Spends 5 minutes sitting on the machine and then 8:01 says these machines are for working, not taking a break on. I get the context of the rings, it was just funny though. Great video!
I have a helical head on my 24” planer. I can have a conversation standing next to it while it’s operating because it’s so quiet. The quality is unmatched too
I am constantly looking for a good deal on machines. Like you, I found a good deal on a 10' table saw 220 volts for $1200 on an Estate sale with an extra-long table. It had only been used once or twice. I got it cheap. I'm looking for a 8" jointer. Too bad I missed yours.
Thank you for your story. I hope you have great success in your woodworking. Can you tell me the size of your base stand where it sits on the mobile base. Thank you very much.
I just learned about this model. Most people seem to have the 12" version. or like you, upgrading to the 16". My budget is probably closer to the 8" for the jointer/planer combo. Do you think it's better to get the helical 8" or HSS 12" from Jet?
What a great video! I really enjoyed the story in the first half of the video. I am looking for a jointer and it looks like I cannot get the larger planer/thiknesser combo down the stairs and in the narrow door to my workshop. So, I have too look at these smaller machines. I will for sure go for a machine with a helical head, but I am a bit concerned about the dovetailed ways. They seems like a real hassle to set up with shims and such. And some people say that the wings will sag after a while. Are you able to give some advice regarding this? Anyway. You have a new sub! And I look forward to watching more of your vids. If you have the inclination, stop by my tiny channel and show some support. Cheers.
I like your review but I had to laugh when you said these machines are tools and aren't meant to be taking a break on but just two minutes before that you were leaning on it telling a story 😂 its all good brother I'm just giving you a hard time! Thanks for the video!
I was a bit disturbed to witness you sitting on the infeed table early in the video, Not the best idea. Heavy weights on cast iron CAN and MAY cause it to deform -- one can tell by hearing a slight ding or click. Also, never lift a jointer by the ends of the tables as it can do the same thing. Also as you were jointing the whole machine was wobbly and moving. Better it should be firmly set in place. Just sayin'
Fun story and good info on buying used. Thanks
He "loaned" the vehicle to you. I do like your channel! Thanks.
I think that is the jointer I bought off you. It still works great.

All good things come from the Lord, no such thing as luck.
It's easy to tell you're a preacher
I’ll give you $850 for it, and I don’t need to borrow a truck.
