- Definitely the best weekend trip we could've asked for! Nikko absolutely blew my mind and I couldn't believe how empty it was. Having such a beautiful place all to ourselves was just so special.
Sorry about the audio on the last part of the video using my iPhone. I didn't quite get the levels right...

Hi Hannah! New subscriber here. As a Japanese American who grew up in the United States and have not been to Japan in over 20 years, these videos inspire me to make my way to the motherland. Keep doing what you do! ありがとう!
Hi Hannah!! Sooooo much fun!!!
I’m a Canadian/ Aussie, who is also onstage, working as a performer/circus/actor.. etc.. 😝 I was on tour in Japan for a year and a half way back in 2004.. watching your vlogs are bringing back the best memories, and traveling the past 15 years I relate to your experiences!! I love your energy and outlook on life.. continue with the great vlogs!! You’re inspiring me to start creating again.. ✌️❤️🌺❤️✌️
Took pretty much the same trip two years or so ago. Amazingly beautiful. Nice to visit again through your video. Thanks!
You ladies certainly are "breathe of fresh air!" :D Thanks for showing me a "little bit of everything" of Japan! Cheers to more travels around the globe! :)
I love Nikko! Stayed there for 5 days last summer. It was glorious...
Welcome to Tochigi, Nikko!
I'm livein Tochigi
I'm so happy!
Thank you for coming to
Tochigi‼️
Living vicariously through you, Hannah! 🤣😭 Your Japan vlogs are awesoooome
Thank you for bringing us on your wonderful journeys. Your cinematography is on point! I can't wait to go back to Japan and visit Nikko for myself. So glad to have discovered your channel :)
カメラの撮り方、編集・エフェクトが全て超うまい。
いい動画です。
Nikko is a town at the entrance to Nikko National Park, most famous for Toshogu, Japan's most lavishly decorated shrine and the mausoleum of Tokugawa Ieyasu, the founder of the Tokugawa shogunate
シーズンの日光は渋滞で大変ですがこういう閑散期の日光は静謐な趣があっていいですね。
カメラワークや編集も素晴らしかったです。
Congratulations! I am greek working and living in Japan and you conveyed in this video all the charm and beauty of the Japanese province! Well done!
So nice to see a video from Nikko and Chuzenji-ko. I used to live in Utsunomiya (just moved back to Sweden), about 40 minutes from Nikko and have been there soooo many times. Onsen is the best, loved how they had really crammed all your beds in there. :)
Omg i love Nikko! Went there on my first trip to Japan. Such a beautiful place 😍
HANNAH!! I’m from Tochigi and so glad you liked Nikko!! Make sure to come visit again:) much love xxxx
Japan is so magical!!
Love your vlogs ❤️
I lived and worked in Nikko for the last two years and I felt more at home in that town than my hometown in Australia.
I actually taught just around the corner from the bus stop at Chugushi! So once a week I was able to experience what you did. The temple you visited up there is called Futarasan.
I hope you go back because it’s too beautiful all year round not to sightsee. I’ve left Nikko for only 3 weeks now and I already miss it
I looooved Nikko. Nikko is such a lovely place! Seeing this video makes me want to go back as I think it is one of the most beautiful places I've seen in Japan. It was so peaceful.
My hometown!
Thank you for sharing this beautiful video!
I have been watching your vlogs recently, and I've developed a little Australian accent from your videos. Thanks Hannah haha
Found an old video where you were happy to have gone past 50k subscribers. Look at you now! Your work is great and a breathe of fresh air.
去年夏から秋の終わりまで日光にいたから見てて懐かしかった。とにかく楽しそうで嬉しい動画だね。
Seriously your video’s is so wonderful! Because of the slow motion and the music and also the fact that it is in Japan, it actually made tears in my eyes!! Thanks! Just do what you do, it’s a wonderful job you do!! ❤️😁
Thanks for sharing this! Nikko looks like an amazing place to visit. Makes me motivated to work hard so i can visit more parts of Japan..
I stayed at that hotel when I was there. Definitely great hotel. Too bad I didn't have time to visit the lake. Absolutely love Nikko.
which hotel is it? 🌟
Planning on going there soon :)
Japan is so beautiful. Well edited, well done overall. Good job ladies.
