GREAT TALK! THANKS GUYS YOU ARE REALLY GOOD AT HAVING FOCUSED DESIGN CONVERSATIONS AND AT THE SAME TIME YOU TOUCH SO MANY BUSINESS RELATED TOPICS THAT MAKES ALL HAVE SENSE CONGRATS!
Insightful contents as always. It would be really useful if you could list the resources links referenced in the talk. A script of the full episode would be even better!
Great job as usual guys, however I had a recommendation. The last community question you asked Ian on future function of design and new the methods or roles of design is I believe, the most important question to be addressed for anyone aspiring to be a designer. I would really like you to elaborate more on that question and perhaps come with follow up questions to what is for example the best methods on a specific issue depending on the guest you interview ? or difficulties on using certain methods vs others, challenges and future implications. Overall great interview and great questions but I felt the last one went so quick for the importance it has.
Good interview. He's thoughtful, I'll give him that. I just saw him in the Netflix documentary Abstract S02E05. It took his team 3 months to conceptualize a square and a circle for the Instagram icon. They did it using a process that was akin to throwing spaghetti at a wall. Seriously looked like a satire.
Can you ask more focused questions that have actionable takeaways? For example, what design books/content would they recommend. Are there any specific apps that they use? Productivity and design hacks etc.
How this has only 37k views while logan paul gets 37 mil is beyond me. Maybe you should take nike lesson on board on how to make this channel more desirable.
not a single interesting or relatable design matter from this guy. All this dull manager chit-chat is a good sign that there's not much creativity to talk about at Instagram.
This is probably the most inspiring and relevant talk I've listened to that discusses the larger context in which how good design can happen. Design isn't just about execution. Good design happens when the environment is fertile. Many companies do not get it and their product quality suffers as a result. Without a great design leader setting boundaries and educating the management team, good design simply can not happen.
What the heck is "eKcetera"? It's eTcetera. The guy doesn't even speak English well. I can't take him seriously if he lacks basic command of his "native" language.
Facepalm * when people overuse the word "etcetera" when they talk, and they butcher it up every time by saying exetra. So lame. No wonder Instagram is 50% fake bullshit, fake accounts, robot likes, generic robot comments, ETCETERA.
When you're the only designer in a company, how do you convince the business of the value of design?
Ian - "You leave."
SAVAGE 🙌🏻 🙏🏻
I did. Sometimes its not worth the effort or time.
Moving forward, could you provide links to the resources your guests mention/recommend during the show?
it's great to hear of company's design processes that match your own. these interviews are getting better and better!!
Enjoy this episode with Ian! If you need anything we're here to help.
this was awesome will link to my websites great vlogs.

Not listening on a podcast app so how about a like, comment, and a follow instead? Great content fellas.

Creativity Inc is the best. Such a great interview with a lot of insights as always!
East coast west coast difference? Curious what he meant
8:30 'how you went about bringing design to the conversation (in a company)"
Another great job guys!

So much intelligence behind such a boring, repetitive app. Why? The user does not come first. Money does. But the users get bored and leave.

This guy gets it...

So „Latin“ is his native language?
Luckily of us, him, and Instagram, you taking him seriously doesn’t matter.
