- Today I am going to be walking you through how to install One Up Lighting Underglow-X or any other underglow lights on a car. This process works for the Diode Dynamics system, LED Underbody System, or any other similar underglow setup.
This install took about 7 hours to do, but also included a few snags that people who own cars other than Mini Coopers won't have to deal with. Mini put the entire fusebox into the glovebox, so wiring the lights took about 30 minutes instead of 5. We also ran the wires for the lights through the fender liners instead of along the chassis of the car. This also added a significant amount of time that could be avoided if you choose to run the wires in a different way.
I personally chose Underglow-X because of the app functionality and the cheaper price, however, this is not a sponsored video.

Love watching people give true or minis custom mods
Now that's a great install video buddy... finally a youtuber that takes the time to do a proper video that is quite detailed plus being a little funny 🤣 Your mini looks amazing and the lighting is definitely a clean system. Make sure you do a a follow up video so approximately 1 year later to tell us how they are doing after the very cold 🥶 and snow ❄. We live in Ontario Canada and suffer from that white stuff and bitter cold horribly 😆 Again great job my friend. Keep those video's coming.
Seems like a lot of work, nice job. Planning to do this with my mini cooper soon.
It definitely was a lot of work. I’d love to see what yours looks like when it’s finished. Let me know if you have any questions about how I did mine!
Would love to this to my Veloster N. Love your mini!!
I really want this on my Mini Cooper to. But I don’t understand how you connected the cable to the electricity. And I can’t find it some where else on RUclips
Can u make a video on how to use the app because I installed the lights but it won’t connect to my phone
The ones with heat sinks are RGB headlights
hey question i have the same lights and a mini as well and was wondering, did you not worry about the muffler generating too much heat and melt the lights if that did you do to fix this issue
I’ve run them for over a year with outdoor temps going anywhere from -20° f to 105°. No issue so far!
How do they still hold up to today?
is this one of the best underglow on the market? it is definitely more pricey. are the lights brighter than the other ones?
This was the best I could find for the money. It’s the least expensive that still offers full app control and allows for multiple colors at once.
The lights aren’t necessarily brighter, but this kit has 3 strips of light per side instead of other kits which only have 2, meaning you have more coverage and therefore a more complete look
Just watching this now, looking into doing this on my Mini Cooper Countryman, does yours still work now? How have you liked yours for these 6 months?
It’s definitely fun to have!
Mine still works however water got into the grille lighting and one of the front light strips. I asked OneUpLighting about some form of reimbursement and they have yet to give me any information, even though it’s been over 4 months since I asked. If you do get this kit definitely make sure to seal it yourself at the ends where the wires run into and out of the strips
The underglow lights for the rear is to long on mine. Did you cut yours?
Mine fit by like 1/4 of an inch. I had to angle them to make them work
I am trying to decide between underglow X and Oracle.
I haven’t ever used oracle, but after dealing with OneUpLighting’s pathetic excuse for customer service I can’t recommend Underglow X anymore
Now are they holding up thinking about getting them
Truth be told they're not the best. The waterproofing is not as good as it was advertised and their customer service is non-existent
10 Amp Fuse?
How is everyone getting that nice black shipping box and I got usps box and no remote
I didn’t see any remote with mine. They’re Bluetooth.
But I’m sorry you didn’t get a nice box and only got the USPS box
Smh mines came in a black box and the control box isn’t working properly
what size fuse did you use
10a works well
Is red and green only colors ?
They are RGB leds so you can make them to any color you want. I had them on red and green because of the holiday
Worst kit you could ever buy I tried this kit and went out in a week no refund
