I’m one of the many that suffer from depression and I am psychiatric nurse that’s worked in the mental health field for just over 30 years so I’m pretty well versed in the subject both personally and professionally.
CBT, you may know, is cognitive behavioural therapy. The way you think impacts the way you behave which impacts the way you feel. My comment, what are you missing, is very broad as specifics are not possible without knowing the individual. Fortunately, we’re all different. A good psychologist would probably be my first port of call to help with a formulation in putting some pieces together if you don’t know what you can do to help yourself to feel better. Only you can do something about it, no one else can fix things for you. Take some ownership. It’s ok to feel self sympathy and get sympathy from others, but that won’t change things. Take actions that will! You can do it!
