As much as I appreciate this whole presentation, I think Brian really knows the level of awesome in here.
Yeah, I think that's why I don't worry about us inviting more people into the magic tent. Magicians fool magicians all the time, and I think it's simply wonderful and good for the art.
We use our knowledge against ourselves.

I feel like there was a jump cut at some point because there are no clear points where the card gets passed. My only solution is the assistant at some point asks for a pause where she can pass it off to get planted in the hat. If it's one continuous cut then this is an absolute master level trick
Yeah, if you pay attention you can see him palm the card out, but I guess the camera was hiding the moment it was passed off. This was a very well planned and executed trick! Bravo!

Why did he have to force a card? Wouldn't any card work?
if you were going straight for the hat, yes. But the second deck is there for time delay, and that one is set up with the reversed three of clubs.
Same card was used to give the full effect.
That was such a clean force and I still don't know how he handed the card off to Roberto
RadicalLosers When they did the review of the trick, it looked like the hat was already set in the guys lap so after he palmed the card off he got it into the hat and tossed it to Roberto under the table to finish the trick.
Beauty classic force. Always makes the effect that more powerful.

I watch too much of this show, it is giving me trust issues.lol, I got the gest of the after it was over, but before it was explained minus one part. The sealed deck, it is obvious after hearing the explanation. Once we saw the card was missing, it was obvious he pulled it. Sadly I either forgotten or skipped the episodes on how the sealed deck effect works. I didn't catch the handoff until the second viewing of the trick which I watched again to make sure I didn't miss anything. There were so many twists and it was awesome to see Brian's reaction. It was so good I had to watch it twice.

if you look when he throws the card away at 9:19 you can see brian glancing in the direction that the card was thrown
He was throwing the prepared hat. I bet the cameraman was moving to grab it and Brian just noticed him moving so looked over and then looked back
Harry Selby You pick up on stuff like this subconsciously. He was too caught up trying to figure out what was happening on the table to acknowledge that a crew member moving would be part of the trick. If he saw the hat and recognized it as part of the trick, he wouldn't have had so much trouble identifying the clue in the sealed deck.

nah i still think he was looking at the hat there is no way he could have glanced down like that and not noticed something and for someone of his experience in magic he would have picked up on something even if he did think the trick was restricted to the table only. and maybe he was just playing it off for the camera?? he is an entertainer after all
I noticed it a bit during the review, but not during the original shot. It might be a retake.
Edit: if you look at the original shot, he just drops it. In the review, he throws it. I am willing to put money on a retake

So I though I saw him do the first move (and I was right) so I reminded 10 seconds and slowed it down to 25% speed and what followed was the most hilarious, drunken magic move I've ever seen 😂😂😂

I'm pretty sure the force isn't needed since the card is being signed and palmed (there's no setup that requires the spectator to have a specific card). Though it's a good idea to force a card anyway since it'll give you more options should something happen to prevent you from doing the original trick.
Arisu The reason for the force was so that it could match the card in the sealed deck. You could just remove that bit of the trick, but I guess Brian wouldn't have been as freaked!

ah, yikes... it was like 6 years ago in 2011... I think "making tricks even better" or something? We shot two of them with Brett Rounsaville, and one of them teaches it. I remember there was a red background.

Thats the Arcana deck you can either buy the Arcana Artifact or buy the decks by themselves although the Artifact is way more fun because you can open 1 of 3 ways 1 crack the code 2 bash it with a hammer or 3 pick the lock (took me a while but i got it)

Why did you both cut the force and also not tell how he did it? For those who want to know, the force card was at the bottom of the deck. When Brian stopped him, he slid that card from the bottom to the bottom of the pile he was about to lift up so when he lifted it, that was the card shown.

Not sure why they cut that out of the trick. Sure, you can use any force you want. It isn't important, but if you are going to teach the trick, teach the whole trick.

Scam School I just rewatched it. Yes, I was totally wrong. The cut I was talking about is right BEFORE you picked the card and apears not to remove anything from the continuity, just an angle change. My complete mistake then. Sorry.
So what force did he use? I don't know enough forces to have spotted it. Well done.
Sam during the explanation they say to force a card using the method of your choosing. There are a few episodes of Brian teaching forces so find one you like and use that
Humanoid25 I understanf that. I was just curious as to which one he used. Especially as a non-professional, I get curious about such things which are often kept a bit cagey in magic and when a channel teaches you a trick, I like it when they teach you the whole trick, even if you may choose to use an alternate variation.
He used a classic force, which can take a few months/years to get down reliably.