I love this video! Now i like to visit Japan!!! The music suits wonderfull to the beauty of the landscape!
Wow, Nikko is gorgeous. Thank you!
Wow, that really did look amazing. I can only imagine the stunning visuals you would have gotten with the Spark or Air! Though, it gives you an excuse to go back ;)
Beautiful place. Glad you girls enjoyed the trip
This is so helpful! Thank you, Hannah.
I can totally relate how ya'll felt when you guys see snow and touch snow for the 1st time!!😂😂😂 I travelled to Vancouver as well and i was hyping for like 2days cause living in singapore even a thousand years later you wont see any snow😂🤣🤣
You always make movies no one would hit the dislike button! So lovely, cheers!
Crispy Pizza, that is awesome XD I work at an Interpreter's hotline and once I got this old Vietnamese interpreter, old and sweet guy, that for some Reason thought my last name was Brocollie, so every time he called and I answered he was like Miss Brocollie! Sweetest man ever .
From your youtube videos, I think that you have already understood about "Wabi, Sabi" = わび・さび(侘・寂)of Japan, so that, you could find the place almost people from foreign country has overlooked. It looks attractive from the our viewpoint of Japanese.
THIS IS MAGIC
you've just inspired me to go to Nikko next year! I've been looking for a place/city/town in Japan where I could see snow!
Thank you
Daphne Mahusay there is yamagata as well :)
Thank you for the suggestion :) I'll look it up
this is so beautiful. thank you!!
Beautiful / magical video!!!
I clicked over because of the attractive person on the thumbnail, but i got sucked in by the videography and music edits instead =3. Thank you @CurrentlyHannah for the wonderful video!
The area between Nikko and Kinugawa Onsen is a very beautiful place
Winter is so beautiful, I just don't like the cold 😂
I’ve ever been this ryokan! to go to see the Nikko’s icefall 👍

Good shot of the scenic views. Thx!
Wow. Upping the filming game, Hannah. Excellent!

春夏秋と素晴らしい所です。
どうぞ日光お越し下さい。
wonderful video. So looking forward to my trip to Nikko now.
omg i love these. you're so talented with editing and film making. i was wondering what the song was round the 3:50 mark? i'd to download/buy that for bedtime. so relaxing.
Video quality is amazing!
Hi Guys Thank You like snow so much ,that good. For us here in New England USA , we just like it for a while in the beginning of season after that it will be a lot of work to shovel it , Always cold from October to May and a lot snowing day but it really beautiful especially on Christmas season When the snow just fall from sky and white, soft and amazing you fell like in a dream moment !!!
I was so crowded in April lol and it was heavy fog at the lake too. But I enjoy anyway, want to visit when there're snow too.
So many Westerners when they think of Japan think only of sprawling, crowded cities, without realising how beautiful the countryside is. And because their public transport is so good, most places are easily accessible. Plus you can get by with knowing very little Japanese, as the people are very friendly and helpful.
Ah! I was there during golden week. It was an awful commute, but well worth it. The ryokan I went to was what I needed after the rush of the big city.
i decided to visit Nikko on the 24/11 in 2016 when Tokyo experienced the first November snow in 53 years, and trains were delayed and it took me half a day to get to Nikko, I was stranded in a small town as the trains stopped going to Nikko due to heavy snow. By the time i arrived the day was getting darker and all the attractions were closing soon and i ended up wasting my Nikko day pass. No a very pleasant experience but i really hope i can go back again and properly appreciate the beauty of this place :D ps. i have also experienced my first ever earthquake on the 22nd and that was my first ever trip to Japan, i don't know if i was lucky or... :S
you should try coming to Hokkaido!!
You can see a lot of snow!!
Ramen is so good!!!
Hokkaido snow and more snow :-)))))))))))))))))
I LOVE IT. Welcome to Tochigi!! which is my hometown haha
Yuya Oyama 俺も地元栃木w
Thanks for sharing Hannah.
Nice 3 ladies ! Let's enjoy Japan more . 3人共明るいので、気持ちいいです。
日本人でも知らなそうなスポット、よく見つけましたね。
Wow Nikko in the snow without crowds seems magical! Kegon falls is a lot more impressive in the summer just after rainy season though.
Did you guys go to Toshogu too or were you just unable to film that?
