So I'm really interested in the self-learning part-especially because Center Centre doesn't accept international students yet. Just by looking at the school's curriculum I can clearly identify skills I need to learn or improve. For example in research, which Jared mentioned. There are clearly gaps between reading and studying about something and being confident to execute it in a real world scenario. Any insights into how to fill those gaps in a self-learning environment?
Hey Lucas. I go to a design school and have done research projects both in and outside of school. There is not much difference in reading (on the internet/books) and studying (at school) about something. The difference is in reading/studying and 'doing' it. You basically learn by doing it i.e. your research field visits will be your actual lessons.
Also, there is absolutely no difference in how you execute research for 'real world' scenario or a side project (a utility app, a service design problem, a design overhaul). The difference lies only in the constraints that you will define yourself.
