  • Apologies for the camera not zooming correctly and completely blanking out repeatedly. Seems that it was overheating and I had no clue until I went to edit. And if you don't accept that apology, well you can just eat grapes with ranch dressing.
    You can find the PicoMemCard project by dangui on Github:

    The MemCard Pro has an OLED readout as well as wifi capabilities. OLED has been discussed as a possibility in the future for the PicoMemCard+ but honestly, to me at least, I don't feel there is much point to it. While cool and all, I've mentioned it on the GitHub but after trying the (+) I don't feel there would be any benefit. Although, dangui certainly proved me wrong when I said that adding a MicroSD card would be overkill for my needs.
    Pi Pico W was also released which has wifi and bluetooth capabilities, so this isn't soo far out of the realm of possibility either. Also, the memory card and the controller share the same BUS so there could be a possibility of bluetooth controller pairing at a long shot. What I do know for one thing, myself, I would never be interested in purchasing a memory card for over $25.
    If you'd like a case with matching PS1 PCB board DIY kit (you must provide your own Pico/Pico W/SD Module), search PicoMem on Etsy. I (Italics) may (/italics) distribute my 3D files, or (at least some of them) at a later time but for now, I'm just producing a limited amount of cases for those who are interested. I have other SD module boards to take into account so all that will be available so far is the longer basic PicoMem case (no MicroSD version) and the PicoMemCard+ version that only supports the Adafruit SD module for the time being. I also did a model for the cheaper SD modules. Again, these have a custom PCB I made which align with the pins inside the slot so all you'd have to do is solder them to your separately purchased Pico.

    That case for your pico is great. I have both the Pico and Memcard Pro and I can't make up my mind which is best.

      Thanks! It took a lot of prototypes and revisions but it has been one of my favorite projects. Another plus is you can create a MX4SIO for PS2 if you don't have a Pico although I did make smaller cases specifically for this later on.

      I wanted it for years and finally just found a copy a few months back. It was soo hard to find one complete with the manual. It is definitely pretty excellent.

    Thanks for video, can you share the STL for the memory card case if you have it?

      Well, there's a predicament there. I designed these cases around the custom PS1 connector PCBs I created to fit to them specifically. Without one of those, the connections would undoubtedly be off causing the pads to miss their target. So at the moment I'm only doing a limited amount of DIY kits with the printed PCB and case.
      As for the files, I'm not sure if I will be releasing them due to the fitting. I've also had many of my designs stolen in the past and sold with logos or names tacked onto them, etc.
      I'm still working on variations as well. I meant to make this video to bring attention to the project and inspire others to get creative. It took me two months and many prototypes to get the results I'm currently working with.
      Dangui has also created his own PCBs to connect Picos too. I'm pretty sure he's planning on releasing his files whenever he makes a case for those boards. The hardware and software is there, but cases are a different story for the time being.

    May I use for ps2 to play ps1 games?

    • @androxilogin
      @androxilogin  Год назад +1

      Yes, but at the moment the developer hasn't implemented switching memory cards because the PS2 slots are on a separate bus. You could manually switch the numbers of the active card on PC for the moment. In the future he plans to add a hardware button that will allow you to switch cards that way instead.

    90$ for MemCard Pro? Its 45$ !

    • @androxilogin
      @androxilogin  Год назад +4

      $65.05 on Monday. $90 previously. $45 is still waayyy too much for a 128kb data rotator.

      @@androxilogin They were first on the market with niche solution and it has increadibly high compatibility with Sandisk A2. Cheaper cards pprovides lower compatibility. I heard no regrets about purchasing one. I certainly love mine.
      How this low cost solution will work reliable so more ppl could just forget about owning memory card.

      @@TMracer73 Wait.. Please rephrase the question? I'm not trying to sell it to you, it's an open source project. I'm just saying I would never pay that much for something that utilizes such little space. I've used cheap cards, high capacity, low capacity, Sandisk, etc. Works without issue on all accounts so far. The developer is cool too. Reads what people request and adds to it. Adding PS2 card compatibility will be awesome.