外国の方ってカメラアングルとか編集のセンスすごい人多いね。向こうのドキュメンタリーを見て育つからかな?
Subscribing because your music choices for your clips are INSANELY AWESOME
Oh thanks!! Music choice is usually the hardest part of making videos so I’m glad you like my choices
I just love you hannah
If you go there in October, more beautiful and you will see more people, and it is not that cold.
いい動画ですね!
これからも見ていきます!
The Dragon you pulled from the ice was impressive.
Great video, you and your friends are amazing.
Love Japan and the people are so nice ....
great video, felt like going to Nikko soon
Thanks for sharing nice video Even I'm Japanese, I didn't know that beautiful place!
Love your travel
hi Hannah. I know this video is from a while ago but I'm thinking of coming back to Tokyo next March and exploring Nikko also, can I ask when this was filmed? I'd love to see some snow as I live in Thailand! Love your videos!
same question
awesome!
When did you go there? It's look so good . Thank you for Sharing! I love your video so much
日本の伝統や歴史や素敵な文化を最近外国の人に教えてもらっています、逆輸入状態、日本人でさえ知らない歴史や文化を映像にしてくださってありがとうございます!
I went the in summertime (August) and the place was heaving, although I only went to the main big temple complex. Does the train there from Tokyo still leave from the middle of a department store? The signs in the shop was sort of like "2nd Floor - Menswear, Bedroom Furnishings, Railway Station". slightly strange to say the least.
I remember it was a long train journey, with a lot of stops, and I had to change trains at about the 14th stop. Somehow I lost count, but it didn't matter, as absolutely everybody got off the (full) train at once, as they were all going to Nikko.
いいところに行きましたね!
Hi Hannah! My family is planning a trip to Nikko from Tokyo, this late February and maybe first week of March, do you think it's better to ride local trains? We are planning to get a JR Tokyo Wide Pass, and just not sure if it's valid around local trains in Tokyo as well. Anyway, I am glad I saw your video, my dad wants to see snow and I wasn't sure where to take him that's near Tokyo. Thank you!!!
Great 🎥 video once again 👍🏻
Keep on goin' Hannah......
enjoyed it ❤️
Noticed your Suica Fare was 1700 yen. Heres a Tip i learnt living in Tokyo getting around on the JR network and going on day trips. I would buy a Tokunai pass for 750yen which is unlimited rides in the metro zone. If I needed to go out of the tokyo metro zone i'd just pay the fare adjustment on the way out. going back in you buy the cheapest ticket to get through the gate say 170 yen, then use your daily tokunai pass to get through the barrier in the free zone. Its a bit sneaky and the locals would never do such a thing but it can save you a bit of cash. Good luck with your travels.
Nice video & BGM . Thanx!
my hometown!
すごく綺麗な映像!行きたくなる
Wow sugoi! Arigato Hannah chan .
日本を満喫してくれてありがとう御座います(ゝω・)

beautiful place and timing season! i enjoy the video! what month and around what date this video was shot? i’m a landscape photographer, hope these places with no one around.
See the falls again during autumn!
Nice video, Nikko remind me of South Korea as far as weather is concerned. Was in the Military at Osan Air Base when it was windy during winter it was unbearable, the Hawk our Military slang called it, but anyway nice choice of music along with the content of your cute pals!
Hey Hannah!
If you like snow, waterfalls, lakes and mountains you should come to Norway someday. We've got it all :) Oh and not to brag, but you know the city Arendale in Frozen? Yeah, it's in Norway. Just sayin'. Anyways, love your channel - keep up the amazing work
Norge er et kjempefint land! Jeg skal besøke noe gang, det er min drøm å reise til Norge!
Enjoy Japan!
You sold your Spark? I’ve thought of doing the same thing to get the Air. But I only got my Spark a little over six months ago. 😖
6:14 accidentally made a Kirin sculpture
*creack, creack, creack, creack*
Stands still
“Please, calm your shoes down”.
🤣🤣🤣LMAO
Beautiful
Hi, how do you get around the area? Is there a shuttle bus or you have to hike from your hotel to the shrine and waterfall?
I wanted to go there end Nov, but my schedule is stuck in Tokyo. I read the Edo Wonderland is in the area too.
