's possible that Ventus is just a puppet for this "primordial entity". Darkness might not even have a proper name, for all we know.
I'm wary of it too. Though if we watch the last story update in Cross they really made it a point to talk about a certain person not being the traitor. It would definitely explain it if Vanitas was Darkness this entire time as apparently he was in Ventus before Xehanort took him out and not just the dark side of him.
I'm interested to see where this goes!
@@KageSakura Also explains Dark Inferno Chi and a Darkness in Ven, Ven might be damn near pure, but that connection is still there, and Vanitas still has a force, even if The Darkness isn't the persona on Vanitas's surface, I suspect they are one and the same, rather than the Ephemer theory about DI Chi
KAIRI FINALLY GOT SOME REDEMPTION

Nomura: “Funny you should mention 13....”
