  • Heron Lake State Park just south of Chama New Mexico is a HUGE state park with several different campground areas. Book campsites online on their website: newmexicostate...
We stayed 2 nights at Blanco Loop which had water and electric for $14 per night. Willow Creek also has water and electric hookups. The other campground loops are $10 and dry only.
Part 2 - We will show the Salmon Run Hiking trail and do a final wrap analysis of the State Park and Campgrounds.

Aloha! What a huge state park! I am glad you are still doing videos despite your knee injury. This looks like a perfect place for tent camping! Talk about a drought! The water level is so low at the lake.

Not sure. Down by the dam it did look deep enough to have fish, not sure if they stock it or not. Thanks for watching.

The 2 BIG main loop camp areas (Blanco and Willow Creek) are camp spots you can easily reach with any car or truck. The only ones that would require a 4wd are those in the remote campgrounds that are first come only. If you make a reservation online at the NM State parks website, you can pick one in that works for you.
