Whilst Paul and Bob are the obvious stars of this programme, I think the production team and everyone else involved should get a mention too. The photography is divine and the love that goes into shooting each episode is obvious.

I agree, the genius editing the beautiful slow photography, I know nothing about post production but it had me googling to find out who was responsible for putting it together to make it a thing of beauty.. Still couldnt find 'them'...

One of the best shows the BBC have ever made. Two friends enjoying each other's company. Gentle ribbing and caring for each other. There could be a whole episode just of Bob falling over. 🤗🤗

And Paul assisting by laughing at him, I tried Paul's mums recipie idea only I don't like corned beef so I cut that out and potatoes I didn't have any, it seemed a bit daft making pastry top to put on maybe a carrot so I went and got chips instead it was delicious thanks Paul's mum
My daughter asks me to watch these vids after she has to turn her light off at night. She says she likes to hear me chuckle as she goes to sleep 💕

When a great mate told me about this programme a few years ago I didn’t pay that much attention. I’m no fisherman and it sounded fairly dull but I was hooked from the first episode. It’s one of the finest tv series ever made. And what a friendship. Thanks guys. Please keep making them!

I'm an American with an appreciation of UK humor. My pure joy in their trips is mixed with a knowing sadness that there won't be more them, which makes the trips they've done so very special. I can watch them again and again.

I nearly killed my mother showing her the fly fishing scene when Bob hits Paul on the head. She literally couldn't breath from laughing so hard. This is simply one of my all time favourite programmes to watch. Thank you Paul and Bob.

Yesterday & Today I shall be watching: Mortimer & Whitehouse: "Gone Fishing" I have just begun Series Two: It is the MOST life - Affirming programme I have ever seen on TV. It is a celebration of the 'Simplest things' . Gentle. Kind, fun, funny, natural friendship and life in joy of simply being. I shall be watching them ALL day, they are good for the spirit - so blessedly life-affirming - it is a true gem!! So much so that I have bought a TVL to watch it all!!
It is love - Affirmed... so gentle, so human - being! I really, really do love such humanity and natural Love and friendship... REAL LOVE... Love is Real... It is a heartfelt endeavour and the Heart shows... LOVE unfeigned... A gentle day ahead relaxing in such company... xx xx

I am in tears, I will save the cabbage! Just love the show and being an angler myself i know what can go wrong on a fishing trip and they are the most enjoyable! a fishing trip with minor disaster is remembered for ever. Keep up the good work Bob and Paul.

Living away from the UK this helps me keep in touch with my roots. I'm glad you guys and the team had the pleasure to make these series...can share my humour with those not appreciative of it so at least i'm understood where i'm coming from. Ah pies, background music, clever little witchcraft jigs and having a short serious chat... There's a lot to miss about the uk

I wanted to write a comment about this show but paused for ages. What was it about this series, these hosts, the format that I really liked? I mean it’s not the fishing (although I always hope they will catch one). It’s not the bickering (although when they click at times it is a joy to watch). All I know is I have watched every episode and always look forward to the next one. It’s absurd, silly and totally addictive to watch and I love it!
