    In high school when they were released. Was blown away from 1st time hearing them and today would never turn off car when they were still on radio.

    The song was the Kinks' first big hit and has been in their repertoire since the mid-1960s, but I really like how the band kept reinventing the way they performed it live every few years to keep it fresh for changing times and tastes. If you compare this performance to others in 1964 and in the 1980s, they all have completely different vibes, even though it's the same band playing the same song.

      You could say they did do the first metal song, then you got Cream and Hendrix I would say Hendrix started it by playing heavy blues and the bands right after him continued it.

      Fun Fact at the original recording session at Marble Arch Studio July 1964, Jimmy Page brought in the tea and biscuits. Ray said Jimmy made a great pot of tea, piping hot with some nice shortbread biscuits.

      He picked up his acoustic guitar a few times in this show, although I'm not sure why he didn't play along with the electric one on these songs.
